A basic plan for the development of standardized measurement technology to improve quality of life (삶의 질 제고를 위한 측정기술표준화 발전 방안)

  • The quality of life is emphasized as one of the important issue in modern society. Such attention to quality of life started getting more attention lately as it is coupled with the country's competitiveness. In spite the quality of life is very significant, the level of the quality of life in the country is not satisfactory. So, the purpose of this study was to analyze the Korean standard measuring technology in terms of the QOL. First, We identified constructs of the QOL on the basis of several studies to derive an analytical framework. Then, We analyzed the distribution of the measurement standard technology in the country in accordance with the framework. The results of the analysis, many of the current measurement technologies described it regardless of the quality of life. Even if the technologies are relevant. they showed a state biased to the economic QOL. This means that QOL was not considered in the measurement technology standard. Therefore the further improved will be needed.

  • The principle of Effective Based Operation applied to the Korean Theater resulted in measurable effects to win the minimum battle. Based on the finding, this study recommends the effect analysis methodology under the V-C interoperability system to acquire a weapon system. This method is followed as below; to confirm the effect data on the organized weapon system, to set MOE, MOP and effect considering the purpose of the analysis, to apply the appropriate operational concept and scenario on the weapon system, and then the available C Model is after action reviewed, adjusted, and given feedback. The V-C interoperability system enables to perform the real-time combat experiment under the virtual synthesized battlefield circumstances. The defensive battle organization and displacement of the future anti-tank guided weapon system was considered in the modeling process. Scenario was written, which encompasses company-level units and the battalion-level operation. Then the available AWAM was embodied and effect-analyzed, which formed the foundation of SBA.

  • The writers study on the development and the prospect of computer map based on the most recent computer mapping technical aspects. We also study domestic prospect of computer map in connection with the present condition of domestic GIS. The main results are as follows: (1) Computer map has rapidly developed in spite of its short history. We expect that computer map will be improved more in the future owing to the development of computer hardware and software. Most mapping processes will be possible sooner or later owing to Artificial Intelligence(AI) and more improved scanner without human effort. (2) Computer map can be used for various industrial fields and its development can give a great help for technical advance in correlated industries. (3) Computer map has really developed in the country since 1980, when GIS was introduced. Especially, government planned to digitalize all the basic topographical maps covering the whole country between 1996-1998. We think that there is an epoch-making change in the development history of computer map in the future. (4) The development of GIS is closely connected with one of computer map, but the recent technical levels of GIS is not perfect. So there is an urgent need for technical supplement to produce good computer maps. (5) The government had better construct GIS database in order to cut down expenses derived from overlapping input of data by individual users and there is a need for data standard.

  • This paper aims at investigating feasibility of social enterprise approach to water poverty, especially access to safe drinking water issue. Now. over 780 millions of people have no improved access to safe drinking water, which result in various diseases and high mortality in people of developing countries. Recently there is more growing interest on BOP business, a market approach which utilize vitality, innovativeness and profit motives of private business to tackle social problem like poverty. Many BOP businesses have been conducted in the form of social enterprise. In the paper, firstly the severe problems of no improved access to clean and safe drinking water were explained. Secondly, the potential of BOP business to address these problems was explored. Thirdly, some actual cases of social enterprises which successfully run their business were introduced. Fourthly, some business models for social enterprise to want to come into water market were discussed. Finally based on these discussions, some recommendation for Korean companies and government were also suggested.

A Study on the Efficient Improvement of the Animatics for Animation Production in Education (애니메이션 교육을 위한 애니메틱스 제작의 효율적 방안 연구)

  • Animation is breathing life into drawings through motion. Animation is formed by the afterimage phenomenon, that is, deviation of sequential pictures in every frame makes a person possibly perceive it as a live video. Consequently, animation is mostly produced using traditional frame-by-frame methods. The study of relations on timing has been a major concern of animation theory. Nevertheless, issues of timing on production outcomes and effectiveness are mostly ignored. Special focus, analysis and leadership studies on timing are addressed on animatics. Creating better timing through animatics, that is writing movies, directing, scheduling and amending storyboard in pre-production stage, eventually shorten time to animation production. This research is centered on animatics as a cutting edge educational courses. This course will introduce students to the animation production skill and instructors to in-depth teaching points. One of the concepts that we want to go for is keeping animatics apart from mere storyboard. In conjunction with the animation theory, this research conducted under the focus of production of animatics will lead to more efficient way of education on animatics.

  • Whereas comics were printed on a paper in the past, it is now possible to produce digital comics thanks to the development of computer technology. However, it only came to be implemented on a monitor instead of paper and did not fully utilize a digital environment. That is because most digital comics or published comics have been made to be transferred in 'one-way' which means that contents of authors are transferred only to readers not vice versa. Recently, the notion of the 'interactive' in the digital contents takes its own shape even at the 'interactive way' of the communications change through the author and the reader's interactivity using the digital technology. As such, the study put more importance on the digital comics in a proper interactive story-telling structure and one of its category through the suggestion of the above and the soil where to develop the following study.

  • We live in the modern society which is called as Knowledge-Information society. The national and social goal is to raise the creative person for preparing the rapidly changing society. Thus, the schools and families concentrate on and effort to enhance the creativity and problem solving ability. Specially, the school is pushing forward the STEAM education and Software education for raising the creativity person and enhancement of national competitiveness. In this study, we suggested for STEAM education the way how we utilize the App Inventor which was supported by MIT and came up as a computer programming language for Software education, and we verified and evaluated through professional group verification. We completed STEAM instructional design according to the results from the professional group verification, and we suggested the authentic instruction for STEAM education. In addition, we suggested the further prospects of Software education and instructions through going through the characteristics and application plan of App Inventer in terms of educational computer programming language.

  • The article concerns the cultural diversity as a policy value for the cultural industry policy in Korea. in the evolution of the cultural industry policy since the end of the 1990s, the primary values of the public policy has focused on the establishment of the cultural identity and the improvement of the competitiveness of the cultural industries. It Is likely that cultural diversify has been considered as a defensive value against the cultural globalization. Meanwhile, as the UNESCO indicates, the improvement of the cultural diversify should be established as a key policy value in terms of the cultural rights, cultural welfare and social inclusion. In this respect, the article analyzes the policy values of the cultural industry policy in terms of the cultural diversity. In addition, the policy alternatives for the improvement of the cultural diversity will be recommended. In particular, the article studies the case on the comic industry policy.

A Study on the Model of Internet Public Library in Korea (IPL-Korea) (인터넷 공공도서관 구축 모형 연구)

  • We are faced with a paradox in the age of information as finding quality information on the Internet becomes a more challenging task because of information overload. This paper describes the prototype for “IPL-Korea” (Internet Public Library in Korea) project which is an attempt to provide the public with quality information in the form of a metadata system. The system involves cataloging of resources, i.e. websites, that are filtered by library and information science majors as well as information professionals. The user focus of this system is on children, youth, women, and seniors; various classification schemes and resource descriptions relevant for each user group are incorporated into the system to allow efficient browsing of the resources. A thesaurus for “IPL-Korea”, which is based on the ERIC thesaurus, is being constructed for easy manipulation of the breath of searching. The “IPL-Korea” metadata system employs the entity-relationship model in the design of its conceptual schema. Metadata is being stored in the Oracle database system and Web interfaces to this database are provided through ASP, ColdFusion, and JAVA technology.

Description of Abstract Test Suite using TTCN (TTCN을 사용한 추상시험스위트 작성 방안)

  • TTCN(Tree and Tabular Combined Notation), as an international standard, provides a concept and notation to describe a protocol test specification. In this paper, we explain some considerations on each components of Abstract Test Suite and propose naming conventions for Constraints and Test Cases based on the experience of describing Test Suite for real protocol. We also analyze some problems on real application of Test Suite and propose an approach to avoiding such problems in the stage of Test Suite specification. In this paper, we use the SSCOP(Service Specific Connection Oriented Protocol) protocol, that is a sub-layer of ATM Forum UNI 3.1 protocol stack, as an example to proposals on naming conventions on Constraints and Test Cases.
