  • Recently, decarbonization has been emphasized worldwide to cope with climate change, and carbon neutrality by 2050 has emerged as a global agenda. The domestic port authorities have been participating in the global agenda in line with the government regulations. Since 2010, when decarbonization has been regarded as an important assignment in ports, container terminal efficiency considering undesirable outputs such as Carbon dioxide has been analyzed. However, most previous studies measured carbon dioxide emissions according to the Tier 1 and it is a first time to analyze container terminal efficiency based on the Tier 3 presented in the IPCC guidelines. 17 domestic container terminal operators were considered as decision making units and DEA-SBM Model was used. Subsequently, Undesirable outputs model was conducted to calculate the environmental efficiency.

This study performed a GWAS analysis for the excavation of a Korean-specific and obesity-related SNP, which utilizes genetic information were recommended by entering a personalized diet in accordance with the SNP genotype-phenotype information. In addition, we integrated Database with relation of nutrient for utilizing the USDA Food information and it was applied to recommend with Sickdanome. As a result, the obesity-related SNP information was confirmed in the sample which has the normal value BMI. In this study, we have recognized that the phenotype information related obesity, BMI is inconsistent with the SNP genotype information. This result is shown that it is necessary to provide the personalized dietary SickdanOme recommendation based on the both pheotype-genotype information.

  • This study aims to evaluate the economic value of the heat wave watch/warning (HW/W) forecast provided by the KMA (Korea Meteorological Administration) for the public sector. Local govermenments of Korea currently use the HW/W forecasts as a major input variable to determine the preparative requisite level for reducing potential damage by extreme heat events. To assess the value of the HW/W, which is not a marketable commodity, a decision-making model taking into account the cost and loss was established. The 'cost' variable was defined as the heat wave countermeasures budget for Seoul and Busan in 2016, and the 'loss' variable was set as the amount of health insurance claims for those 65 and older obtained from the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service. Using this model, the value of the HW/W in 2016 was calculated as KRW 4,133M and KRW1,090M for Seoul and Busan, respectively. In addition, if the KMA reduces the False Alarm of the HW/W by a single instance, the value will be increased by KRW 76.6M and KRW 16.8M for the two cities. The results of this study are useful in quantitatively estimation of the value of the HW/W forthe public sector.

In addition to instructor's verbal communication in the classrooms, non-verbal communication plays an important role. There is growing concerned about instructor's non-verbal communication affecting the learning process and learning outcomes. Based on the literature research student's emotional presence and rapport were used variables of learning process, and learning satisfaction was used as a variable of learning outcome to see the relationship of instructor's non-verbal communication. Data was collected from 378 students at A university in Gyeonggi-do and K university in Daejeon. The data was analyzed through structural equations modeling. As a result of the study, instructor's non-verbal communication had a positive impact on emotional presence and rapport. Emotional presence had a significant influence on rapport and learning satisfaction positively, and rapport had a positive effect on learning satisfaction. Instructors should be able to recognize the role of non-verbal communication in the classes as well as be able to use it appropriately. • Many companies in Korea have developed job competency models and are utilizing them for the purpose of training and management of employees. However many of them are unable to be utilized efficiently through their own job competency model because the company failed to reflect what happens in the real work place in the model or the model itself is not concrete enough to be applied practically. Thus, in this study, the current status of Korean companies which had developed their own job competency model were investigated and the subsequent development of training system which is based on the model were developed. By result of the survey, about 43.5% of the company, which has more than 400 employees, have developed job competency models and 31.7% of them haven‘t been able to develop training system based upon the model due to the lack of concreteness of their model. To overcome this contradiction, we developed web 2.0 based job competency modeling method where each individuals in the organization themselves develop job competency as opposed to an expert oriented developing method. The result of this study is that web 2.0 based job competency modeling method is superior to any another modeling in an accuracy of competency, an acceptance of competency, and an usefulness of competency description.

  • In this study, we have examined how the potential users of IT convergence product use the external information sources for purchasing decision focusing on a case of smartphone. Although the specifications and price of IT convergence products, such as smartphone, tablet pc, and smart TV, are considered as major criteria for purchasing decision, the competitiveness of these factors have disappeared as many companies launch similar products in the market. External information sources play a significant role to differentiate the alternatives by offering value-added experience information. The effect of external information sources becomes stronger for experience and high-involvement product whose performance can be evaluated through only users' direct experience. In this study, we categorized the external information sources for smartphone into five; company ads, personal network, expert group, consumers, and media. Through an empirical study with potential smartphone users, we verified how these external information sources affect users' purchasing decision in the perspective of the perceived attributes of information source, quality of information, and individual's characteristics based on self-regulatory theory.
