Studying the Differences in the Effects of Theoretical and Practical, Face-to-face and Virtual Teaching Methods on Entrepreneurship and Willingness to Start a Business: University Students During the Coronavirus Pandemic (이론 및 실습, 대면 및 비대면 교육 방식이 기업가정신과 창업의지에 미치는 효과 차이 연구: 코로나 펜데믹 상황의 대학생들을 대상으로)

  • This study analyzed the differences in the effects on entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial willingness of college students under the coronavirus pandemic by dividing theoretical education into practical education, face-to-face education, and non-face-to-face education, and analyzed the differences in the effects on entrepreneurship and entrepreneurship willingness according to the education method. This study conducted entrepreneurship education for 552 students at a comprehensive university in Chungcheong-do, Korea, and analyzed the sample by dividing it into theoretical and practical education, face-to-face education, and non-face-to-face education. In addition, a two-way repeated measures ANOVA was conducted to determine whether there were differences in the entrepreneurship education course operation form according to the pre- and post-education time points. The results showed that, first, the difference between the effectiveness of entrepreneurship education before and after theoretical and practical education was significant, and the entrepreneurship of practical education was higher than that of theoretical education after education. In the test of pre- and post-training differences in entrepreneurial intention, the difference in effectiveness was significant only in practical training. Second, the results of the repeated measures ANOVA analysis of the course operation type of theoretical and practical courses according to the difference between the pre- and post-education time points showed that there were differences in the entrepreneurship effectiveness of theoretical and practical courses according to the time point of education. Third, the difference in the effectiveness of entrepreneurship education according to face-to-face and non-face-to-face education was significant, and only the effect of non-face-to-face education on entrepreneurial intention was significant before and after education. Fourth, the results of repeated measures ANOVA analysis of face-to-face and non-face-to-face course operation type showed that the effect of face-to-face and non-face-to-face entrepreneurship education differed depending on the time of education. The pre-post difference in entrepreneurial intention was significant only for the non-face-to-face program. The implication of this study is that in order to increase the effectiveness of entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial will among university students, it is necessary to expand the amount of practical classes in which students actively participate in activities related to entrepreneurship. In addition, in order to increase the effectiveness of entrepreneurial will, a non-face-to-face education method that utilizes the metaverse space and increases the role of each student can contribute to increasing the effectiveness of entrepreneurial will.

The immune enhancement effect of Nelumbo nucifera Gaertner Seed Extract (NSE) in murine macrophage RAW 264.7 cells (RAW 264.7 대식세포에서 연자육 추출물(Nelumbo nucifera Gaertner Seed Extract, NSE)의 면역 증강 효과)

  • Since the global shock caused by COVID-19, interest in immune-enhancing materials is rapidly increasing, therefore, the development of novel materials is necessary from the industrial and health perspectives. In this study, we selected Nelumbo nucifera Gaertner Seed Extract (NSE) and evaluated immune enhancement effect by using RAW 264.7 murine macrophage cells. NSE significantly up-regulated production of nitric oxide and reactive oxygen species without affecting cell viability in RAW 264.7 cells. Additionally, NSE exhibited an increase of inducible nitric oxide synthase and cyclooxygenase-2 expression in RAW 264.7 cells. The enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay results showed that NSE-treatment significantly enhanced production of interleukin 6 and tumor necrosis factor-α in RAW 264.7 cells. Furthermore, we observed that NSE significantly up-regulated phosphorylation of p65, I kappa B kinase α/β, and I kappa B (IκB) α as well as down-regulation of IκB α expression in RAW 264.7 cells. Our findings indicate that NSE could be the potential health-functional food material with capacity of improving immunity via Nuclear factor-kappa B signaling pathway.

  • Research purpose : The purpose of this study is to support specialized education in the fields of Christian broadcasting, culture, video, and art to provide learning opportunities for content production and creators, and to inform prospective creators of Christian content production and talent cultivation, church education, and the correct values ??of Christianity through media. Research content and method : With this purpose, we will first examine the situation of the COVID-19 pandemic and the Korean church. Then, we will present the results of supporting specialized education in the fields of broadcasting, culture, video, and art implemented by the Campustown Business Group of Church Induk University to provide youth with learning opportunities for content production and creators, and to see how it helped in the creation of prospective creators and the cultivation of talent.   • The importance of smart learning is increasing as the speed of development of non-face-to-face services increases due to the influence of COVID-19. This study is the user satisfaction evaluation model that utilizes the causal relationship between variables used for evaluation, focusing on the usability evaluation results of the learning disability intervention service (www.basic-edu.net) according to the need to evaluate the use satisfaction of the smart learning system. To this end, theoretical studies were conducted on smart learning and learning disability intervention services, www.basic-edu.net, usability evaluation of learning disability intervention systems, and use satisfaction evaluation models. And based on the results, a hypothesis was presented on the user satisfaction evaluation model of the smart learning system. The experimental method allowed 40 students and parents across the country to use the www.basic-edu.net service and was evaluated for its usability. In addition, using this data, the hypothesis was verified using regression analysis based on four variables: ease of use, interest, self-learning, and satisfaction with use. As a result of the hypothesis verification, it was found that the causal relationship of all hypotheses from H1 to H4 was significant.

Preparation of an Inactivated Influenza Vaccine Using the Ethanol Extracts of Medical Herbs (한약재 식물 에탄올추출물을 이용한 인플루엔자 불활화백신 제작)

  • As seen in the COVID-19 pandemic, unexpected emergence of new viruses presents serious concern on public health. Especially, the absence of effective vaccines or antiviral drugs against emerging viruses significantly increases the severity of disease and duration of viral circulation among population. Natural products have served as a major source for safe and effective antiviral drugs. In this study, we examined the virucidal activity of medical herb extracts with a view to discover novel antiviral agents with desired levels of safety and antiviral efficacy. Ethanol extracts of ten selected medical herbs were tested for antioxidant activity and in-vitro cytotoxicity in various animal cell lines. Of note, the herbal extracts showed broad and potent virucidal activities against rotavirus, hepatitis A virus, and influenza A virus. The extracts of Sorbus commixta and Glycyrrhiza uralensis showed strong virucidal activities against influenza A virus. We also examined whether the extracts of Sorbus commixta and Glycyrrhiza uralensis can be used as inactivating agents to prepare an inactivated viral vaccine. In a mouse model, influenza A virus inactivated by the extracts elicited high levels of neutralizing antibodies, and the vaccination provided complete protection against lethal challenge. These results suggest that herb-derived natural products can be developed to antiviral drugs as well as inactivating agents for preparation of inactivated viral vaccines.
