Development of a 700 W Class Laboratory Model Hall Thruster (700 W급 홀 전기추력기 랩모델 연구개발)

  • 700 W class laboratory model Hall thruster, which can be used for the orbit control or station keeping of small satellites, was developed. The size of the discharge channel was determined using a scaling law, and the magnetic field was designed to be symmetric with respect to the midline of the discharge channel and to be maximized outside the discharge channel. Base pressure of a vacuum chamber was maintained below 2.0×10-5 Torr during experiments, and the thrust was measured by a thrust stand. The anode flow rate and coil current were varied with the fixed anode voltage at 300 V. Under the operation condition at 2.36 mg/s anode flow rate and 2.4 A coil current, performance was optimized as 38 mN thrust, 1,540 s total specific impulse, and 50 % anode efficiency at 620 W anode power.

Signal Intensity Changes according to Coil Position Changes in MRI using 6 Channel SENSE Cardiac Array Coils (6채널 SENSE Cardiac Array 코일을 이용한 검사 시 코일의 위치 변화에 따른 신호강도)

  • In this study, we measured signal intensities according to array coil position changes to provide reference data of coil directions and the distances as it deters image quality unless the coils are aligned properly. The multi-purpose MRI phantom was placed in body array coils, and it was moved to the top, bottom, left, and right directions by 2 cm from the center to 10 cm. After obtaining images, signal intensities were measured and compared. The results of this study were as follows: Except for the upward direction, the signal intensities of the reference signal was not significantly different from that of the reference signal intensity within 2cm in both T1 and T2-weighted images. In conclusion, in clinical circumstances which various challenges exist to align the coils exactly on the same lines, array coils should be positioned at least within 2 cm from the center except for the upward direction, on the same line to prevent the image qualities are lowered.

  • 본 논문은 사람의 얼굴 영상에서 잡티를 제거하는 방법을 제안한다. 먼저 입력받은 영상에서 Haar-like Feature 기반 Adaboost 알고리즘과 색상 정보를 이용하여 얼굴 영역을 검출한다. 검출된 얼굴 영역에서 잡티를 제거하기 위해서는 먼저 눈, 코, 입, 눈썹과 같은 얼굴의 주요부위를 검출하고 이 영역을 제외한 순수 피부 영역에 잡티 검출 알고리즘을 적용해야한다. 사람의 얼굴은 미세하게 명암도 차이가 나는 부분이 많기 때문에 가우시안 스무딩을 적용한 후, 그래프 기반 분할 방법을 사용하여 눈, 입, 눈썹을 분할한다. 코 영역은 각 픽셀에 대해 인접픽셀과의 R 채널의 차이값을 가중치 맵으로 만들고 가중치 맵을 분석하여 영역을 분할한다. 분할된 영역에 사람 얼굴의 기하학적 위치 정보를 이용하여 주요부위를 검출한다. 얼굴의 주요부위를 검출하고 그 부위를 제외한 피부 영역에 잡티 검출 알고리즘을 적용한다. 잡티는 Edge와 색상 정보를 이용하여 검출하고, 잡티주변을 검사하여 잡티가 아닌 깨끗한 피부를 잡티 영역에 복사하여 채워나가는 방식으로 피부 영역을 복원한다.

Development of Heat Dissipation Measuring System for 1.2-kW BLDC Motor (1.2kW 급 BLDC 모터의 열 발산 측정 시스템 개발)

  • In this study, a heat dissipation measurement system is developed to analyze a 1.2-kW BLDC motor. It is important to check the temperature of the motor because an increase in temperature causes problems in the motor insulations, which in turn influences the motor life. A generator for a vehicle is installed to set up a load. We changed the load from 165 to 495 W. While the rpm varies from 2000 to 4000 under various load conditions, the changes in temperature were measured for the operating period by using a thermocouple. The results of experiments conducted under natural convection conditions suggest that the temperature was not stationary with the rpm, load, and coil of the motor and it kept increasing over $120^{\circ}C$. However, under forced convection conditions, the temperature stationarily reached $84^{\circ}C$ after 4000 s. The difference between the maximum and the minimum temperatures was $10-26^{\circ}C$ with an increase in the rpm and load. The orders of high temperature were as follows: motor coil (Ch#1), side of motor surface (Ch#5), inside of motor cap (Ch#2), upper side of motor surface (Ch#4), and inner wall of the motor (Ch#3).

  • This paper demonstrates a variable capacitor using fluids as dielectric material and investigates the possibility of its application to a magnetic resonance microscopy's coil. The capacitor structure was integrated with a microfluidic channel and the capacitance was measured while changing the filling percentage of fluids in the channel. The measured capacitance when filling DI water and mineral oil was changed from 1.7 pF to 12 pF and from 1.7 pF to 2 pF, respectively.

  • A FEM model of the remote-field eddy current effect is presented for zirconium-2.5 percent niobium(Zr-2.5%Nb) nuclear reactor pressure tubes to demonstrate the important electromagnetic field phenomena. This model is applied to evaluate the optimal operating frequency and detector position. There are many ambiguous experimental results connected with this technique. Finite element calculations can be used in the interpretation of these experimental results even though the electromagnetic fields measured in the remote-field technique are very small.

  • This paper presents an analytical evaluation of a hybrid direct-sequence/slow frequencyhopped code division multiple-access (DS/SFH-CDMA) system employing noncoherent M-ary frequency shift keying(MFSK) modulation in a multiple Nakagami fading (m) environment. Multipath interference (MPI) and multi-access interference (MAI) is taken into account and the spectral efficiency is calculated for uncoded as well as channel coding systems. Predetection multipath maximal ratio combining (MRC) diversity in conjunction with interleaved channel coding (Hamming(7,4) code, BCH(15, 7) code and RS (7, 4), (15, 9)) code ) is employed for improving the bit error rate (BER) performance. The BER of noncoherent hybrid system is obtained using a Gaussian interference approximation.

  • In this research, we report all the elements are placed in the space above the patient table as a transmit coil to give optimized B1+ field for the body object. Through the simulations, we compared upper-and-lower parts combined 8 channel Tx array to upper only 8 channel Tx array and showed the utilities of B1+ shimming in multi-channel Tx body imaging at 3T. Half-cylinder shaped upper array shows weak B1+ field area around back of patient without B1+ shimming. After B1+ shimming, highly induced SAR places occurred in the arm region due to the close distance to the both end elements which were driven by very high RF current to enhance B1+ in back area. The proposed upper and lower combined array provides an enhanced homogeneous B1+ field in large ROI imaging as a result of shimming over the body size phantom. Through this research we proved the usefulness of the proposed insertional upper and lower parts combined transmit array for 3T body imaging.

But Binary-CDMA is necessity that react very sensitively in environment change as defense about hacking and cracking of various way that change suddenly. Therefore, this paper is that see added cryptographic algorithm for safety and easy update on correlator that a bottle-neck phenomenon is happened in Binary-CDMA to solve problem that is such. Added cryptographic algorithm does to communicate safe information in channel that is not safe as that achieve 1:1 confrontation for sensors by symmetric cryptographic algorithm.

  • Magnetic field sensors made from superconducting quantum interference device (SQUID) are the most sensitive low-frequency sensors available, enabling measurements of extremely weak magnetic fields from the brain. Neuromagnetic measurements allow superior spatial resolution, compared with the present electric measurements, and superior temporal resolution, compared with the fMRl and PET, providing useful informations for the functional diagnoses of the brain. We developed a 4-channel SQUID system for neuromagnetic applications. The main features of the system are its simple readout electronics and compact pickup coil structure. A magnetically shielded room has been constructed for the reduction of environmental magnetic noises. The developed SQUID system has noise level lower than the magnetic noise from the brain. Magnetic field signals of the spontaneous r-rhythm activity and auditory evoked magnetic fields have been measured.
