The purpose of this paper is deriving philosophical foundations of information services by clarifying its concepts and attributes. Clarifying its concepts and attributes is based on the origin of the term information services, definitions and contents, historical and social perspectives. The theory of information services was reorganized by logically demonstrating that the term "information services" is most suitable name to represent its essence, attributes, and activities. The philosophy of information services has the key elements as instruction, information, guidance, and service in humanistic aspects which have been shown consistently in the origin of the term, definitions, historical and social perspectives. This paper tried to establish philosophical basis for information services that is focused on these elements.

Computational thinking has been recently highlighted as an essential ability of the 21st Century so that many educational efforts have focused on broadening participation in computing and promoting computational thinking in K-12 settings. This paper describes the impact of creative learning activities with the Scratch on middle school students' computational thinking and creative potential. The learning activities were designed and implemented in 12 sessions with 34 middle school students. The pre and post creative potential assessment results show that students' creative personality and ideational behavior were significantly enhanced. Also, project portfolio analysis shows that students came to understand several computational concepts that are useful in a wide range of programming contexts: sequences, loops, conditionals, events, and operators.

The purpose of this study is to derive system design factors and to analyze user needs of university library for design of user-centered information retrieval system. The result of this study can be summarized as follows: First, the concept of 'users-centered' in digital environment where the supporting role of intermediaries is growing bigger than before in the interaction with remote information retrieval system can be defined as the new concept of 'expansion of knowledge'. Second, 6 kinds of system design factors derived for user-centered information retrieval system design of the university libraries. Third, The user needs that examined and analyzed through the questionnaires made by user-centered approach according to the design factors should be considered for system design.

Public records, produced during the period of Government-General of Chosun. are essential sources for Korean modern history research. The purpose of this study is to provide a guideline for developing function-based classification scheme for the records. This present paper begins with analyzing archival principles regarding the function-based classification. and examines the problems of current arrangement practices. Based on these analyses, it suggests a guideline for constructing a classification system and a functional thesaurus for the public records of Government-General of Chosun. This guideline also covers functional analysis process and some considerations of different classification aspects which are conceptual, verbal and notational.

The aim of this study is to investigate the influence of graphic calculator in the teaming of function of the underachieved students in the second grade of middle school. Under this purpose of the study, we devised the instruction-plan which incorporates the using of graphic calculator into the traditional paper-and-pencil teaming environments, and executed the function-instruction with the underachieved students according to the devised instruction-plan. During the lesson hours, we observed and analysed the contributions and the carefulness of using graphic calculator in the learning of function of the underachieved students. Furthermore, we carried out the pre-test and the post-test to examine the effects of using graphic calculator in the learning of function of the underachieved students.

The access to web applications has continuously evolved toward the adoption of content centric interfaces. Services and information items are much of user's concern than web sites. For an efficient accommodation of increasing needs of content oriented operations, the scope of domain names is extended in two directions. A naming scheme is derived that is suitable for resource level access units and the semantics of domain names is conceived as very flexible functions. First extension regards the removal of unnecessary TLD's of domain names for resource level binding. Second extension makes the resource level domain names rich in functional binding and consequently various applications can be directly triggered by the invocation of domain names without intervening medium. These extensions may lay a certain direction for the future internet evolution.

In this paper, it is suggested that the elements constituting the gay empire are similar to the main pedagogical concept of John Dewey, a representative educational philosopher. I analyzed some factors that make up the concept of gamification by connecting them with the following five attributes. Continuity, interaction, interest, growth, and educational experience are the main factors that contribute to sustainability. Based on the theoretical analysis of the main concept, I try to find out the relation between the game and education, and understand the meaning of the gamification, not the game.

오늘날 세계는 물질적으로 풍요롭게 되었지만, 생태위기의 발생과 더불어 환경문데를 둘러싼 불평등이 감소하기 보다는 오히려 증대하고 있다. 21세기를 위한 새로운 패러다임으로서 생태학은 이러한 불평등을 극복하기 위한 지식 및 실천으로서 '환경정의'의 개념 또는 이론을 필요로 한다. 진정한 환경정의론은 한편으로 생태학의 규범적 측면들을 발전시키면서 다른 한편으로 이의 이데올로기의 동원을 막을 수 있는 이론적 및 실천적 토대가 될 것으로 기대된다. 환경정의에 관한 개념적 연구는 주로 사회정의에 관한 철학적 전통, 특히 자유론, 공리주의, 계약론을 포괄하는 자유주의적 정의론, 맑스주의적 정의론 및 포스트모던 정의론 등에서 도출된 주요 개념들을 자연환경에 확대시키고자 한다. 환경정의에 관한 몇몇 학자들, 대표적으로 벤쯔(Wenz), 하비(Harvey), 로와 그리슨 (Low and Gleeson) 등은 다양한 전통을 위에서 제시한 (환경)정의론들을 면밀히 고찰하여, 이들 각각의 한계를 제시하거나 문제점들을 지적하고, 나아가 이들을 종합하고자 했다. 이들의 연구는 환경정의에 관한 다양한 이론들의 특성을 이해하는데 많은 도움을 주지만, 그 자체로 일관성 있는 이론으로 발전하지는 못했다. 이 글에서 제시되는 환경정의론은 인간들 간의 관계, 자연과 인간들 간의 물질적 관계, 그리고 상징적 관계 등에 상응하도록 정의를 3가지 차원, 즉 분배적 정의, 생산적 정의, 승인적 정의로 구분하고자 한다. 이들은 각각 필요의 원칙, 노동의 원칙, 그리고 의사소통의 원칙에 기초하며, 또한 각각 자유주의적, 특히 롤즈의 정의론, 맑스주의 정의론, 그리고 비판이론이나 포스트모던 정의론에서 많은 시사점들을 얻을 수 있다.

In this study, a numerical analysis technique was newly developed to evaluate the damage propagation characteristics of concrete structures. To do this, numerical techniques are incorporated for the concrete members up to the compressive damage due to the bending compressive forces after the tensile crack based on the deformation mechanism. Especially, for the compressive damage stage after the tensile crack, the crack propagation process will be analyzed numerically using the concept of an equivalent plastic hinged length. Using this concept, it can be established that section forces, such as axial forces and the moment cracks takes place, can be related to the width of the crack making it possible to analyze the crack extension.

The goal of the study was to examine undergraduate students' perception of the importance of the concept of system in science. The participants are six undergraduate students in the department of science education. Data sources included interviews and interview notes. Results showed that students understood the concept of system as a group of objects, space, and boundaries, which differed from a previous research study about its details. The students also were able to explain the concept of system related with the process of problem solving. The students recognized as well the selection of system for analysis of natural phenomenon, explaining that the selection of system was determined by purpose of the observer. Lastly, the students explained that the concept of system was useful for science learning because it was strongly related with other science concepts, understanding of interactions, and learner's cognitive development.
