Blockly webc Programming Convergent Learning System (Blockly webc 프로그래밍 융합 학습시스템)

  • Teaching programming skills is not only required for computer related departments but through the area of engineering and natural science. Moreover recently teaching programming skill is emphasized in software education for primary schools and secondary schools. Since programming ability is considered an essencial element of national competitiveness, we need programming learning system which alleviates the difficulty. We implemented Blockly webc Programming Convergent Learning System which is based on the graphic tools called Blockly by Google. Inside system problem sets for the programming beginners are embedded in the system. These problem sets are gone under more than 20 years verification and these problem sets may be used to help beginning programmers escape novice coder in short time. Blockly webc Programming Convergent Learning System together with already developed Simple Visual Language2 Programming Learning System is expected to play an important role as a programming learning system for the beginners.

The Study on Using Spreadsheet in Probability and Statistics Area of High School (고등학교 확률 통계 영역에서 스프레드시트 활용에 대한 연구)

  • This study is based on the recognition that the school mathematics education should reinforce the heuristic and constructional aspects related with discoveries of mathematical rules and understanding of mathematical concepts from real world situations as well as the deductive and formal aspects emphasizing on mathematical contents precisely. The 11th grade students of one class from a city high school with average were chosen. They were given time to learn various functions of Excel in regular classes of "Information Society and Computer" subject. They don't have difficulty using cells, mathematical functions and statistical functions in spreadsheet. Experiment was performed for six weeks and there were two hours of classes in a week. Considering the results of this research, teaching materials using spreadsheets play an important role in helping students to experience probabilistic and statistical reasoning and construct mathematical thinking. This implies that teaching materials using spreadsheet provide students with an opportunity to interact with probabilistic and statistical situations by adopting engineering which can encourage students to observe and experience various aspects of real world in authentic situations.

  • Recently, the rapid development and development of the industrial environment has changed the talent that companies need. As the educational paradigm changes, the university education should complement the problems of the lecture education method (the existing knowledge transfer method) in order to cultivate the talents needed for the corporation. In order to improve self - directed and creative problem - solving ability, new teaching and learning methods are needed. In this study, we apply flip learning in the algorithm class which is an essential curriculum of computer engineering. This group is divided into groups that are combined with theoretical and practical lessons, and groups that have applied theoretical lessons by applying flip learning, and groups that employ traditional lecture techniques. To improve learner's learning motivation and academic achievement, we propose a flip learning teaching method suitable for the algorithm subject and apply it directly to the class. Based on the results, we compare and analyze the academic achievement and learning satisfaction of learners.

  • This paper presents an internet-based self-learning educational system which can be enhancing efficiency in the learning process of Java language. The proposed self-learning educational system is called Java Web Player(JWP), which is a Java application program and is executable through Java Web Start technologies. Also, three important sequential learning processes : concept learning process, programming practice process and assessment process are integrated in the proposed JWP using Java Web Start technologies. This JWP enables the learners to achieve efficient and interesting self-learning since the learning process is designed to enhance the multimedia capabilities on the basis of various educational technologies. Furthermore, internet-based on-line voice presentation and its related texts together with moving images are synchronized for efficient language learning process. Also, a simple and useful Java compiler is included in the JWP for providing language practice environment such as coding, editing, executing and debugging Java source files. Finally, repeated practice can make the learners to understand easily the key concepts of Java language. Simple multiple choices are given suddenly to the learners while they are studying through the JWP and the test results are displayed on the message box. This assessment process is very essential to increase the learner's academic capability.

Analysis of Code Design Evaluation Methods According to Input/Output Information Conditions (입출력 정보 조건에 따른 코드 설계 평가 방법 분석)

  • In order to improve the SW convergence capabilities of university undergraduate students, methods to evaluate undergraduate students' code design capabilities should be researched along with the development of related courses. In previous studies, there were qualitative evaluation methods and quantitative relative evaluation methods for code results. In the quantitative relative evaluation method, the number of problem decomposition depth, number of function reuses, and number of functions were measured and evaluated. In this study, an evaluation method that was not presented in previous studies was proposed using the problem of presenting the number of input and output information types when designing code. The evaluation problems proposed in this paper applied up to three types of input information and three types of output information. Through this, five code design evaluation questions were presented and a method to quantitatively calculate code design scores was proposed. Codes from 100 student respondents were collected and analyzed through courses that applied the proposed evaluation method. Through result analysis, the number of problem decomposition depths was proportional to the number of types of input information, the number of function reuses was proportional to the number of types of output information, and the number of functions showed a correlation that was proportional to the total number of types of input and output information. Lastly, by analyzing the distribution of evaluation scores of 100 respondents, we demonstrated that the code design evaluation method according to the five input/output information condition evaluation problems is effective.

The Effects of Situational Context Feedbacks in Chemistry Learning with Computer-Assisted Instruction (상황맥락적인 피드백을 활용한 CAI가 화학 학습에 미치는 효과)

  • This study investigated the effects of situational context feedback in CAI upon students' conceptual understanding, science learning motivation, and the perception of CAI. Seventh graders (N = 114) from a coed middle school in Incheon were assigned to the situational context feedback CAI (SCF-CAI), the feedback CAI (F-CAI) and the CAI groups, and were taught about ‘three states of matter' and ‘motion of molecules' for 8 class hours. Prior science achievement test score used as a blocking variable. Two-way ANCOVA results revealed that the conceptual understanding test scores of the SCF-CAI group were significantly higher than those of the other groups. For the higher achievers, the scores of the F-CAI group in science learning motivation test were significantly higher than those of the CAI group. However, there was no significant difference among the lower achievers of three groups. The higher achievers in the SCFCAI and the F-CAI groups perceived the CAI more positively than those of the CAI group. The lower achievers in the FCAI group perceived the CAI more negatively than those of the other groups. Educational implications are discussed.

  • Medicine is one of great application fields where Virtual Reality (VR) technologies have been successfully utilized. The VR technologies in medicine bring together an interdisciplinary community of computer scientists and engineers, physicians and surgeon, medical educator and students, military medical specialists, and biomedical futurists. The primary feedback of a VR system has been visual feedback. The complex geometry for graphic objects and utilizing hardware acceleration can be incorporated with in order to produce realistic virtual environments. To enhance human-computer interaction (HCI), in term of immersive experiences perceived by users, haptic, speech, olfactory and other non-traditional interfaces should also be exploited. Among those, hapic feedback has been tightly coupled with visual feedback. The combination of the two sensory feedbacks can give users more immersive, realistic and perceptive VR environments. Haptic feedback has been studied over decades and many haptic based VR systems have been developed. This paper focuses on haptic feedback in term of its medical usages. It presents a survey of haptic feedback techniques with their applications in medicine.

  • In this paper, we propose an efficient method for a university mentor-mentee system to assist the completion of a student's major study in a university. The proposed system connects undergraduate students from a freshman through a senior by the cascade type, and a mentor student in a sophomore or a junior year acts as a mentee at the same time. A mentee can get help not only from his direct senior mentor but also from all his senior mentors. Based on this, all students can be organically connected to each other, and then the students in the department can establish intimate relationships among themselves, which will in turn induce a good learning environment in the major education. The proposed mentoring system has been actually applied to the department students of computer engineering. The questionnaire surveys have been conducted targeting the participated student mentors and mentees, and then the operation results of the proposed system are analyzed in this paper.

Analysis of Massive Scholarly Keywords using Inverted-Index based Bottom-up Clustering (역인덱스 기반 상향식 군집화 기법을 이용한 대규모 학술 핵심어 분석)

  • Digital documents such as patents, scholarly papers and research reports have author keywords which summarize the topics of documents. Different documents are likely to describe the same topic if they share the same keywords. Document clustering aims at clustering documents to similar topics with an unsupervised learning method. However, it is difficult to apply to a large amount of documents event though the document clustering is utilized to in various data analysis due to computational complexity. In this case, we can cluster and connect massive documents using keywords efficiently. Existing bottom-up hierarchical clustering requires huge computation and time complexity for clustering a large number of keywords. This paper proposes an inverted index based bottom-up clustering for keywords and analyzes the results of clustering with massive keywords extracted from scholarly papers and research reports.

Construct lastingness recording administration system after a performance experiment and a chase experiment that is applied in spot that attach 900MHz important duty's RFID tag. After construction practice, create link sex with connection system, security analysis and Forensic data and analyze improvement effect. Is going to contribute Ubiquitous information technology application and Forensic technology development in country documental administration through. research of this treatise.
