  • SIGMA (Scientific cubesat with Instrument for Global Magnetic field and rAdiation)는 근 지구공간에서 우주방사선량 측정과 자기장 변화 검출의 과학적 목적과 교육적 목적을 가지고 개발하고 있는 초소형 큐브위성이다. $100mm{\times}100mm{\times}340.5mm$의 크기로 약 3.6 kg의 무게를 가지며, 탑재체는 방사선에 대하여 인체와 동일한 산란 흡수 특성을 가진 Tissue Equivalent Proportional Counter (TEPC)와 자기장 측정을 위한 Magnetometer (Mag)이다. 위성체는 구조계, 자세제어계, 전력계, 명령 및 데이터처리계, 통신계로 구성되어있다. 구조계는 위성의 뼈대인 Chassis와 Mag deployer로 이루어져있고, 위성의 안정적인 자세유지를 목적으로 Attitude Control System (ACS) Board와 Torque Coil이 자세제어계로 구성된다. 전력의 생산과 공급 및 충전은 태양전지판과 Electrical Power System (EPS), 리튬 배터리로 구성된 전력계에서 이뤄지며, 명령 및 데이터처리계는 On Board Computer (OBC)와 Instrument Interface board (IIB)를 중심으로 서브시스템의 명령체계와 데이터처리를 다룬다. 통신계는 Uplink인 VHF 안테나와 Downlink인 UHF, S-band 안테나로 구성되며 지상과 명령을 송수신한다. SIGMA는 타임인터럽트 기능을 활용한 Flight Software (FSW)로 운용되며 임무에 따른 6가지 모드의 시나리오로 위성을 운용한다. 이에 SIGMA의 개발과 테스트 결과를 소개한다. 본 큐브위성 개발기술을 바탕으로 향후 천문관측용 위성에도 활용할 예정이다.

A Study On the Design of a Floating Point Unit for MPEG-2 AAC Decoder (MPEG-2 AAC 복호기를 위한 부동소수점유닛 설계에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, we designed a FPU(floating point unit) that it is very important and requires of high density when digital audio is designed. Almost audio system must support the multi-channel and required for high quality. A floating point arithmetic function in MPEG-2 AAC that implemented by hardware is able to realtime decoding when DSP realization. The reason is that MPEG-2 AAC is compatible to the Audio field of MPEG-4 and afterwards. We designed a FPU by hardware to increase the speed of a floating point unit with much calculation part in the MPEG-2 AAC Decoder. A FPU is composed of a multiplier and an adder. A multiplier used the Radix-4 Booth algorithm and an adder adopted 1's complement method for speed up. A form of a floating point unit has 8bit of exponent part and 24bit of mantissa. It's compatible with the IEEE single precision format and adopted a pipeline architecture to increase the speed of a processor. All of sub blocks are based on ISO/IEC 13818-7 standard. The algorithm is tested by C language and the design does by use of VHDL(VHSIC Hardware Description Language). The maximum operation speed is 23.2MHz and the stable operation speed is 19MHz.

  • This study is The Effect of the on the purchase behavior of the Software Quality. To have purchased the software in a Consumer surveys were conducted. The following is a summary of results of this research. First, the software quality and significant consumer purchasing behavior (+) of influence. Functionality, usability, portability of software quality attributes the impulse buying and buy more of both the (+) showed the influence. Second, software quality is urge consumers to purchase significant (+) of influence. Functionality, reliability, usability, portability of software quality (+) showed the influence. In conclusion, the quality of the software in consumer purchasing behavior (+) were of significant influence. In particular, factors that functionality, usability factors, portability factor in the relatively large influence on the purchasing behavior. Software technology development, planning, development, testing, and in each step must keep in mind the following. First, the software, when used in certain conditions, Inherent ability to meet the needs and requirements set forth to provide the appropriate functionality and accuracy as the ability of software products each other with the capabilities to the effective and thorough security features should be required. Second, software, a user-specified criteria to use in understanding and learning, and must, and the ability to prefer. Software for users to understand and easy to use, whether the check. In particular, understanding the interface, Help understanding, understand the input and output data, and interface consistency, the user information, the message must be equipped and easy to understand. In addition, ease of learning to be self-learning, and help ease of access shall be required. Third, in certain circumstances, a different environment to transfer be equipped with the functionality of the software. Development of a Traffic Signal Controller for the Tri-light Traffic Signal (3구신호등 제어용 교통신호제어기 개발)

  • The traffic signal controllers being used in the domestic currently are being manufactured based on the korean national police standard which was developed for controlling the quad-light traffic signal having the red, yellow, left-turn arrow, and green lights. But according to the national policy for the traffic operation, they have to be changed to be able to switch the tri-light signal having red, yellow and green lights. In this study, a new tri-light traffic signal controller was designed and developed by the way improving the Signal Control Unit of the existing quad-light standard traffic controller. The Load Signal Unit(LSU) was improved to output 6 signals which are the two assemblies of three signal indications having the red, yellow, and green lights. To enough traffic signals output to control each directional movements and the various transport modes which are car, bus, bike, and pedestrian etc., the connector bus system was designed to be able to accommodate maximum 96 signals outputs being constructed by 16 LSUs. Flasher device was developed to be able to support maximum 32 red signals. In the software, the communication protocol between traffic control center and the traffic signal controller was improved and new signal map code values were defined for the developed LSU controlling the quad-light traffic signal. A model of the quad-light traffic signal controller developed and was tested three operations, protocol-operation, remote-command and control-mode. The test result operated all of them successfully.

  • For the purpose of next generation technology for robot perfomances, a RAoRA (Robot Actor on Robot Arm) structure was proposed using a robot arm joined with a humanoid robot actor. Mechanical analysis, machine design and fabrication were performed for motions combined with the robot arm and the humanoid robot actor. Kinematical analysis for 3D model, spline interpolation of positions, motion control algorithm and control devices were developed for movements of the robot actor. Preliminary visualization, simulation tools and integrated operation of consoles were constructed for the non-professionals to produce intuitive and safe contents. Air walk was applied to test the developed platform. The air walk is a natural walk close to a floor or slow ascension to the air. The RAoRA also executed a performance with 5 minute-running time. Finally, the proposed platform of robot performance presented intensive and live motions which was impossible in conventional robot performances.

Real-time Implementation of the AMR Speech Coder Using $OakDSPCore^{\circledR}$ ($OakDSPCore^{\circledR}$를 이용한 적응형 다중 비트 (AMR) 음성 부호화기의 실시간 구현)

  • An adaptive multi-rate (AMR) speech coder was adopted as a standard of W-CDMA by 3GPP and ETSI. The AMR coder is based on the CELP algorithm operating at rates ranging from 12.2 kbps down to 4.75 kbps, and it is a source controlled codec according to the channel error conditions and the traffic loading. In this paper, we implement the DSP S/W of the AMR coder using OakDSPCore. The implementation is based on the CSD17C00A chip developed by C&S Technology, and it is tested using test vectors, for the AMR speech codec, provided by ETSI for the bit exact implementation. The DSP B/W requires 20.6 MIPS for the encoder and 2.7 MIPS for the decoder. Memories required by the Am coder were 21.97 kwords, 6.64 kwords and 15.1 kwords for code, data sections and data ROM, respectively. Also, actual sound input/output test using microphone and speaker demonstrates its proper real-time operation without distortions or delays.

  • The image display is an Important component of PACS and of medical digital imaging chain. Displayed image qualify is affected by the physical characteristics of display device, appropriate clinical settings and calibrations, and ambient lighting conditions. The performance of display systems is continuously degraded over time due to luminance deterioration and changes of clinical setting parameters. A routine QC is recommended because the performance of display systems is continuously degraded over time. Ten flat panel monochrome LCD display devices were included in the evaluation of the QC effect. The effect of QC on primary class LCD medical display devices for selected QC tests was evaluated by comparing the performances, luminance response, luminance dependencies, display resolution and display chromaticity in this study, of before and after the calibration procedures. The effects of the QC are significant to luminance response and luminance spatial dependencies test and the other side, are slight to the display resolution and display chromaticity test. A routine QC of display device is essential for the consistency of medical image display and presentation. The study of the QC effects of display devices will play an important role in practical QC procedures of display devices.

A Rewriting Algorithm for Inferrable SPARQL Query Processing Independent of Ontology Inference Models (온톨로지 추론 모델에 독립적인 SPARQL 추론 질의 처리를 위한 재작성 알고리즘)

  • This paper proposes a rewriting algorithm of OWL-DL ontology query in SPARQL. Currently, to obtain inference results of given SPARQL queries, Web ontology repositories construct inference ontology models and match the SPARQL queries with the models. However, an inference model requires much larger space than its original base model, and reusability of the model is not available for other inferrable SPARQL queries. Therefore, the aforementioned approach is not suitable for large scale SPARQL query processing. To resolve tills issue, this paper proposes a novel SPARQL query rewriting algorithm that can obtain results by rewriting SPARQL queries and accomplishing query operations against the base ontology model. To achieve this goal, we first define OWL-DL inference rules and apply them on rewriting graph pattern in queries. The paper categorizes the inference rules and discusses on how these rules affect the query rewriting. To show the advantages of our proposal, a prototype system based on lena is implemented. For comparative evaluation, we conduct an experiment with a set of test queries and compare of our proposal with the previous approach. The evaluation result showed the proposed algorithm supports an improved performance in efficiency of the inferrable SPARQL query processing without loss of completeness and soundness.

Preliminary Study on the Simulation for Urban Railway Facility Performance Assessment (도시철도시설 성능평가 시뮬레이션 구현을 위한 기초 연구)

  • For domestic urban railways, which have a 19.7% aging rate, a performance evaluation is necessary to establish capital improvement investment plans. The performance evaluation, which was recently enacted in the relevant law, points out the excessive time and effort for acquiring data and evaluation. This study developed a performance evaluation simulation prototype using a virtual reality (VR) method to use as training contents for railway performance evaluations. The practical use of the VR technique to reduce the working time under poor environment conditions was confirmed through a literature review. A survey and consultation were conducted for urban railway experts to determine the weight of the performance evaluation items and the facility breakdown structure. This information was utilized to develop performance evaluation sheets for simulation. Based on the evaluation sheet, a training content prototype that evaluates the performance of platform safety doors was developed using VR techniques with HTC VIVE equipment. VR simulation tests were conducted for six players, and the prototype was sufficiently advantageous for a visual confirmation of the facility information. The result is expected to be useful for engineers to understand the performance evaluation process efficiently before an actual performance evaluation of urban railway facilities.

  • The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport of Korea has been trying to spread integrated railway communication network technologies based on a major railway policy since 2012. As a result, the world's first commercial Long-Term Evolution - Railway (LTE-R) network was established on the Gangneung line (Manjong station - Gangneung station) and has been commercially operating as a railway communication system since 2017. Special function and performance requirements are needed for safe and efficient railway operations, such as group calls, emergency calls, functional addressing, and train control based on wireless communications. In this paper, we present functional and performance railway communications requirements that are based on European wireless railway communications systems. In addition, we measured communications characteristics and performance using a KTX field test on the Gangneung line to analyze the validity and reliability of the LTE-R network. Although the average Radio Frequency (RF) conditions were satisfied in the requirements, we found sudden communications quality degradation, such as Radio Link Failure (RLF) in some railway sections. We propose a way to improve performance and network installations based on in-depth analysis of LTE-R communications field-test results.
