An experimental study was conducted to investigate the effect of a rotor design on the performance characteristics of a slurry pump using the tornado principle. The slurry pump differs considerably in terms of construction as well as operating principle when compared to the conventional centrifugal pump. The design parameters of the cross-shaped rotor included the diameter, thickness and height. The total head, shaft and water powers, and pump efficiency as a function of flow rate were compared with the design parameter. It was found that as the rotor diameter and height increase, the efficiency increases, whereas, an increase in the rotor thickness decreases the efficiency. In the rotor design condition of this study, the specific area and efficiency of the maximum height rotor were, respectively, smaller and higher than those of maximum diameter rotor.

최근 들어 코인을 넣고 자신이 원하는 시간만큼 효율적인 세차를 할 수 있는 셀프세차장 이 점차 확대되고 있는 추세에 있다. 시간과 비용 절감효과가 있는 셀프세차 시스템은 이용자가 직접 코인을 넣고 서비스를 제공받는 다는 점에서 분명히 자판기의 한 분야로 볼 수가 있다. 그런데 최근 이러한 셀프세차 시스템이외에도 스팀을 이용해 세차를 할 수 있는 스팀세차자판기 시스템이 등장해 큰 관심을 끌고 있다. 이 스팀 세차는 물을 주로 이용하는 셀프 세차보다 공간활용 측면, 경제성 등에 있어 장점을 가지고 있어 제대로 소비자 인식만 전재된다면 큰 인기몰이를 할 수 있을 것으로 기대되고 있다. 국내 최초로 스팀세차 자판기를 개발하고 셀프 세차 시장의 돌풍 몰이를 준비 중인 지산테크의 사업행보를 통해 앞으로의 시장 가능성을 살펴보는 시간을 마련했다.

사용후 연료 건식 저장 용기가 낙하, 토네이도, 미사일, 홍수 및 지진으로 인한 사고에 대하여 전복이 발생되었을 때 강체 평면과 충돌에 의한 충돌 하중시의 구조 응력 평가하였다. 이를 위해 저장 용기의 무게 중심이 한계를 넘었을 때의 초기 전복 시작각을 무게 중심을 계산을 통해 구하였다. 상용 코드를 사용하여 전복 응력 해석 수행시 저장 용기의 강체 운동에 의하여 계산 시간이 길어지는 데, 이런 계산 시간을 줄이기 위해 일차 충돌 직전까지의 모델의 속도와 각속도 계산식을 이론적인 방법으로 구하여 해석 초기 조건으로 사용하는 방법에 대하여 제안하였다.(중략)

A short review on TOTO (TOtable Tornado Observatory), one of the earliest in-situ observing systems for tornado, is provided. TOTO was outfitted with sensors for measuring wind, pressure and humidity, and storm researchers, in mid-1980's, tried to put it inside tornadoes for detailed studies on tornado, but failed. However, the accumulated knowledge and experience with TOTO lead to a successful field program in mid-1990's. A story about DOROTHY, a parody of TO TO in the movie "Twister!", is also provided.

Recently a lot of researches have been conducted on the progressive collapse of structures which is the total collapse of structures initiated by localized damage. Most of the previous studies on the field of progressive collapse have followed deterministic approach without considering uncertainty involved in design variables, which results in unknown reliability of the analysis results. In this study the sensitivity analyses are carried out with design variables such as yield strength, live load, damping ratio, and elastic modulus on the vertical deflection of the joint from which a column is suddenly removed. The Monte Calro simulation, tornado diagram method, and the first order second moment method(FOSM) are applied for the sensitivity study. According to the nonlinear static analysis results, the vertical deflection is most affected by the variation of yield strength of beams. The nonlinear dynamic analyses show that the behaviour of model structures is highly sensitive to variation of the yield strength of beams and the structural damping ratio.

본 논문에서는 MPC8260 프로세서를 활용한 임베디드 시스템을 활용하여 교육용 라우터 개발을 수행하였다. 개발환경으로는 다양한 RTOS중 토네이도 2.0.2를 활용한 가장 안전한 vxworks를 사용하였다. 이때 호스트 컴퓨터를 서버로, MPC8260 프로세서를 활용한 임베디드 시스템을 클라이언트로 사용하여 서버/클라이언트간에는 RS-232-C로는 MPC8260 프로세서가 탑재된 보드의 상태 점검용으로 활용되고, 이더넷으로는 서버에서 클라이언트로 tfp로 컴파일된 소스의 다운로딩 및 이더넷 상의 패킷 송, 수신시 기능 점검을 위해서 사용되었다.
