Implementation of 3D Road Surface Monitoring System for Vehicle based on Line Laser (선레이저 기반 이동체용 3차원 노면 모니터링 시스템 구현)

  • Road surface measurement is an essential process for quantifying the degree and displacement of roughness in road surface management. For safer road surface management and quick maintenance, it is important to accurately measure the road surface while mounted on a vehicle. In this paper, we propose a sophisticated road surface measurement system that can be measured on a moving vehicle. The proposed road surface measurement system supports more accurate measurement of the road surface by using a high-performance line laser sensor. It is also possible to measure the transverse and longitudinal profile by matching the position information acquired from the RTK, and the velocity adaptive update algorithm allows a manager to monitor in a real-time manner. In order to evaluate the proposed system, the Gocator laser sensor, MRP module, and NVIDIA Xavier processor were mounted on a test mobile and tested on the road surface. Our evaluation results demonstrate that our system measures accurate profile base on the MSE. Our proposed system can be used not only for evaluating the condition of roads but also for evaluating the impact of adjacent excavation.

An Adaptive FIHS Fusion Using Spatial and Spectral Band Characteristics of Remote Sensing Image (위성 영상의 공간 및 분광대역 특성을 활용한 적응 FIHS 융합)

  • Owing to its fast computing capability for fusing images, the FIHS(Fast Intensity Hue Saturation) fusion is widely used for fusion purposes. However, the FIHS fusion also distorts color in the same way such as the IHS(Intensity Hue Saturation) fusion technique. In this paper, a FIHS fusion technique(FIHS-BR) which reduces color distortion by using the ratio of each spectral band and an adaptive FIHS fusion(FIHS-SABR) using spatial information and the ratio of each spectral band are proposed. The proposed FIHS-BR fusion reduces color distortion by adding different spatial detail improvement values for each spectral band. The spatial detail improvement values are derived from the ratio of spectral band. And the proposed FIHS-SABR fusion reduces more color distortion by readjusting the spatial detail improvement values for each spectral band according to the ratio of the spectral bands. The spatial detail improvement values are derived adaptively from the characteristics of spatial information of the local image. To evaluate the performance of the proposed FIHS-BR fusion and FIHS-SABR fusion, a computer simulation is performed for IKONOS remote sensing image. Results from the experiments show that the proposed methods have less color distortion for the forest regions which reveal severe color distortion in the traditional FIHS fusion. From the evaluation results of the characteristics of spectral information for fused image, we show that the proposed methods have best results.

  • With the growth of Cloud computing, it is important to consider resource management techniques to minimize the overall costs of management. In cloud environments, each host's utilization and virtual machine's request based on user preferences are dynamic in nature. To solve this problem, efficient allocation method of virtual machines to hosts where the classification of virtual machines and hosts is undetermined should be studied. In reducing the number of active hosts to reduce energy consumption, thresholds can be implemented to migrate VMs to other hosts. By using Fuzzy logic in classifying resource requests of virtual machines and resource utilization of hosts, we proposed an adaptive VM allocation and migration approach. The allocation strategy classifies the VMs according to their resource request, then assigns it to the host with the lowest resource utilization. In migrating VMs from overutilized hosts, the resource utilization of each host was used to create an upper threshold. In selecting candidate VMs for migration, virtual machines that contributed to the high resource utilization in the host were chosen to be migrated. We evaluated our work through simulations and results show that our approach was significantly better compared to other VM allocation and Migration strategies.

Input Signal Model Analysis for Adaptive Beamformer (적응 빔형성기의 입력신호 모델 분석)

  • Containing an Angle-of-Arrival(: AOA) estimation and interference suppression techniques, an adaptive beamformer is one of core techniques for the Signal Intelligence(: SIGINT) which collect various intelligence utilizing cutting edge devices including the radar and satellite. It generates a beam with the directivity in a corresponding direction, to efficiently receive a signal from the specific direction, using antenna array. In this paper, we present the received signal model including interference signals and noise, which can be applied to an input of the signal intelligence satellite system equipped with the AOA estimation and the interference cancellation techniques, and analysis the characteristics of various signals, which can be included in the proposed received signal model. This proposed signal model can be directly applied to the performance evaluation for a variety of beamforming techniques. Also, we verify the spectrum characteristic of the presented received signal model in the frequency domain through computer simulation examples.

Implementation and Performance Analysis of An Optimal Energy Management System Using Data Inference and Cloud Hosting Scheme (데이터추론 및 클라우드 호스팅 기법을 활용한 최적 에너지 관리시스템 구현 및 성능분석)

  • In this paper, we propose an optimal energy management system using the data inference scheme and the cloud hosting technique in order to improve the efficiency of the energy management. We have been interested in the issue that the energy-saving and efficient management techniques are very useful for reducing the production and supply of energy. The energy management system refers to the control and management system in order to enable the efficient use of energy and also to maintain a comfortable and functional working environment effectively with the help of a computer. The proposed system controls a variety of equipment for energy management, and also gets the data for the inference from the changes in energy consumption environment, which is implemented to enable efficient energy management by adapting and controlling the changes optimally in the working environment. In order to evaluate the performance of the implemented system, some experiments have been performed under consideration of the monthly electric power consumption on the server that the inference engine is operating for the target facilities. Finally, the results show that the proposed system has a good performance.

  • 최근 프로젝터의 보편화로 인해 프로젝터를 증강현실의 디스플레이 장치로 활용하는 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 관련 연구들을 흔히 프로젝션 기반 증강현실이라고 부른다. 프로젝션 기반 증강현실을 구현하기 위해서는 스크린의 기하(geometry) 및 컬러(photometry) 정보를 획득하는 과정이 선행되어야 하는데, 이는 프로젝터를 이용하여 정해진 패턴 영상을 투사하고 이를 카메라로 캡쳐한 후, 카메라 영상에 다양한 컴퓨터비전 기술들을 적용함으로써 행해진다. 이러한 스크린 기하 및 컬러 정보 획득 기술은 가시적인(visible) 패턴 영상이 사용자의 몰입감을 저해한다는 단점을 가진다. 특히, 스크린의 기하 및 컬러 정보가 수시로 변하는 환경에서는 가시적인 패턴 영상을 사용하는 기존의 스크린 기하 및 컬러 정보 획득 기술은 유용하지 못하다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위해 일부 패턴 영상을 비가시적(invisible)으로 만드는 기술들이 제안되었다. 본 논문에서는 관련 기술들을 비간섭 프로젝션 기반 증강현실이라고 한다. 특히, 보색 패턴(complementary patterns)을 증강현실 영상에 삽입하는 방법은 부가적인 장비없이 간단한 영상처리만으로 효과적으로 패턴 영상을 비가시적으로 만들어 줄 수 있으며, 최근 가상 스튜디오에 활용하는 방안이 모색되고 있다. 그러나, 삽입된 보색 패턴의 세기와 비가시성 사이는 상반관계(trade-off)를 가지므로, 일반적인 환경에서는 보색 패턴의 비가시성을 보장할 수 없다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 보색 패턴의 비가시성을 극대화하기 위해 컨텐츠 적응형 패턴 삽입 기술을 제안한다. 증강현실 영상의 색감 및 텍스처의 복잡도에 따라 크게 4 가지 경우로 분류하여 부분적으로 다른 채널 및 세기로 보색 패턴을 삽입한다. YIQ 컬러 공간에서 표현된 증강현실 영상을 균일한 크기의 영역으로 나눈 다음, 각 영역에 대해 I 성분이 지배적이면 Q 채널에 패턴을 삽입하고 Q 성분이 지배적이면 I 채널에 패턴을 삽입한다. 한편, 각 영역에 대해 텍스처의 복잡도가 크다면 강한 패턴을, 복잡도가 작으면 약한 패턴을 삽입한다. 여기서, 텍스처의 복잡도는 간단한 미분 필터(derivative filter)를 이용하여 계산된다. 다양한 실험 및 사용자 평가를 통해, 제안된 방법은 기존 방법에 비해 크게 두 가지 상반관계를 가지는 장점을 가짐을 확인하였다. 스크린의 기하 및 컬러 정보를 획득하는 성능 면에서 제안된 방법이 기존의 방법과 유사하도록 채널 및 패턴의 세기를 결정한다면, 기존의 방법에 비해 패턴의 비가시성이 크게 개선된다. 반대로, 제안된 방법의 패턴의 비가시성이 기존의 방법과 유사하도록 채널 및 패턴의 세기를 결정한다면, 기존의 방법에 비해 스크린의 기하 및 컬러 정보를 획득하는 성능이 크게 개선된다.

Simulation of Sustainable Co-evolving Predator-Prey System Controlled by Neural Network

  • Artificial life is used in various fields of applied science by evaluating natural life-related systems, their processes, and evolution. Research has been actively conducted to evolve physical body design and behavioral control strategies for the dynamic activities of these artificial life forms. However, since co-evolution of shapes and neural networks is difficult, artificial life with optimized movements has only one movement in one form and most do not consider the environmental conditions around it. In this paper, artificial life that co-evolve bodies and neural networks using predator-prey models have environmental adaptive movements. The predator-prey hierarchy is then extended to the top-level predator, medium predator, prey three stages to determine the stability of the simulation according to initial population density and correlate between body evolution and population dynamics.

Efficiency Evaluation of Genetic Algorithm Considering Building Block Hypothesis for Water Pipe Optimal Design Problems (상수관로 최적설계 문제에 있어 빌딩블록가설을 고려한 유전 알고리즘의 효율성 평가)

  • In a genetic algorithm, computer simulations are performed based on the natural evolution process of life, such as selection, crossover, and mutation. The genetic algorithm searches the approximate optimal solution by the parallel arrangement of Schema, which has a short definition length, low order, and high adaptability. This study examined the possibility of improving the efficiency of the optimal solution by considering the characteristics of the building block hypothesis, which are one of the key operating principles of a genetic algorithm. This study evaluated the efficiency of the optimization results according to the gene sequence for the implementation in solving problems. The optimal design problem of the water pipe was selected, and the genetic arrangement order reflected the engineering specificity by dividing into the existing, the network topology-based, and the flowrate-based arrangement. The optimization results with a flowrate-based arrangement were, on average, approximately 2-3% better than the other batches. This means that to increase the efficiency of the actual engineering optimization problem, a methodology that utilizes clear prior knowledge (such as hydraulic properties) to prevent such excellent solution characteristics from disappearing is essential. The proposed method will be considered as a tool to improve the efficiency of large-scale water supply network optimization in the future.

  • There are two kind of system in hotel for evaluating management. the first is infra system, for example Front management system - reservation system, C/I, C/O system, POS system , web system, call center management -, Back office system, interface system, and so on which manage direct control for hotel, and next is strategic system, for example BSC , CS . which is supporting hotel management. The purpose of this study was to find using the Balanced Scorecard to evaluate hotel management perfomance. Management performance is based on productivity, quality, time, effect, and responsiveness. Hotel economic value is not equal visual asset which is measured financial value. It is include hotel brand, image, customers who have good loyalty, employees who give customers special service, and systems which was affected by internal process. In conclusion, innovation, growth, internal system process, empioyee and customer have effect hotel performance. Therefore hotel has to know non-financial performance which has positively relate to financial performance.

An Instruction-learning Model through the Cyber Home Learning System 2.0 for Elementary Social Studies Underachievers (초등학교 사회과 학습부진학생을 위한 사이버 가정학습 2.0 교수학습모형 연구)

  • This study tried to propose an optimal instruction-learning model for the cyber home learning system2.0 through grounded theory. In-depth interviews were conducted to investigate causes of underachievement and the causes were categorized according to common concepts. A total of 25 causes of underachievement could be grouped into four categories and eight sub-categories, as a result. Underachievers, then, participated in the lessons utilizing the cyber home learning system2.0 and their cognitive change process about learning was analyzed from reflectional journals and in-depth interviews with a teacher. It was found that underachievers were participated in learning by passing through 5 processes; adaptation to the cyber home learning system2.0, basic knowledge learning, task implementing, rounds of group discussions, feedbacks and evaluation. Based on analysis of these five processes, this study proposed a conditional matrix for the cyber home learning system 2.0 as the most personalized model for underachieving students.
