A Instructional Contents Creator using Wavelet for Lossless Image Compression (웨이브렛 기반 무손실 압축 방법을 사용한 동영상 강의 콘텐츠 제작기 구현)

  • In order to easily create video tutorials, the algorithm is needed that video camera recording, white board images, video attachments, and document data are combined in real-time. In this study, we implemented the video lecture content creation system using wavelet-based lossless compression to composite multimedia objects in real-time and reproduce the images. Using commercially available PC can be useful when lecturers want to make video institutional contents, it can be operated easily and fastly. Therefore, it can be very efficient system for e-Learning and m-Learning. In addition, the proposed system including multimedia synthesis technology and real-time lossless compression technology can be applied to various fields, different kinds of multimedia creation, remote conferencing, and e-commerce so there are highly significant.

  • Internet accelerates the speed of Information society causing changes the method and purpose of education. The word "life-long learning" is no longer a new tenn for many of the world citizens, and they ask for a system to fulfill their need to learn. Information communication technology enables and provides technical base for such needs. Web based cyber education, especially, is known to be an important and alternative instructional method to mediate learning at a distance. At the present, however, with the breakneck pace of growth and interests on Web-based distance education, there are no guidelines provided to assure the quality. In this study, we have identified guiding principles to design and develop quality assurance model for effective distance education. This is critical, especially in Korea, since 9 distance. education institutions have been accredited to offer degree programs starting 2001 spring semester. Using this model, distance education providers and consumers can develop or select effective on-line courses.

Analysis of Factors to Measure Information Communication Ethics of Adolescents Using Delphi and AHP (Delphi와 AHP를 활용한 청소년의 정보통신윤리 의식 측정 요인 분석)

  • The goal of the education of Information Communication Ethics(ICE) is to improve the consciousness level of adolescents so that they themselves are able to judge between what's ethically right and wrong and, as a result, to take the right behavior. For this, we need to preferentially identify the primary factors in understanding and diagnosing the consciousness level of adolescents on the ICE. To solve this problem, in this paper, we identified four major indices that consist of the ICE consciousness through the meta analysis of the both domestic and international researches from the past 5 years in the related area and then, they are validated by experts. We also analyzed the factors in assessing the ICE consciousness level of adolescents by using the Delphi technique, which, during its analysis, even considers elements that are qualitative or cannot be objectified. Finally we deduced 22 ICE factors given the weight through the AHP of an expert group that consists of experienced teachers and professors in the related area.

  • This study is to propose a problem bank of problem solving programming using Online Judge System as one of the ways to motivate learners and increase for immersion to students who take Data Structure lecture that is the basis of problem solving ability using information science. In order to do this, we developed a question bank for each major topic in the Data Structure, by developing 70 problem solving programming problems suitable for the main topics of the Data Structure. By mounting it on an Online Judge System and applying to actual classes, and by analyzing the motivation for learning and the degree of immersion according to the result after the application of the lesson, we propose a teaching-learning contents and usage for problem solving programming and Data Structure classes at the teacher training university which give motivation for learning and immerse in problem solving programming.

The Effect of Blended Learning on Learning Achievement of Computer Education in High School (블렌디드 학습이 고등학교 전산교육의 학업성취도에 미치는 효과)

  • The aim of this study is to identify the effect that the blended learning has on the learning achievement of computer education in high school. To get the goal, 136 students were allocated into the experiment group(68 students) with the blended class and the control group(68 students) with the traditional face-to-face class. After identifying the homogeneity of two groups in learning achievement by analyzing the pre-test, the experiment was performed. The result of this research is as follows. Significant difference was found in the learning achievement of post-test between the experiment group and the control group (t=-3.16, p=.0019). This result underlies the potential of blended learning in computer education. It will be important for designing the class for computer education in high school.

  • The environment of education has been undergoing dramatic developments in recent years with the development of information technology such as digital information transfer, storage and communication methods. Education and training technology is constantly evolving and growing. Because we continually meet the new and interesting advances in our world. The evolution in education and training at a distance can be characterized as a move from traditional learning to u-learning. This paper concerns with the application of u-based education methodology for people with disabilities targeting to empower them. Instead of the classic educational support such as extended time to take exams, a reader and/or scribe to assist with exams and note taking services. In this paper, we introduce the definition of inclusion and disabilities which does not been fully understood what they mean and then possible implementing materials which can empower the students with disabilities with accomplishments. We would like to point out that we concentrate on the aspects of instructional science particularly related with inclusive classes.

  • As the importance of learner-centered ICT education is emphasized, school education should move toward the direction of respecting individual learners' capability rather than fitting learners into a fixed frame. Such a view finds its theoretical ground in Gardner's multiple intelligences theory. Thus ICT literacy education in elementary school also needs to consider individual student's abilities and talents based on their multiple intelligences and apply appropriate education programs and teaching methods. In order to provide basic materials for this, the present study examined the correlation between children's academic achievement in ICT literacy education and their multiple intelligences and inquired into which intelligences are factors determining achievement in ICT literacy education. According to the results. logical-mathematical intelligence is in a significant correlation with academic achievement in ICT literacy education. and logical-mathematical intelligence and linguistic intelligence are the most influential factors on academic achievement in ICT literacy education.

  • Although distance education system based on WBI theory has already been generalized in domestic universities and some private academical institutes, the use of the system in the real fields of schools is in the early stage now. In this paper, we develop a model of English learning system for middle school students and improve students' learning methods through the system. The system also makes students study all the learning topics which they choose in the system freely and repeatedly. It was applied to the middle school students. The analysis of the application showed the following results. First, it was very effective for students to achieve the learning objectives of the course of English. Second, the system made students improve their abilities to study English and also increase their abilities to surf the Internet and glean useful information. Third, the system made it possible for students to accomplish individual learning.

  • The 2015 revised national curriculum emphasizes software education according to national and social needs for the development of computational thinking. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze meaningful factors influencing the development of computational thinking ability, as well as researches on various teaching, learning and evaluation methods. The purpose of this study is to analyze secondary school students' computational thinking ability in the Bebras challenge 2017 tasks and the participants' results of the challenge, and to figure out the differences according to factors such as evaluation area, gender, and region. The results of this study are meaningful to understand the factors for the development of computational thinking and to suggest directions for the improvement of Bebras challenge as a evaluation tool for computational thinking ability.

A Study on e-Mentoring system Design for Guiding Learning After School (방과 후 학습지도를 위한 전자멘토링 시스템 설계방안)

  • The instruction based on mass production system has contributed to the materialistic abundance, but it caused the innate target of education, development of 'holistic human beings' to be lost. Accordingly, the mentoring has been highlighted as an alternative instructional method because it can support learners in the aspect of cognitive and affective domain. On the other hand, as an effort of overcoming time and place constraints of face-to-face mentoring, e-mentoring is being required. This research aims to propose the e-mentoring system design plan for guiding learning after school, which may support face-to-face mentoring. Based on literature reviews, the direction of design was set and the necessary functions were drawn. e-Mentoring system design plan proposed in this article may be helpful to practitioners who are interested in the enhancement of effectiveness and efficiency of mentoring programs. Also it is required that more practical study should be performed for developing the system and testing its effectiveness.
