  • The purpose of this study is to present the mental model of young adolescents' media environment and the use and to provide several educational suggestions drawing on the revealed model. For this, the data were collected through 4 activities such as interview, picture drawings, word association experiment, and sentence completion task with ten 4-5th graders in elementary schools; they were qualitatively analyzed by 2 researchers. First, the meaning components driven by sentence completion task, word association experiment were totally 6 components: media device, connection(alienation), competence(provision), entertainment, adverse effects, ambilaterality. Second, the components of media mental model driven by pictures were 4 components: functions/competence, entertainment, conflict with paper books/sharing, harmfulness/ambilaterality. Third, the components from interview consisted of conflict between paper books and electronic media, communication-centeredness, fear(addiction) and users' qualification. Based on those results, careful examination in cyber talk, necessity of addiction prevention, active development of learning media and their balanced utilization with books, and healthful media literacy education and reinforcement of critical thinking were suggested.

  • As structures' long term performances and users' safety have been highlighted, a new maintenance technique using IT has drawn attention around the globe. Therefore, throughout the paper, by analyzing bridge's static and dynamic data using wireless measuring sensor, a "real time smart bridge monitoring system" has developed. Smart bridge monitoring system is consists of three main parts a sensor that can measure major members' movement, a wireless system that informs the data from the sensor, and the database system that analysis the data. In order to test the performance of the system, five different were placed on the Olympic Bridge, Seoul. The power system of the sensors was replaced by self-sustain solar energy system. In order to validate data from the real time smart bridge monitoring system, the data was collected for a week from both wireless system and the wired system and the two data were compared to see the relevance.

  • This study aims at finding impact of cultural and sports characteristics on urban growth. For the empirical analysis, this study uses unique urban resources associated with four categories (Social, Traffic, Cultural and Sports, and Spatial characteristics) among 228 cities and towns using a semi-log multiple regression analysis. The result shows that various local resources have significant impacts on urban growth in terms of population, industry, and fiscal self-reliance ratio. Impressively, cultural and sports resources are relatively beneficial for the urban growth. For the population and industrial growth, expanding public sports facilities and professional sports facilities can be more efficient. For solid local finance, typically focusing on professional sports facilities that have far-reaching ripple effects are useful. The conclusion for this study shows that urban growth policy should prioritize the cultural and sports resources because it can be more effective way to enhance not only for urban growth but also for quality of citizens' life.

  • The primary objective of implementing the study was to further investigate any pronounced financial components affecting the level of cash retention for the Korean chaebol firms. The research was framed to test for two hypotheses on the cash savings with utilizing the chaebol firms during the post-era of the global financial turmoil (from 2009 to 2013). In the first hypothesis test, any significant explanatory variables relative to the cash holdings, were identified in each corresponding category of the conditional quantile regression (CQR) model, while multilogistic regression analysis was performed to discriminate relevant financial factors in each pair of classes consisting of the chaebol firms. Concerning the results, liquidity, agency costs, and cash conversion cycle were found to be statistically significant in the majority of classified categories in the former test and liquidy, firm size, and dividend yield, also showed discriminating powers in each pair of categorical for the firms in the latter test.

  • The purpose of this paper is firstly to research the Capstone Design Learning Model which helps the students to acquire practical industrial skills and knowledge in real business fields, and secondly to analyze the qualitative effectiveness of this model in respect of knowledge, skill and attitude which NCS(National Competence Standards) suggest in industrial design field. In order to study, the second-year students taking the class 'Communication and Design Project(CDP)' of Industrial Design Major of DIT, took part in the Capstone Design Project and proceeded a project 'Character design of the entertainer Robert Holley' in cooperation with a relevant company and the professor in charge of this project. Through this research, it appeared that Capstone design related to visual design tasks improved the technical skills and competence of the students majoring in design. In other words, through analyzing questionnaire survey based on NCS, evaluation from relevant company, and awarding a prize of the design contest, we conclude that this instruction design and action plans have significant meanings to promote the students on-the-job competence.

  • One of RFID features is that each RFID tag has a unique identifying code. Logistic System utilizes RFID tag as location tracing, understanding stock or etc. On the other hand, there is a problem of overall lower recognition rate by getting the information of non-mobility tags with no need for reading. To solve this problem, we trace and analyze variation of moving and moveless RFID tag sensitivity by the hour. In analyzed data, we verify that tag sensitivity of mobile RFID is gradually increase while non-mobility tag has same intensity value. In order to detect mobile tag, we generate a function using Matlab with analyzed data and separate moving tags from non-mobility tags by software. As a result, we can confirm that non-mobility tags are detected by software and recognition rate of RFID tag is improved by separating moveless tag.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the effectiveness of flipped learning lesson on the human social behavior and social environment subject. In order to achieve this object, this study conducted qualitative analysis of class-evaluation and self-evaluation and quantitative analysis using the questionnaire. As a result, it was confirmed that flipped learning method works very effectively in the theoretical curriculum of social welfare. Participants assessed that their comprehension and presentation skills improved. In addition, their self-esteem improved after this class. However, this teaching may be rather negative for participants who had difficulties in pre-learning or a passive attitude. In order to improve this problems, the instructors should be prepared to make pre-learning better. As well as, they should prepare countermeasures for passive participants, and help interact well among the participants.

The workers of this kind regards 'quality of place', known as amenity, as an important factor in choosing a residential area. This paper analyzes how the effect of city amenity influences on residential preference of creative workers in comparison with production workers. First, as of 2014, the total number of creative workers are 5.73 million (23.2% of the total workforce), and more than half (58.6%) are concentrated in Seoul and Gyeonggi area. Second, the excess residence rate of the creative workers (number of residents/number of jobs) is high in metropolitan areas. Third, when comparing with workers in productions sector, the selection of residence location for creative workers are significantly influenced by certain city amenities such as education. The outcome of analysis is expect to be utilized as a preliminary work for making policies which promotes number of creative workers at the regional level.

  • Reportage documentary by SBS did a great role to keep public sphere whether other programs shrinked during 2010's. I analysed with the assumption that there are some rhetorical characteristics in narrative structure of . Looking as 'Mysterious reportage documentary' I analysed the rhetorical characteristics of title, subtitle and script. Title has a perspective to suffice audience's desire and subtitles uses word 'mystery', names of place, interrogative sentences very often. This use helps to draw and keep audience's attention. I found reversal of fortune rhetoric, into depth rhetoric and admiration rhetoric salient. These results connect to the design thinking approach which shed light on importance of person, and we could get an implication of the successful development of television contents.
