제63차 IFLA 총회가 1997년 8월 31일부터 9월 5일까지 덴마크의 코펜하겐에 있는 Bella Center에서 열렸다. 이번 총회에는 세계 각국에서 2,500여명이 참석하여 성황을 이루었다. 한국에서는 도서관협회의 사공 철 회장님을 비롯하여 33명이 참석하였다. A팀과 B팀으로 나뉘어 구성된 한국참가자들은 대회 참석을 전후하여 프랑스 파리, 독일의 프랑크푸르트와 하이델베르그, 영국의 런던 등을 거쳐 세계를 배우는 기회를 가졌다. 필자는 A팀에 소속되었지만 프랑스 파리를 돌아보는 여정에는 합류하지 못하였고 코펜하겐 공항에서 합류하였다. 사실 필자는 금년 4월 중순경까지도 총회에 참석하겠다는 계획이 전혀 없었다. 왜냐하면 총회의 개최 시기가 2학기 시작 후이기 때문에 참석하는 것에 무리가 따르리라는 생각이 있었기 때문이다. 그러나 참으로 사람 사는 일은 알 수가 없는 것인지 어느 봄날에 핀란드와 오스트레일리아에서 날아든 e-mail 때문에 코펜하겐까지 가게 되었고 급기야는 이렇게 탐방기를 쓰게 되었다. 대회의 규모가 워낙 크기 때문에 장님 코끼리 만지는 식의 이야기가 될지도 모르지만 코펜하겐에서의 나의 경험에 바탕을 두어 일기식으로 적어나감으로서 독자들로 하여금 조금이나마 총회와 코펜하겐을 짐작할 수 있게 하고싶다.

The purpose of this study was to examine the category function, the item structure, and the model-data fit of the Copenhagen neck functional disability scale (CNFDS) with neck pain subjects using Rasch rating scale analysis. The data was obtained from the assessments of 71 college students with neck pain. The 'concentration' item showed misfit and fourteen items were founds to be fits for self-reporting of disability due to neck pain. The most difficult item of the remaining 14 items was 'help' and the easiest item was 'social contact'. The subjects and items reliability of separation reliability were 0.85 and 0.97. The CNFDS for self-reporting of disability due to mild neck pain has been proved valid and reliable. This study is suggested that individuals with mild neck pain may be used the modified CNFDS that were not included 'concentration' item and were adjusted the 2 response levels.

세계 선진 수의 기생충학회 (World Association for the Advancement of Veterinary Parasitology; (W.A.A.V.P.) 제17차 국제학술대회 (the 17th International Conference)가 1999년 8월 15일부터 20일까지, 덴마크의 대학도시 코펜하겐 (Copenhagen, Denmark)에서 개최되었다. 제17차 금년도 W.A.A.V.P 국제학술대회의 특징은, '기생충 (parasites). 생산 (production) 그리고 환경 (environment)'이라는 슬로우건을 내걸고, 06개국의 회원국에서, 750 여명이 참가하여, 13가지의 주제별로, 700여 제목의 특강과 학술발표 (구두 및 포스타 발표), 워크샵 등으로 이루어 졌다는 점이다. 새롭고 눈에 띄는 발표중에는, 네오스포라 캐나이눔 (Neosporacaninum)의 백신개발에 관한 연구보고도 있었다, 금년도 W.A.A.V.P. 국제학술대회에는 우리나라에서 필자를 포함하여 서울대학교 수의과대학 기생충학 교실에서 윤희정 교수와, 박사학위 과정중에 있는 이종경 수의사와 서흔수 수의사가 참여하었으며 3 제목을 발표하었다. 앞으로, 2년 후에는, 제18차 W.A.A.V.P. 국제학술대회가 이태리의 스트레사라는 도시에서, '전진을 가속화, 전통을 지키며' ('Promoting Advancement, Preserving Tradition')이라는 슬로우건을 내걸고 열리게 될 예정이다. 우리나라 수의기생충 연구업무의 활성화 위하여, 세계 선진 수의 기생충학회 제17차 코펜하겐 학술대회와 제18차 스트레사 학술대회에 관한 정보를 제공하고자 한다.

Purpose: This study aims to test the validity and criteria-related reliability of the Korean version of the Copenhagen Psyco-social Questionnaire version II (COPSOQ-K) assessing the psychosocial working environment. Methods: The COPSOQ-K was developed through forward-backward translation techniques, and revision based on feedback from focus groups. Survey data were collected from 311 office workers who worked in one workplace. An internal consistency reliability was estimated by Cronbach's ${\alpha}$. The impacts of the COPSOQ-K scales on job satisfaction, self-rated health, stress, sleeping troubles, burnout, and sickness absence were analyzed with multiple regression model or multiple logistic regression model, adjusted age and gender using SAS version 9.3. The Pearson correlation coefficients between the COPSOQ-K scales and Korean job stress and its subdomain were identified. Results: Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ of COPSOQ-K scales was adequate or good (0.66~0.87). The major COPSOQ-K scales predict job satisfaction, self-rated health, stress, sleeping troubles burnout, and sickness absence. The major COPSOQ-K scales were correlated with Korean job stress and its subdomain. Conclusion: The COPSOQ-K scales have satisfactory reliability and criteria-related validity. The COPSOQ-K scales will be useful for the future studies and practices associated with psychosocial working environment.
