For a good design, it is important to understand consumers and trend of textile and fashion design. Previous researches on textile pattern design with CAD have been done. They have studied on Korean traditional floral motives/hand painting or some geometric patterns. Few studies have been done on conversational design. Therefore the purpose of study was to observe types of textile pattern design for the recent fiver years and determine fabric pattern trends, especially on the conversational motifs. The types of patterns were analysed with professional panels from the 2005～2009 collection sources, using SPSS program. This study was also develop textile patterns creating using CAD. We conducted design process on motif creating, repeat, and mapping jobs, using textile special design program Prima vision and Photoshop CS3.

Marbling dyeing technique shows beautiful flowing pattern because the pattern is transferred to the medium by the pigments floating onto the viscous solution base. However, this marbling pattern does not have any reproducibility and the result of accidental pattern formation. Marbling process contains many complicated procedures such as making marbling base, mordanting the medium, and bubble removal with size limitation. Computer changed the many aspects in textile design and digital technique is used in many design production. However, it is impossible to produce marbling pattern with digital drawing. In this research, the digital textile design starting from marbling pattern was developed for digital textile printing. Marbling was done to produce the initial motifs and scanned. Several marbling media such as silk, polyester, and paper were used. Photoshop was used to process and develop textile design based on these marbling motifs. One repeat was developed and various colorways were tried. The developed textile design were printed using DTP.

본 연구는 텍스타일 디자인의 세 가지 분야인, 직조 디자인, 날염 디자인, 그리고 니트 디자인에 대해 살펴보았고, CAD 시스템을 이용하여 이들 텍스타일 디자인을 도식화 및 패션 디자인에 입혀봄으로써 텍스타일 디자인에 어울리는 패션 디자인을 선택할 수 있는 텍스타일 디자인과 패션 디자인을 연결시키는 작업 과정에 대해서 살펴보았다. 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. CAD 시스템의 프로그램을 이용하여 직조 디자인, 날염 디자인, 그리고 니트디자인 등을 디자이너가 머릿속에 그리는 이미지를 몇 번이고 쉽고 빠르게 구체화시켜 창작할 수 있었다.2. T셔츠 도식화에 이들 CAD 시스템의 프로그램을 이용하여 창작한 텍스타일 디자인을 입혀보았다.3. 창작한 직조 디자인은 여성 의류에, 날염 디자인은 아동복에 그리고 니트 디자인은 남성 복의 스웨터에 각각 입혀 보았다.이들 작업 과정을 통하여 CAD 시스템이 실무 디자이너들에게 얼마나 효율적인지에 대해 살펴보면 다음과 같다.1. 패션 디자인에 날염, 직조, 그리고 니트 디자인 등이 어울리는지를 모니터 상에서 알아봄으로써 실제 쌤플 제작에 드는 시간과 비용을 절감할 수 있다.2. 모니터 상에서 다양한 other color작업과 소재, 패턴 개발이 가능하고 제품 방향에 대한 신속한 의사결정을 할 수 있으므로 다품종 소량 체제를 갖출 수 있다.3. 제품이나 쌤플 제작 이전에 바이어들의 의사결정을 유도할 수 있으며, 바이어의 의향을 최대로 반영한 디자인을 즉석에서 구현시킬 수 있으므로 짧은 시간 내에 많은 제품의 주문을 받을 수 있다.4. 디자인 정보를 매년마다 체계적으로 관리할 수 있으며, 다시 활용할 수도 있음으로 정보를 얻기 위한 시간과 경비를 절감할 수 있다.5. 디자이너와 하청 업체간의 업무 간소화로 디자이너들이 독창적인 디자인 개발을 하는데 효과적일 뿐 아니라, 외주 용역비, 교통비등의 비용 또한 절감할 수 있다.

This paper is to analyze the classification of textile pattern design focusing on the 19th century in England. The purpose of this study is. firstly to research the thoughts and ideas of these design in the time of mid-Victorian age; Secondly. to classify the textile pattern design from many points of view. We could find such William Morris's thought and ideas of 19th century to reform from textile pattern design. We wish to use these studies for textile pattern designers to develop this tradition onward to modern and future trends.

세계화시대에 따른 다민족, 다문화사회는 이제 전세계가 공통적으로 겪고 있는 현상이다. 우리나라도 이미 다문화사회로 진입하였기에 더 이상은 단일민족이라는 이데올로기에 머무를 수만은 없는 실정이다. 그러나 현재 국내 다문화사회관련 국가정책과 연구들은 제도적 측면과 한국문화의 일방적 교육에 국한되어 있기에 본 연구는 이러한 실질적 한계점을 극복하고자 하는데서 시작되었다. 본 연구의 목적은 각국의 문화가 함축적으로 반영된 민화에서 디자인 리소스를 확보하고 생활 속 의식주에 가장 밀접한 섬유제품에 접목시킬 수 있는 텍스타일디자인 콘텐츠를 개발함으로서, 문화적 교류에 의한 소통방안을 제시하고자하는 것이다. 따라서 본 논문은 국내의 결혼 이민자 현황을 기반으로 빈도수 상위 3개국인 중국·베트남·일본의 민화의 특성 분석결과를 통하여 배색 및 텍스타일패턴디자인콘텐츠로 개발함으로써 다양한 섬유상품들에 즉각적으로 적용이 가능하도록 시도하였다. 연구 결과 및 내용은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 국내 다문화사회는 국제결혼을 통해 형성된 것으로 나타났으며 가장 많은 결혼이민자 국가는 중국, 베트남, 일본, 필리핀, 캄보디아, 타이, 몽골, 기타 순으로 나타났다. 둘째, 민화는 각국의 차별화된 문화가 함축적으로 내제되어 있는 중요한 요소로서 텍스타일디자인 콘텐츠를 개발하는데 적합하였다. 셋째, 중국, 베트남, 일본의 민화를 활용하여 문양 및 배색 DB구축 및 텍스타일 패턴디자인콘텐츠를 개발한 결과 각국의 문화적 특성이 반영된 콘텐츠의 활용도와 상품화의 가능성을 검증할 수 있었다. 이러한 연구결과를 바탕으로 다문화사회 구성원 간의 문화를 자연스럽게 공유하고 접하는 정서적·예술적 측면의 화합과 차별화된 관련 상품개발에 기여하기를 기대한다.

Various paper ornaments appear in Gut, the rite of shaman in Jeju, and these are frequently called Gime, Gimekijeon or Gimejeonji. Gime are slips of white or colored paper, made to resemble the shape of god and used in the ritual shaman dances of Jeju. These Gime are hung around an altar, fastened to the end of a green bamboo pole, or held in the shaman's hands when they dance. The purpose of the study is to develop textile design based on the formative features of Gime, as a way of using Myth of shaman in Jeju. This study is used Gime made by 'Kim Yoon-Su' Simbang (shaman) who plays a role of Intangible Cultural Assets of The 71th 'Jeju Chilmeoridang Yeongdeunggut'. As a result, it was to develop the Komusaljang pattern, Seongjukkot pattern, Jijeon pattern, Jowoangki pattern and Cheoljjukdae pattern design of Jeju image using Gime that is one of the unique, indigenous pattern of Jeju.

본 논문에서는 텍스타일 영상의 내용 데이터와 메타데이터를 결합시킨 영상 검색 시스템을 제안한다. 섬유 패션의 정보를 가지고 있는 메타데이터와의 결합은 그 동안의 섬유 패션 산업과 관련된 영상 검색 시스템에서 진보된 것이다. 우선 메타데이터의 정보를 통해서 영상을 검색하게 된다. 검색된 영상 안에서 색상히스토그램과 색상스케치를 통하여 주어진 영상과 비슷한 영상들을 검색하게 된다. 이러한 방법은 영상내용만을 통해 검색했던 것 뿐만아니라 텍스트가 가지고 있는 의미를 보안하여 보다 효과적인 검색을 할 수 있었다. 본 논문에서 제안된 시스템에서 부가적인 기능인 돋보기 기능, 색상 히스토그램 기능, 색상 스케치 기능, 반복 패턴 보기 기능을 통해 검색된 영상들의 정보를 효과적으로 제공함으로써 사용자의 편의를 강화하였다.

Quality of life today is being enhanced through technology and economic activities, but time for leisure has continued to shrink. In this modern society, a phenomenon is appearing in which people are trying to return to their pure and childlike worlds to relieve themselves from the pressures of stress, anxiety, and feelings of crisis in their repetitive and boring daily lives. Along with the struggle for existence that they feel, this shows how modern people hold on to nostalgic elements experienced in their childhood, and have a tendency to want to express those experiences through consumer activities. As positive opinions stating that such consumer activities not only relieve stress, but also help psychological stability are emerging, consumer trends for the development of fashion products which reflect 'Kidult' emotions are becoming increasingly popular. Not only that, with interior products, the need for the development of differentiated designs which are focused on consumers and which reflect consumer demands is being magnified as they are very important as living designs within the consumption environments of modern people. As such, the goal of this study is to develop textile pattern designs for kidult interior products for adults.

This study derives the modern characteristics of the paisley ornament through an analysis of the paisley ornament shown in fashion since the 2010s based on a theoretical review of the paisley ornament used in Kashmir India shawls for artistic inspiration in the fashion-textile field. It classified the paisley ornament in fashion since the 2010s into types of 'basic structure of body and coif', 'abnormal paisley ornament shapes', 'complex structure of paisley ornament', 'complex structure with other motif', 'a pair of symmetrical reflection motif', 'regular of repetitive arrangement', 'complex arrangement of irregularity and regularity' and 'free arrangement of irregularity'. A comparative analysis with the historical paisley ornament shows that paisley ornaments have contemporary characteristics like 'Bisector structure of centerline in criterion of the body', 'Composite structure of extended 1-repeat', and 'Free structure of engineered placement'. A modern design was inspired by the historical art forms; however, it was used in free utilization of motifs and patterns in terms of size, direction, proportion and space. These were the expression of a design identity that originated from the aesthetic ability and career of a designer as well as the technology of computer programs for the improvements in time and cost efficiency.

The purpose of this study is to develop textile pattern designs by utilizing the prototype of traditional culture extracted from cultural resources in order to establish a specialty strategy for local cultural contents. To achieve this, the study selected the Hyojaemunjado as source of Jeju traditional culture. Jeju's Hyojaemunjado is characterized mainly by the creative and unique formativeness of Jeju's character paintings. Character paintings often contained images related to the characters featured inside characters, or composed stroke with symbolic iconography. The main subjects of Hyojaemunjado were stories that alluded to the Confucian virtues. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to remind people of the real meaning of Shin(truth) by developing textile pattern designs, which borrows the tessellation technique for design, and the dominant characteristic of geometric abstraction. This study used theoretical research and empirical analysis. First, the study did the theatrical research on Hyojaemunjado based on literature and precedent studies, and then analyzed the style of expression and formativeness on the Shin character paintings through real analysis of Jeju's Hyojaemunjado kept in Jeju National University Museum. Second, based on the analysis of the style(three-tier composition) and formativeness of Hyojaemunjado, it analyzed the formativeness of the iconography about Shin, i.e. character types(semi cursive style, square style) drawn according to the symbolic meaning, palace, unknown flower, pheasant, tile fish and constellation. Based on analysis of the iconography, it stylized the motives that became available on the Archimedean tiling of tessellation, and then developed the textile pattern designs by arranging the iconographic motives with Platonic tiling and Semi-tiling. The reason why this study borrowed tessellation was to create various visual effects using the size of angle, symmetry and change and joint with simple figure.
