An Instructional Method of Computer Algorithm Concept using Elementary Mathematics Problems (초등 수학문제를 이용한 컴퓨터 알고리즘 개념에 대한 교수방법)

  • Algorithm is a fundamental concept for all related research areas in computer science. Though many researches have paid attention to computer algorithm in solving applied problems, few researches have been conducted on how to effectively instruct the computer algorithm concept. This paper proposed the instructional method for the computer algorithm concept by using mathematics problems of the fourth grade, elementary school. We have applied our the instructional methodology to classroom, and empirically tested the effectiveness of our methodology. The results show that the effectiveness of instructional method, compared to the traditional instructional methodology.

  • Presently, elementary school students take coercive action in case error or fault happens while they are using computers. These action are caused by lack of comprehension about basic computer concepts. In this paper, we propose an instructional method for basic computer concepts based on various instructional method. To estimate the effect of proposed method, a class over 16 phases is performed. We show that a effect of class and necessity of development of instructional learning method for basic computer concepts education in elementary schools on the basis of result that analyze reaction of students after class.

  • For teaching-learning activities to be effective, the teaching methods need to reflect the contents of instructional materials and the characteristics of the learners. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the effective ways of teaching computer programming languages. The main components of teaching computer programming languages might be the characteristics of the language itself, the function of design, and general problem-solving capacity. But the analysis of the Quality and environments of learners is much more important. To improve the Quality of teaching computer programming languages, the structured syllabus needs to be provided and a variety of teaching methods such as project-based approach, problem-based approach, cooperative learning, peer tutoring and case study should be applied selectively, depending upon the instructional situations. In addition, procedural and constructive evaluation process needs to be developed to monitor each stage of learning and to give the guidelines of completing the course projects.

An Analysis on the Current Status of ICT Uses in Higher Education (대학교 정보통신기술 활용 실태 분석)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the current status of information and communications technology(ICT) uses of the faculty members at national universities of education and to provide guidelines for ICT in education. The survey was conducted to examine factors related to the use of ICT, including faculty members' abilities to use ICT with respect to gender, age, and previous experiences with computers and to analyze their relevance to instructional methods. The results of the survey showed that female faculty members and male faculty members in their sixties and those with less years of teaching career were more likely to need support for using ICT than the others. The direct instructional method and discussion were the most frequently used; discussion was positively correlated with ICT uses. It was also found that faculty members anticipated more difficulties in using ICT in class and needed to work in a collaborative way and learn more effective use of ICT in the teaching and learning process.

(Study on Efficient Teaching Methods Using Multi-Media) (멀티미디어를 이용한 효율적인 교수방법에 관한 연구)

  • This study suggests the most efficient teaching method by using multi-media. Based on the outcome of the engineering study, the multi-media and their contents will be applied to teaching methods, at first needing to provide concept and educational expecting effect of them. For multi-media using teaching methods, the study suggests the following 4; (1) teaching method for instructional learning, (2) teaching method for detective learning by guild, (3) teaching method for receptive loaming, (4) teaching method for exploration. Challenges still remained is to examine principles of teaching planning and relevant theories in order to apply the multi-media for the existing education, which should ask teachers in field to select more efficient teaching methods.

  • 지식을 스스로 찾아내고, 정리하는 능동적인 학습자 중심의 참여 교육이 강조되기 시작했기에 교육현장에서는 이를 뒷받침하기 위해서 기존의 교수법이 아닌 새로운 창의적인 교수법이 필요하게 되었다. 하지만 컴퓨터 교육에 있어서 그와 같은 교수법 관련 연구가 미흡한 실정이다. 그리하여 본 연구에서 초등학교의 컴퓨터 교수법의 실태를 분석하고, 실제 초등학교 현장의 교수 학습 활동에서 활용할 수 있는 방법을 개발하고자 하였다. 본 논문은 창의적 교수법을 초등학교 학생들의 수준에 맞추어 적용할 수 있는 방안을 제시하였다. 그래서 활동 결과 학생들이 컴퓨터 학습에 지속적으로 흥미를 갖도록 하며, 자기 주도적으로 문제를 해결할 수 있는 능력을 기르고자 하는데 목적을 두었다. 본 연구를 통해 창의적 교수법을 개발하여 실제 교육현장에서 적용해 보고자 하는 교사들과 컴퓨터와 친해져서 자기 주도적 학습을 하려는 초등학생들에게 도움이 되기를 기대해 본다.

  • 본 논문에서는 학습자들의 학습능력 향상을 위해 구성주의 능력기반 교수학습 설계 모형을 제안한다. 구성주의 능력기반 교수학습 설계 모형에서는 과거 내용 전달 위주의 교수설계와는 차별화된 방법을 적용한다. 본 모형에서는 먼저, 학습자들이 갖추어야 할 학습능력을 규명한다. 이후 규명된 학습능력을 일정 기간 이후 평가할 평가 방법을 결정한다. 학습능력과 그 능력을 평가할 수 있는 방법을 결정한 이후 실제 수업을 진행한다. 본 모형의 주요 특징은 세 가지이다. 첫째, 단순히 내용 전달 위주의 교수설계 방법이 아닌 학습자들에게 실질적인 학습능력을 형성시켜주는 교수학습설계 전략이다. 둘째, 학습자들이 형성해야 할 학습능력을 기초능력과 핵심능력으로 나누어 단계적으로 제시한다. 셋째, 학습자들의 학습능력을 향상시켜줄 수 있는 방안을 구성주의적 차원에서 제시한다.

A Study on the Teaching Method of Mobile Platform App Development for Improving Computing Thinking (컴퓨팅 사고력 향상을 위한 모바일 플랫폼 앱 개발 교수·학습 방법 연구)

  • Not only learners majoring in computer science, but also non-engineered learners want to implement their ideas as apps through real-life problems. In response, first-year university students with little experience in creating apps studied how to develop mobile platform apps to improve computing thinking skills. We applied the teaching and learning procedures of the Discovery-Design-Development among the software teaching and learning models, and used Android Studio Unified Development Environment (IDE) as a development tool to design mobile platform app development projects and assess whether they helped improve computing thinking skills. The application of the designed teaching and learning method found that the project output was implemented as an app through emulator, which gave students high interest in class and satisfaction, and was effective in improving their computing thinking ability.

  • 본 연구에서는 현재와 미래사회의 핵심역량이 될 컴퓨팅 사고력을 학생들에게 가르치기 위한 정보 교사의 교수내용지식에 어떠한 특성이 있는지를 탐구하였다. 이전의 컴퓨터 교과는 일상적인 컴퓨터 기능을 가르치는데 집중하여 교사의 교수내용지식도 기능 전수에 큰 목적을 두고 있었다. 새로이 개정된 정보 교과는 컴퓨터 과학의 원리와 개념에 대해 학생들이 이해할 수 있는 교육방법에 대한 지식을 가져야 하고, 소프트웨어의 활용 및 소프트웨어 제작에 대한 능력과 교육 방법 또한 함께 가지고 있어야 한다.

  • 본 논문에서는 교수자에게 큰 부담을 주지 않으면서 학습 효과를 높이기 위한 방법으로 문제풀이 기반의 자발적 복습을 지원하는 교수학습 모형을 제안하고 이를 수업 운영에 적용하였다. 학습자들에게 배포한 수업내용을 복습할 수 있는 문제들로 구성한 유인물은 단순히 해당 요일의 수업을 되풀이하여 익히는 소극적 의미에서의 복습이 아니라 이전 수업 내용들 간의 연관성을 이해할 수 있도록 문제를 구성하고 학습자들의 복습시 발생하는 어려움을 해결할 수 있도록 교수 전략을 수립한다.
