Quantitative Analysis Cholesterol in Each Parts of Korean Squid by the Chromarod TLC-FID System(Iatroscan) (Iatroscan에 의한 한국산 오징어의 부위별 콜레스테롤 함량 측정)

  • Comparisons of enzymatic method, gas chromatographic method, and the Iatroscan method for the determination of cholesterol in each parts of Korean squid were undertaken. The Iatroscan method was the most suitable procedure for the rapid and simple determination of net cholesterol concentration in parts of Korean squid. 5$\alpha$-cholestane is used as a good internal standard. The cholesterol contents in body, leg, viscera, eye, skin, and liver part of Korean squid, Todarodes pacificus STEEN STRUP by Iatroscan method were 178.9, 321.4, 168.9, 159.5, 608.8 and 634.2 mg%, respectively.

  • Nonstationary power quality(PQ) signals which the Sag, Swell, Impulsive Transients, and Harmonics make sometimes the operations of the industrial power electronics equipment, speed and motion controller, plant process control systems in the undesired environments. So, this PQ problem might be critical issues between power suppliers and consumers. Therefore, We have studied the PQ recognition system in order to acquire, analyze, and recognize the PQ signals using the software, i.e, MATLAB, Simulink, and CCS, and the hardware. i.e., TMS320C6713DSK(TI), The algorithms of the PQ recognition system in the Wavelet transforms and Backpropagation algorithms of the neural networks. Also, in order to verify the real-time performances of the PQ recognition system under the environments of software and hardware systems, SIL(Software In the Loop) and PIL(Processor In the Loop) were carried out, resulting in the excellent recognition performances of average 99%.

  • This study was performed to optimize the basic platform of a lateral flow immunoassay. Improvement of the limit of detection (LOD) was evaluated according to the width of a nitrocellulose membrane with varying concentrations of analyte. The analyte, neutravidin was detected based on the avidin-biotin interaction. The antibody-Au nanoparticle conjugation was mostly stabled in a PBS buffer of pH 7.3. The optimal widths of a nitrocellulose membrane were 4 and 6 mm considering the sample flow rate and signal strength of the test line on the membrane. The LOD of neutravidin was 0.001 mg/ml in the optimum conditions.

  • Generally, DAB systems are divided into two categories, a stand-alone type and a PC/PDA-based type. The PC/PDA-based type has less mobility comparing to the stand-alone type, nevertheless, it has the advantage of using memory, audio/video decoder, or other resources of PC/PDA. The DAB receiver implemented in this paper is a PC-based receiver system employing USB interface. The USB interface bridge is designed using FPGA and EZ-USB development kit and the implemented DAB receiver adopts the bridge and makes use of the stand-alone typed DRK-026 receiver for experiments. The USB interface bridge transforms serial data into USB packets and all of related signals are controlled by hardware logics. The operation of the implemented DAB receiver is verified by sending audio data into the PC for decoding through USB interface bridge.

Effects of Optimal Heat Detection Kit on Fertility after Artificial Insemination (AI) in Hanwoo (Korean Native cattle) (한우 인공수정에서 수정적기 진단키트 활용이 수태율에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the optimal artificial insemination (AI) time with diagnostic kit at ovulation time. We already applied the patent about the protein in the cow heat mucose in external reproductive tract. And we would examine the accuracy for detection of cow heat by the kit produced with the protein. Evaluation of optimal heat detection was tried two time at 12 hrs and 24 hrs after the heat. And then, AI service also performed two times with no relation to the results of heat diagnosis by heat detection kit and pregnancy rates were checked with rectal palpation on $60^{th}$ day after AI. Heat diagnostic results by kit in natural heat after 12 hrs in Hanwoo cows were showed 31.3~75.0% on positive in first heat detection and 33.3~100.0% on positve in second heat detection. In the $1^{st}$ positive results were significant different (p<0.05), but $2^{nd}$ positive were not. The results of heat detection showed different result on regional influence and individual cow effects. The pregnancy rates of first trial of heat detection were showed 34.4~78.7% on positive and 21.3~68.8% on negative after the diagnosis by heat detection kit. And the pregnancy rates of next trial of heat detection were showed 33.3~85.7% on positive and 14.3~66.6% on negative after the heat diagnosis. Both positive results of first trial and next trial also were showed significant different (p<0.05), but negative results were not. In positive result, first trial of total pregnancy rates was higher than the next trial of pregnancy, but there showed opposite results on negative results. In conclusion, the optimal heat detection kit is suitable to ordinary Hanwoo cows and it suggested that we have to improve the kit's accuracy by detecting the materials like proteins related optimal AI time.

  • In multicast environment, the main objective of group key management is to provide security services to group communications by sharing a single group key among all the members of the group and subsequently encrypting and decrypting all the communication messages exchanged among the members of the group. Up to now, there has been no effort to develop group key management mechanism that considers the rate of users' join/leave operations. Hence, in this research, we propose group key management mechanisms that consider the rate of user's join/leave operations. We also define a new tree structure called variable tree which is much more flexible than full regular trees and show that variable trees are more efficient than full regular trees for group key management. Especially, we propose an algorithm that minimizes the necessary number of rekey messages according to the rate of join and leave operations. We also shows that if the rate of leave operation is greater than 50%, then the tree structure with degrees 2 or 3 are the optimal structures.

  • A 3-year-old intact female Dachshund was referred due to paraplegia and cool extremities. History taking, physical examination, neurological examination, and blood profiling studies were evaluated to determine the diagnosis. Based on abdominal ultrasound and echocardiograph, features suggestive of adult heartworm were detected in aberrant places. The result of enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) testing with a commercial heartworm antigen kit was positive. The dog fell into a comatose state, and the client requested the dog be euthanized. On post-mortem examination, the patient was diagnosed with ectopic parasitism of heartworm in the left side of heart, aorta, aorta abdominalis, and iliac arteries, a circumstance that induced systemic thromboembolism. This case report describes the clinical, diagnostic imaging, and necropsy findings of canine ectopic parasitism of heartworm.

  • The relationship between balance and ankle muscle characteristics (strength and flexibility) may be important to identify those at an increased risk of falling and to develop fall-prevention training programs. The association between ankle muscle characteristics (strength and flexibility) and balance has not previously been studied. The purpose of this study assessed the relationship between ankle muscle characteristics and balance. Sixteen healthy participants volunteered to participate in the study. Dynamic balance measured using Y-balance kit. Ankle muscle characteristics (strength and flexibility) measured using hand-held dynamometer and goniometry. The results indicated a positive correlation between ankle invertor muscle strength and Y-balance test performance. Clinicians should consider ankle muscle strength during therapeutic interventions to improve dynamic balance.

  • To recently, light of the sun and fuel cell etc. which is new and renewable energy is developed with the direct current energy source mostly. And it is necessary that the utilization plan which does supply it properly. In this case, the direct current illumination system can be a typical alternative of it. The system similar to the development system is composed of type which connects to each other the photovoltaic pannel, the charge kit, and the battery bank. I develop all-in-one system which the power supply system and photovoltaic pannel which can charge and use efficiently. Additionally, I exploit the DC lamp module of three wave which can separate the electronic ballasts from the module. Developed the DC Lamp module of all-in-one which can turn on or can turn off, by operation of ON/OFF button. It can be used semipermanently by changing just only electronic ballasts.

  • In this paper, an active antenna module operating in the 60 GHz band is designed and fabricated by combining a commercial transmitter chip and patch array antenna. The designed module is composed of an antenna PCB and a PCB with a transmitter chip. The frequency-control and bias-control signals are applied to the transmitter chip, using an Arduino kit. A baseband I/Q signal is also applied to the chip. A ring hybrid balun converts the output of the transmitter module to a single output, which is the output of the transmitter chip that outputs a differential output. The output is delivered to the $2{\times}4$ microstrip patch array antenna PCB as a micro-computer connector. The radiation pattern of the millimeter-wave signal of the final output is compared with the simulation results. The measured radiation patterns of the fabricated active antenna module confirm that the positions of the 3 dB beam width and null point agree well with the simulation results.
