Extended Snake Algorithm Using Color Variance Energy (컬러 분산 에너지를 이용한 확장 스네이크 알고리즘)

  • In this paper, an extended snake algorithm using color variance energy is proposed for segmenting an interest object in color image. General snake algorithm makes use of energy in image to segment images into a interesting area and background. There are many kinds of energy that can be used by the snake algorithm. The efficiency of the snake algorithm is depend on what kind of energy is used. A general snake algorithm based on active contour model uses the intensity value as an image energy that can be implemented and analyzed easily. But it is sensitive to noises because the image gradient uses a differential operator to get its image energy. And it is difficult for the general snake algorithm to be applied on the complex image background. Therefore, the proposed snake algorithm efficiently segment an interest object on the color image by adding a color variance of the segmented area to the image energy. This paper executed various experiments to segment an interest object on color images with simple or complex background for verifying the performance of the proposed extended snake algorithm. It shows improved accuracy performance about 12.42 %.

Color Images Watermarking Based on Wavelet Transform (웨이블릿 변환 기반의 컬러영상 워터마킹)

  • This study proposes a new digital watermarking technique based on wavelet transformation on color image. First the $YC_bC_r$ coordinates obtain from RGB color space. then, the correlation of watermark is decreased by Arnold transformation. Next, watermark which has been enlarged by Linear Bit-expansion is inserted at a given intensity in Color images' low frequency sub-bands. When detecting the presence of watermark, F-norm function is applied. As a result of the various experiments on color images, the proposed watermarking technique has outstanding quality in regards to fidelity and robustness.

  • 본 논문에서는 라플라시안 피라미드를 이용하여 컬러 영상의 밝기 및 색상을 개선하는 방법을 제안한다. 제안하는 방법은 입력 영상을 라플라시안 피라미드로 구성한 후 저해상도 근사 영상을 이용하여 영상의 전체적인 밝기를 개선하고 대역 통과 영상들을 이용하여 대비를 개선한 후 입력 영상의 밝기 값에 따라 적응적으로 색상을 재현함으로써 최종적으로 컬러 영상의 화질을 개선한다. 실험 결과 제안하는 방법은 영상 조명 특성에 강인한 화질 개선 성능을 보여주었으며 동영상에 적응시에도 자연스러운 화질 개선 결과를 얻을 수 있었고 실시간 처리가 가능한 수행 속도를 보여주었다.

  • 본 논문에서는 기존의 퍼지 논리를 이용한 필터링 알고리즘의 문제점을 개선하는 동시에 컬러 영상에 적용할 수 있는 퍼지 필터 알고리즘을 제안한다. 제시된 퍼지 필터 알고리즘은 영상의 RGB 컬러 정보를 각각의 R, G, B 채널 영상으로 분리하고, 각 채널 영상에서 마스크가 위치한 기준 픽셀의 잡음 가능성 정도를 퍼지 논리에 적용하여 판단한다. 잡음 정도에 따라서 출력 영상의 화소값을 평균값 또는 중간값으로 결정한다. 제안된 방법을 잡음이 존재하는 칼라 영상에 적용한 결과, 단색 정보를 기준으로 처리하는 기존의 퍼지 필터 방법에 비해서 효과적인 것을 확인하였다.

Color Image Encryption Technique Using Quad-tree Decomposition Method (쿼드트리 분할 기술을 이용한 컬러 영상 암호화 기술)

  • Recently, various types of image contents are being produced, and interest in copyright protection technology is increasing. In this paper, we propose an image encryption technology for color images. This technique divides the image into RGB color components and then performs quad-tree decomposition based on the edge of image. After the quad-tree partitioning, encryption is performed on the selected blocks. Encryption is performed on color components to measure encryption efficiency, and encryption efficiency is measured even after reconstitution into a color image. The encryption efficiency uses a visual measurement method and an objective image quality evaluation method. The PSNR values were measured as 7~10 dB for color difference components and 16~19 dB for color images. The proposed image encryption technology will be used to protect copyright of various digital image contents in the future.

Saturation Compensating Method by Embedding Pseudo-Random Code in Wavelet Packet Based Colorization (웨이블릿 패킷 기반의 컬러화 알고리즘에서 슈도랜덤코드 삽입을 이용한 채도 보상 방법)

  • This paper proposes a saturation compensating method by embedding pseudo-random code information in wavelet packet based colorization algorithm. In the color-to-gray process, an input RGB image is converted into YCbCr images, and a 2-level wavelet packet transform is applied to the Y image. And then, color components of CbCr are embedded into two sub-bands including minimum amount of energy on the Y image. At this time, in order to compensate the color saturations of the recovered color image during the printing and scanning process, the maximum and minimum values of CbCr components of an original image are also embedded into the diagonal-diagonal sub-band by a form of pseudo-random code. This pseudo-random code has the maximum and minimum values of an original CbCr components, and is expressed by the number of white pixels. In the gray-to-color process, saturations of the recovered color image are compensated using the ratio of the original CbCr values to the extracted CbCr values. Through the experiments, we can confirm that the proposed method improves color saturations in the recovered color images by the comparison of color difference and PSNR values.

  • 본 논문에서 적외선(IR; Infrared), 자외선(UV; Ultraviolet), 가시광선(VR; Visible ray)의 영역에서 촬영한 설진 영상으로부터 가장 효과적인 설태 인식을 위한 최적 혀 영상 분석 방법을 제안한다. 제안한 방법은 설진에서 혀 영상 촬영을 위한 최적 파장 범위와 해당 파장에서 설태 분석에 최적의 컬러 영상을 선정한다. 최적 영상 선정을 위해서는 각 파장별로 촬영한 혀 영상을 LAB, HSV, YcBcR, RGB 컬러모델로 변환하고, 변환된 영상들로부터 설태와 비설태 영역의 히스토그램(Histogram)을 분석에 의해서 영역-분별력을 측정한다. 실험 결과 설진에서 설태 인식을 위한 최적 혀 영상은 자외선 영역에서의 RGB 컬러모델로 나타났다.

  • 본 논문에서는 컬러 화재영상에 포함된 화염의 색상 분석과 시공간적 특징 분석을 통하여 신뢰성 높은 화재 판정 조건을 제시한다. 이를 위하여 컬러영상에서 화염을 판정하는 컬러속성으로서 Y-휘도 성분과 Cr-색차 성분을 조합한 문턱치를 도출하고 화염 후보영역을 선정하였다. 선정된 화염 후보영역에 대해서는 화염의 공간적인 질감분석과 시간적인 동적변화를 DCT와 프레임간 휘도성분 변화량을 분석하여 최종 화염 판정 기준으로 제시하였다. 컴퓨터 모의실험 결과, 제시한 화염 판정 조건의 신뢰성과 실용성을 확인하였다.

  • In content-based video data retrieval, the representative-frame is usually used. To do that, the skill of detection for scene change is needed. Generally the color histogram comparison is used, but sensitive to light variation and tends to miss the scene change of similar color histogram. This paper shows how to use both color histogram comparison and entropy to prevent the false-positive of scene change occurred by light variation. At the experiments, il is more powerful to light variation to use both color histogram comparison entropy than to use only color histogram comparison.

  • In this letter, we propose a method for colorization based coding, which divides the colorization matrix into smaller sub-matrices using the meanshift segmentation. Using the proposed method the computation speed becomes more than 30 times faster. Furthermore, the smearing artifact, which appears in conventional colorization based compression method, is greatly reduced.
