  • 선박 침수사고 발생시, (De)Ballasting 작업은 기본적인 대응방안 중 하나이다. 16000톤급 여객선의 항해 중 탱크 변화량의 패턴을 분석하여 내항성 안전모듈 대응가이던스에서 정량적인 평가방법을 통해 침수사고 발생 시 최적탱크를 선정하여 제시할 수 있도록 실제 상황에 적용 가능한 알고리즘(안)을 개발하였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 복잡한 형상을 갖는 여러개의 셀로 구성된 스마트무인기의 각 연료탱크에 대해 높이변화에 대한 체적변화를 분석하여 그 관계를 간단한 다항식으로 표현하였다. 그리고 탱크 셀 수보다 적은 수의 Probe를 이용하여 전체 연료량을 계측할 수 있는 효과적인 방법을 제시하였다. 이러한 결과는 측정 Probe의 계측 프로그램에 활용될 수 있다.

Prediction of Pressurant Mass Requirement for Propellant Tank with Operating Condition Variation (운용조건 변화에 따른 추진제탱크 가압가스 요구량 예측)

  • The pressurant mass required for propellant tank pressurization with operating condition variation was estimated by using the numerical model already developed for this purpose. The model was applied to the concept design results of KSLV-II first stage oxygen tank. The supplied pressurant temperature, oxygen volumetric flow rate, and the ratio of length to diameter of the tank were selected as variables. The required pressurant mass and mass flow rate, collapse factor, ullage temperature distribution were predicted, and the results showed that the pressurant temperature had the largest effect on the amount of the required pressurant mass. The pressurizing efficiency of the propellant tank was calculated through analyzing energy distribution in the ullage. It was found that the gas-to-wall heat transfer in the ullage was dominant, and much of the pressurant energy was lost to tank wall heating.

  • In this research, we investigated the hydrogen-gas filling characteristics of ultra-light composite tanks that have a plastic or aluminum liner inside the composite shell. The study was performed for different gas and tank temperatures. The temperature changes at various positions in the Type-4 tank during hydrogen-gas filling were monitored in order to understand the effects of the filling conditions. The results were compared with those obtained for a Type-3 tank. As the filling speed was increased, a quicker temperature rise was observed, and the temperature distribution over the entire region showed significant discrepancies.

  • 최근 기후변화의 영향에 따라 강수량과 증발산량이 변하는 경향을 보이고 있으며, 그에 따라 유출량도 변하고 있다. 따라서 기후변화가 수자원에 미치는 영향도 커지고 있으며, 댐 유역의 유출량 산정은 홍수나 용수의 확보측면에서 중요시 되고 있다. 탱크모형은 일본의 Sugawara가 1961년 처음 개발한 모형으로 유역을 오리피스 유출공을 가진 저류형 수조의 조합으로 가정하여 유량을 산정하는 유출모형으로 매개변수가 많고, 이들을 시행착오로 결정해야 하기 때문에 숙련된 경험이 요구되는 단점이 있으나 계산법이 명확하고 수문현상을 잘 재현한다는 장점이 있다. 탱크에는 강수량, 유출량, 그리고 증발량과 같은 입력 자료가 필요하며, 정확한 실제 증발산량 값을 알기는 어렵기 때문에 물수지를 이용해 증발산량을 계산하여 사용하고 있지만 유출량 미계측 지역에서는 사용이 어렵다. 그러므로 태양복사에너지, 온도, 바람, 기압, 습도와 같은 기상학적 인자에 따라서 잠재증발량을 산정하여 탱크 모형의 입력 자료로 사용한다면, 유출량자료가 없는 유역에서도 탱크모형을 사용하여 유출량을 산정할 수 있을 것으로 사료된다. 본 연구에서는 섬진강댐유역과 합천댐유역의 유출량 산정을 위해 잠재 증발산량 산정식(Penman, FAO P-M, Makkink, Preistley-Taylor, Hargreaves)을 적용하여 Tank 모형 매개변수들의 민감도분석을 수행하였다. 섬진강댐은 전북 임실군 강진면 옥정리와 정읍시 산내면 종성리 사이에 있으며, 유역면적은 $763km^2$, 댐 높이는 64m, 제방길이 344.2m 댐으로 매개변수 민감도 분석 적용기간은 1975년~1992년이다. 합천댐은 경상남도 합천군 대병면 회양리에 있는 댐으로 높이 96m, 길이 472m, 유역면적 $925km^2$의 다목적 댐이며, 매개변수 민감도 분석 적용기간은 1989년~1999년이다.

Case Study on Optimization of Send-out Operation in Liquefied Natural Gas Receiving Terminal (LNG 터미널 송출 운전 최적화 사례 연구)

  • Recently, LNG receiving terminals have been widely constructed and expanded for an increase in LNG demand. Selection of the storage tank for send-out and estimation of send-out flow rate have significant influence to process operation and economics. In this study, a send-out flow rate of each storage tank is optimized in order to minimize the total BOG generation rate. Considering a size and characteristic of each storage tanks, BOG flow rates are estimated using a dynamic simulation with varying liquid levels in the tanks. The regression model is developed fitting BOG flow rates and tank liquid levels, which are boil off rate model to predict BOG flow rates with particular level data. The objective function and constraints including required total send-out flow rate and level limit in the tanks are formulated to optimize a send-out flow rate of each tank. This method for optimization of send-out operation is applied to the Incheon LNG receiving terminal considering two scenarios for various liquid levels and maximum and minimum required send-out flow rates. For maximum required send-out flow rate, this method achieves BOG reduction of 9% comparing with assumed conventional operation.

  • If the hydrogen industry is activated in the future, the LH2 receiving terminal with membrane storage tank is a major way to store and send large capacity hydrogen. Since such a LH2 receiving terminal does not currently exist, the process simulation model of it was completed by referring to the design data on existing LNG receiving terminal with same typed storage tank. Based on this model, the amount of BOG generation according to change of design conditions, which is a very important factor in the operation of LH2 receiving terminal, was predicted. Through this, it was attempted to review the appropriate operating conditions to minimize the amount of BOG generated during unloading in LH2 receiving terminal with membrane storage tank.

Development of Fuel Quantity Measurement System for Aircraft Supplementary Fuel Tank (항공기 보조연료탱크 연료량측정시스템 개발)

  • This paper presents a fuel quantity measurement system (FQMS) for an aircraft supplementary fuel tank considering the change of aircraft attitude. The developed FQMS consists of fuel sensors, a signal process unit, an indicator and a software to estimate the fuel quantity from the sensor data. To replicate the change of the roll and pitch attitude on the ground, the test simulator is developed in this work. Using the test simulator, the sensor data at various fuel quantities, roll and pitch angles are automatically measured to build a training data set. The data-driven software to estimate the fuel quantity is then developed using a trilinear interpolation method with the training data set. The developed FQMS is verified by investigating the fuel estimation error of the test data set that we know the true values. Through the test, it is confirmed that the error of the developed FQMS system satisfies the criteria of TSO-C55 document.

On the Prediction of Inner Pressure for the Tank in Rolling Motion (동요하는 탱크의 내부 변동압력 추정에 관한 연구)

  • The inner liquid pressure of an airtight tank in rolling motions is investigated by means of forced oscillation tests, and the simple method to estimate the inner liquid pressure is proposed. A rectangular solid tank, which is fully filled with water, was used in the forced oscillation test of rolling motion. The inner pressure variations in time were measured at several points on the inner walls of tank. Measured pressures are compared with the calculated ones, and estimation methods of the inner liquid pressure of the tank in rolling motion are studied based on the considerations of the origin of pressure.
