Implementation of ray tracing simulator for extracting sound field parameters (음장파라미터 추출을 위한 음선추적 시뮬레이터의 구현)

  • A sound field simulator is constructed to obtain the sound field paramaters such as the magnitudes and directions of early reflections with moderate efforts. The proposed simulator is based on the hybrid ray tracing method that traces rays reached the listener position and convert them to image sound sources. By this approach, we can obtain the directional impulse response relatively easily with minimum casts. Simulation experiment results of several performace places are reported to how the versatility of the proposed simulator system.

  • The theory of subjective preference with temporal and spatial factors which include sound signals arriving at both ears is described. Then, auditory evoked potentials which may relate to a primitive subjective response namely subjective preference are discussed. According to such fundamental phenomena, a workable model of human auditory-brain system is proposed. For eample, important subjective attributes, such as loudness, coloration, threshold of preception of a reflection and echo distrubance as well as subjective preference in relation to the initial time delay gap between the direct sound and the first reflection, and the subsequent reverberation time are well described by the autocorrelation function of source signals. Speech clarity, subjective diffuseness as well as subjective preference are related to the magnitude of inter-aural crosscorrelation function (IACC). Even the caktail party effects may be eplained by spatialization of human brain, i.e., independence of temporal and spatial factors.

  • The purpose of this design plan is a method for opening the church to regional society to contribute to make up the community within regional society and to achieve the desirable common society of christianity like following. 1)For opening churchs to regional society, the church has to make up exterior spaces sufficiently. 2)The main chapel has to planned with mutipurpose for fiexibility and various functions of contemporary church. 3)The whole facilities have to be organized with a kind of the complex or multifunctional building which can accommodate activities of education, recreation and culture, therefore, content with the community's requirements. 4)The architectural form of the church has to planned with human scale, considering harmonization with regional environment. Modern church architecture needs a centralized plan, a variety of shapes such as square, round oval and polygon rather then a rectangular which is able to bring about a closer reationship between the priest and the congregation in the church.

  • This study investigates the effect of geometrical shape of concert halls, with variation in the shape and location of diffusers. The acoustical characteristics both in the audience area and on the stage 1:50 scale models of shoebox and fan-shaped halls. It was found that the front side walls affect sound diffusion. The 1:50 scale model based on the Boston Symphony Hall was used for monaural impulse response measurements for calculation of RT, EDT, C80, G and ST1. In addition, calculating the numbers and amplitudes of reflection rays were applied to quantify diffusion phenomena.

안전현장스케치 - 철저한 관리로 안전한 무대 환경 조성 '성남아트센터'

  • 성남문화재단은 성남시의 문화예술 창작과 보급, 조사, 교류, 성남아트센터와 성남시민회관의 운영관리 등을 위해 지난 2004년 12월 창립됐다. 특히 재단 창립 이듬해인 2005년 성남아트센터에는 오페라하우스, 콘서트홀, 앙상블시어터 등 극장과 문화강좌를 위한 강의실이 개관돼 많은 사람들이 찾게 되면서 안전 문제에 대한 관심이 더욱 커졌다. 연중 공연이 끊이지 않는 이곳에서 유일하게 비수기라 할 수 있는 기간은 하계 휴가철이다. 많은 사람들이 바다와 산으로 여름휴가를 떠나면 공연장을 상대적으로 덜 찾게 되는 까닭이다. 이 때문에 성남아트센터의 안전점검도 7월과 8월에 집중 진행된다. 푹푹 찌는 여름철 어두운 무대 뒤편에서 안전점검이 한창인 성남아트센터를 직접 찾아가 공연무대시설의 안전은 평소 어떻게 관리되고 있는지 이야기를 들어봤다.

  • 심미적차원의 접근을 통한 영상디자인의 틀을 인간이 가진 오감의 특성을 최대 활용하여 전시상황에 따른 감성문법을 활용하여 감각적이며 사용자중심의 니즈에 맞는 선택적이며 시대흐름에 맞는 패턴분석을 적용하여 감성적인 욕구를 심리적인 방법으로 파악하며 영상으로 접근하는 것이다. 이러한 감성패턴분석들은 VJ(비디오쟈키)의 영상활용과 증강현실, 전시디자인의 광고 또한 건축물에 있어서 효과적인 영상활용법을 적용한 감성디자인의 확장을 보여주고 있다. 오감을 활용한 인터랙티브한 미디어아트에서의 영상활용과 콘서트홀에서의 관객과 소통을 인한 커뮤니케이션장치들이 확장되며 도구들 속에서 진정한 인간의 통합된 감각을 전달하기 위한 감성이 필요하다. 이번 연구를 통하여 감성디자인을 적용한 영상사례들을 살펴보며 소통을 위한 감성디자인의 영상을 활용하여 최적화된 전시디자인에 활용되는 감성적 접근방법과 활용에 대해 이해하고자 한다.

  • Recently, the use of mobile phone services has been tremendously increased. Thus, to prevent public nuisance related to mobile phone calls in specific locations such as theatres, contort halls or hospital. the use of the inhibiting equipment to deter communication over mobile phone etc.(hereinafter referred to as the “wavewall”) has been required. In this paper, we investigated the current status of wavewall for other countries and analyzed the effect on the mobile communication which is generated by using the wavewall.

  • 서양음악의 연구는 음향학의 측면에서 수십 년 동안 연구되어왔다. 이를 통해 좋은 콘서트홀이라고 표현할 수 있는 많은 객관적 지표들을 제시할 수 있었고, 그 결과 서양악기와 공연장은 밀접한 관계를 가지고 서로 발전할 수 있었다. 그러나 국악에 있어서는 악기와 연주 스타일, 공연장에 대한 음향학적인 지표가 연구가 되어진 것이 많지 않다. 본 연구에서는 판소리를 위한 전용 공연장을 대상으로 청취평가를 이용한 주관적 평가를 통해 국악에 적합한 객관적 지표를 추출하였다. 실험에 사용한 음향 지표로는 RT, BR, IACC 등이 있으며, 이들 지표들을 가변하여 제작한 청취평가 시료를 바탕으로 한 주관적 평가 결과를 분석하였다. 서양음악에 적절한 것으로 알려진 음향특성뿐만 아니라 기존에 수행한 바 있는 국악 실내악에 대한 연구결과와도 다소 다른 경향을 나타냄을 알 수 있었다.

Preference factors of stage acoustics for duet performers according to on-stage performance evaluation (무대 위 연주평가에 따른 듀엣 연주자의 무대음향 선호요인)

  • The purpose of this study is to derive the preference factors of stage acoustics for duet performers through the measurement of the stage acoustics in a concert hall and the performance evaluation on the stage. 15 pairs (total 30 players) of the performers participated in the experiment, and the preference of selected 5 locations were evaluated. As a result, the preference in the center of stage was the highest, and CS (Clarity at stage) and $ST_{Late}$ were the most significant factors for the preference.

The Effects of Stage Reflectors on Stage Acoustics in Concert Halls (콘서트홀에서 무대음향에 대한 무대 반사판의 영향)

  • The effects of the movable reflectors on the stage acoustics in Seoul's Sejong Performing Arts Center (3,048-seat multi-purpose hall, stage area of $270m^2$ within an orchestra shell) and Ceramic Palace Hall (440-seat concert hall, stage area of $105m^2$) were investigated. Acoustical parameters were evaluated by measuring stage and audience acoustics in the two halls. The study was primarily based on the stage support parameter STI proposed by Gade (Acustica 65, pp.193-203, 1989). Results showed that STI varied on the stage of the large hall according to the position of the reflectors, whereas STI did not vary in the small hall. In the large hall, a smaller clear stage area (bounded by the reflectors) yields an increase in both STI and other early energy measures. In the small hall, early energy decreases when its stage's surface diffusion was covered with specular reflectors.
