Reflecting Academic Symposia as a Trend at Animation Festivals, Media Art Festivals and Conferences on Computer Animation (학술회 반영 경향의 애니메이션 페스티벌과 미디어 아트 페스티벌 그리고 컴퓨터 애니메이션 학회)

  • At first there was practice, then festivals and theory followed. Compared to the animation production, which is older then the medium film itself, festivals and theory in this area started with a delay. While animation programs where shown in film festivals like Cannes since the mid 1940s, the first animation festival in Annecy, France was founded in 1960, followed by several short-lived events in Romania, Italy and Tokyo and finally in 1972 by the second oldest festival up to date, Animafest Zagreb. Animation theory evolved in the late 1980s in the Anglo-American area with associations like the Society for Animation Studies, following its 'big sister' film studies. Expanding ever since as a research area, European animation studies in e.g. France, German speaking countries, Poland or Croatia have been catching up in recent years by organizing theoretical conferences and publications. A vivid synergy between practice, festivals and theory has always been a key factor for establishing a platform for the art form and culture of animation. However, in the past few years a trend could be observed towards a more intense interaction between animation festivals and theory. Animation festivals are hosting theoretical and scientific symposia or conferences, which are open for artist positions and insights into the industry. At the beginning of the lecture a short reflection of the concept of Animafest Scanner itself is followed by an introduction of the Symposium Expanded Animation at the media festival Ars Electronica Linz. The talk will subsequently focus on the multilayered academic symposia at the Festival of Animated Film ITFS and the International Conference on Animation, Effects, VR, Games and Transmedia in Stuttgart. These case studies will reveal the blurring boundaries between art, science, theory and industry as well as the specificities of the interplay between artists, practitioners, scholars, curators and festival visitors in different formats.

P2P Streaming Method for QoS-sensitive Multimedia Multicast Applications (QoS에 민감한 멀티미디어 멀티캐스트 응용을 위한 P2P 스트리밍 기법)

  • As the IP multicast function is very slowly deployed in Internet due to its scalability problem and inter-domain interoperability problem, interest in the P2P(Peer-to-Peer) streaming technologies for the realtime multimedia multicast applications such as IPTV is highly growing. This paper proposes a P2P streaming method for the QoS-sensitive multimedia multicast applications such as highly-interactive personal IPTV and video conferences. The proposed P2P streaming method allows an application to construct a reliable streaming tree in which a proper number of backup peers are placed according to its reliability requirement. The reliable streaming tree reduces the reconnection delay, occurred in the case of a normal and/or abnormal peer leave, so as to minimize the loss of streaming data. In the proposed P2P streaming method, the join delay of a peer called startup delay is also substantially reduced because the bandwidth and end-to-end delay information of every peer kept in a distributed way allows the target peer for a joining peer to be able to be quickly determined. Moreover, the proposed method's peer admission control mechanism based on the bandwidth and end-to-end delay enables the delay-bounded streaming services to be provided for its corresponding applications.

  • This study aims at developing and evaluating the cohousing teaching/learning plan for middle and high school. The plan was developed into 5 stages such as data collection and analysis, design, development, implement, and evaluation_ It was composed of 3 lessons with various teaching materials; the concept and necessity of cohousing, spatial composition, and making a cohousing village as the main theme. The 3 home economics teachers carried out the plan for 28 classrooms (1125 students) in 2 middle and I high school, during 23th, Aug., to 17th, Sep. 2010 in Kyunggido. The high level of understanding, learning processes, interest, satisfaction with the class reported by the students showed that the plan might be adequate to both high and middle school students. The teachers carried the lessons reported the similar positive responses to the plan with some suggestions to increase teaching hours, prepare class appliances, and prepractice the teaching materials.

  • Remarkable scientific and technological achievements are mainly shown in the 'super-convergence' or 'convergence of convergence' among cross- disciplinary fields, and advanced countries are promoting the 'high-risk, high-return research' ecosystem. Google LLC is carrying out numerous new challenges in terms of a non-failure perspective. Innovative research by the US Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) has produced such breakthroughs as the Internet, GPS, semiconductors, the computer mouse, autonomous vehicles, and drones. China is pioneering a 'Moon Village' and planning the world's largest nuclear fusion energy and ultra-large particle accelerator project. Japan has also launched 'the moonshot technology development research system' to promote disruptive innovation. In Korea, the government is preparing a new research program to tackle the global scientific challenges. Therefore, it is necessary to determine the reasonable geoscientific challenges to be addressed and to conduct a preliminary study on these topics. For this purpose, it is necessary to conduct long-term creative research projects centered on young researchers, select outstanding principal investigators, extract innovative topics without prior research or reference, simplify research proposal procedures, innovate the selection solely based on key ideas, and evaluate results by collective intelligence in the form of conferences.

  • Over for the past 10 years, the increase in geometric progression for the internet traffic, has allowed the IP protocol framework to be the most important network technology. In addition, the internet service is being developed as a service mode differentiated, aiming to support the new-mode real-time multimedia services such as internet phone, video conference, cyber reality, and internet game, focusing on offering a latest service. These days, aiming to solve the need for broad bandwidth along with guaranteeing QoS, the WDM technology of offering multiple gigabit wavelengths is emerging as the core technology of next-generation optical internet backbone network. In the next-generation optical internet backbone network based on WDM, the QoS framework is one of fore subjects aiming to offer a service of guaranteeing QoS This study analyzes the requirements of performance related to QoS framework in IP Subnet and in WDM optical backbone network, and suggests optical QoS service framework differentiated. in order to guarantee end-to-end QoS through the next-generation optical internet backbone network, using GMPLS control protocol.

Discovery of Genre Information on the Web (웹 상에서의 특정 장르 문서 발견)

  • 정보공유를 목적으로 제안된 웹의 활성화와 함께 유용한 정보들이 웹상에 기하급수적으로 등장함에 따라 정보공간의 확장으로 인한 검색 신뢰도의 저하 문제에 직면하게 되었다. 본 연구에서는 대용량 웹 환경하에서 사용자의 정보발견을 돕기 위해 텍스트이외의 새로운 요소들을 사용하여 특정장르문서를 발견하는 개념을 도입하였다. 먼저 사용자가 발견하고자 하는 장르의 모습을 텍스트, URL정보, 링크 정보. 문서구조 정보 등의 장르 식별요소 값을 이용해 표현한 후, 후보 문서들의 장르관련도를 측정함으로써 특정장르 문서를 검색한다. 각 장르식별요소값은 나름대로의 방법에 의해 계산되는데 $0{\sim}1$사이의 값을 가지며, 종합적인 장르관련도는 각 장르식별요소값의 증거통합 방법에 의해 구한다. 본 논문에서는 각 장르식별요소들의 역할과 장르식별요소가 장르발견에 미치는 영향을 알아보며, 최종적으로 특정 장르 문서발견에 있어서의 검색 신뢰도 향상을 보이기 위해 실험모델을 설계/구현하였다. 본 실험은 웹 문서를 대상으로 하는데, 아직까지 URL, 링크 정보를 모두 갖춘 테스트컬렉션이 없기 때문에 실험을 위해 일반적인 웹 문서로 직접 구성한 컬렉션을 사용하였다. 발견하고자 하는 장르는 "컴퓨터 분야의 컨퍼런스 홈페이지"로 정하였으며 30개의 컴퓨터 분야를 선정하였다. 비교대상으로는 일반 웹 검색 엔진인 알타비스타와 메타검색 엔진인 메타크롤러를 선택하였고. 각 질의에 대해 상위 30개의 결과를 대상으로 정확도를 평가하였다. 결과로서 각 장르식별요소들은 모두 검색 신뢰도의 향상에 기여를 하며, 제안하는 방법은 알타비스타와 메타크롤러에 비해 각각 평균적으로 67.34%, 71.78%의 검색 신뢰도 향상을 보임을 입증하였다.적응에 문제점을 가지기도 하였다. 본 연구에서는 그 동안 계속되어 온 한글과 한잔의 사용에 관한 논쟁을 언어심리학적인 연구 방법을 통해 조사하였다. 즉, 글을 읽는 속도, 글의 의미를 얼마나 정확하게 이해했는지, 어느 것이 더 기억에 오래 남는지를 측정하여 어느 쪽의 입장이 옮은 지를 판단하는 것이다. 실험 결과는 문장을 읽는 시간에서는 한글 전용문인 경우에 월등히 빨랐다. 그러나. 내용에 대한 기억 검사에서는 국한 혼용 조건에서 더 우수하였다. 반면에, 이해력 검사에서는 천장 효과(Ceiling effect)로 두 조건간에 차이가 없었다. 따라서, 본 실험 결과에 따르면, 글의 읽기 속도가 중요한 문서에서는 한글 전용이 좋은 반면에 글의 내용 기억이 강조되는 경우에는 한자를 혼용하는 것이 더 효율적이다.이 높은 활성을 보였다. 7. 이상을 종합하여 볼 때 고구마 끝순에는 페놀화합물이 다량 함유되어 있어 높은 항산화 활성을 가지며, 아질산염소거능 및 ACE저해활성과 같은 생리적 효과도 높아 기능성 채소로 이용하기에 충분한 가치가 있다고 판단된다.등의 관련 질환의 예방, 치료용 의약품 개발과 기능성 식품에 효과적으로 이용될 수 있음을 시사한다.tall fescue 23%, Kentucky bluegrass 6%, perennial ryegrass 8%) 및 white clover 23%를 유지하였다. 이상의 결과를 종합할 때, 초종과 파종비율에 따른 혼파초지의 건물수량과 사료가치의 차이를 확인할 수 있었으며, 레드 클로버 + 혼파 초지가 건물수량과 사료가치를 높이는데 효과적이었다.\ell}$ 이었으며 , yeast extract 첨가(添加)하여 배양시(培養時)는 yeast extract 농도(濃度)가 증가(增加)함

Analysis of Overseas Research Trends Related to Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Elementary, Middle and High School Education (초·중·고 교육분야의 인공지능(AI) 관련 해외 연구동향 분석)

  • This study aimed to analyze AI research trends related to elementary, middle, and high school education. To this end, the related literature was collected from the SCOPUS database and the publication period of the collected literature was from 1974 to March 2021, with 154 journal papers and 571 conference papers. Research trends were analyzed based on the co-occurrences analysis technique of 4,521 words of author keyword and index keyword included in these papers. As a result of the analysis, big data, data mining, data science and deep learning were found as the latest research trends with machine learning and there was a difference between elementary, middle and high school education. It can be seen that elementary school had a lot of robot-related research, middle school had a lot of game and data-related research, and high school had various and in-depth research. In discussion, we mapped the top 50 words common to elementary, middle, and high schools with the 'Artificial Intelligence Basics' curriculum of Korean Government and '5 Big Ideas' of the United States Government so that AI research can be viewed at a glance.

A Narrative Review of Home Modification Using Virtual Reality (가상현실 기반 가정환경 수정에 관한 내러티브 문헌 고찰)

  • This review aims to identify the virtual reality (VR)-based home modification programs and provide basic data for the future development and application of domestic VR-based home modification programs. We collected the studies of academic publication or conference, symposium addressed VR-based home modification from January 2011 to June 2021 using hand searching and databases such as Medline, Embase, and Scopus. A total of 7 studies were selected through selection criteria, and the studies were quantitative and qualitative studies on the development of VR prototype for home modification and the acceptability and usability of the programs. VR-based home modification have been developed and applied for various purposes for stakeholders involved in home modification. It can be used as the tools for fostering experts in home modification, evaluating the home environment remotely, and facilitating communication and collaboration with the stakeholders in the modification process. In the future, studies on development and feasibility of VR-based home modification program reflecting the characteristics of domestic housing should be conducted, and it is expected to be utilized as a tool to support the home modification process.

  • Recently, with the development of AR, VR, and smart device technologies, the demand for services based on non-face-to-face environments is also increasing in the fitness industry. The non-face-to-face online home training service has the advantage of not being limited by time and place compared to the existing offline service. However, there are disadvantages including the absence of exercise equipment, difficulty in measuring the amount of exercise and chekcing whether the user maintains an accurate exercise posture or not. In this study, we develop a standard exercise program that can compensate for these shortcomings and propose a new non-face-to-face home training application by using a deep learning-based body posture estimation image processing algorithm. This application allows the user to directly watch and follow the trainer of the standard exercise program video, correct the user's own posture, and perform an accurate exercise. Furthermore, if the results of this study are customized according to their purpose, it will be possible to apply them to performances, films, club activities, and conferences

Trend Forecasting and Analysis of Quantum Computer Technology (양자 컴퓨터 기술 트렌드 예측과 분석)

  • In this study, we analyze and forecast quantum computer technology trends. Previous research has been mainly focused on application fields centered on technology for quantum computer technology trends analysis. Therefore, this paper analyzes important quantum computer technologies and performs future signal detection and prediction, for a more market driven technical analysis and prediction. As analyzing words used in news articles to identify rapidly changing market changes and public interest. This paper extends conference presentation of Cha & Chang (2022). The research is conducted by collecting domestic news articles from 2019 to 2021. First, we organize the main keywords through text mining. Next, we explore future quantum computer technologies through analysis of Term Frequency - Inverse Document Frequency(TF-IDF), Key Issue Map(KIM), and Key Emergence Map (KEM). Finally, the relationship between future technologies and supply and demand is identified through random forests, decision trees, and correlation analysis. As results of the study, the interest in artificial intelligence was the highest in frequency analysis, keyword diffusion and visibility analysis. In terms of cyber-security, the rate of mention in news articles is getting overwhelmingly higher than that of other technologies. Quantum communication, resistant cryptography, and augmented reality also showed a high rate of increase in interest. These results show that the expectation is high for applying trend technology in the market. The results of this study can be applied to identifying areas of interest in the quantum computer market and establishing a response system related to technology investment.
