Assignment and Operation Sequencing for Remarshalling of a Vertical Yard Block in Automated Container Terminals (자동화 컨테이너 터미널에서 수직형 블록의 이적작업을 위한 할당 및 작업순서)

  • Remarshalling operation is one of the operations considered important in an automated container terminal to perform quickly loading operations and delivery operations. It arranges the containers scattered at a verticla yard block in order to reduce the transfer time and the rehandling time of ATC(Automated Transfer Crane)s. This paper deals with the remarshalling planning problem minimizing the weighted operation time. This problem can be decomposed into 2 subproblems, storage space assignment problem and operation sequencing problem Storage space assignment problem decides to where containers are transported in terms of transportation time cost.. With results of a previous subproblem, operation sequence problem determines the ATC operation sequence, which minimizes the dead-heading of ATC This study formulates each subproblem with mixed integer program and dynamic program. To illustrate the proposed model, we propose an instance to explain the process of remarshalling planning.

Watched how redundant works were occurring in the second yards, and presented a problem Also, present the hint point tint these redundant works analyze how productivity of quay productivity and container crane is improved if solution works, and face to this.

  • 세계 선진항만은 해운물류시장의 변화에 대응하고, 경쟁력 확보 방안으로 첨단 자동화 장비와 운영시스템 도입을 통한 자동화를 지향하고 있다. 국내 부산항 신항 또한 자동화 컨테이너터미널로 개발을 추진하고 있는 것으로 알려져 있다. 자동화 터미널은 각종 자동화 장비와 시스템이 유기적으로 구성되어 있으며, 이들의 효율적인 운영을 통해 생산성을 향상시킬 수 있다. 터미널의 안벽과 장치장 사이의 컨테이너 운송을 담당하는 이송장비는 컨테이너터미널의 핵심장비로 이의 효율적인 운영은 컨테이너터미널의 생산성과 직결되어 있다. 본 연구에서는 자동화 컨테이너터미널의 운영생산성 향상을 위한 하역장비와 이송장비의 운영방안에 대하여 연구한다. 특히 DHST(Dual Hoist Second Trolley)타입의 QC와 ASHC의 장비특성과 장비간의 연계작업을 고려하여, QC의 대기시간을 최소화하여 하역 생산성을 최대화할 수 있는 ASHC Dispatching Rule을 제시하고자 한다.

  • 지금까지의 컨테이너 터미널은 항만 하역작업에 주안점을 두고 운영되어 왔다. 그리하여 크레인 기술 향상, 장치장의 현대화 등 많은 노력을 해왔으나 21세기가 시작된 지금은 컨테이너 터미널 내부에 각각 이루어지던 작업이 통합되어진 형태로의 운영이 필요한 시점에 이르게 되었다. 국내에서 건설하려는 컨테이너 터미널은 지금까지와는 다른 형태로 건설되어야 한다. 현재 컨테이너 터미널 운영 시스템 터미널 내부에서 발생하는 전체를 총괄하지는 못한다. 크레인 모니터링, 게이트모니터링, 작업 상황 등이 모두 다르게 되어 있어서 하역작업에 관한 내용만을 모니터링하는 수준이다. 본 논문에서 서술하고자 하는 통합 모니터링은 컨테이너 터미널 내에서 관제실에서 크레인 운전 정보, 작업 지시, 상황 보고, 게이트 모니터링, 사고 예방, 사고 발생시의 경보 등을 모두 하나로 묶는 문제 파악에서 부터 해결 방안 제시 등, 첨단화된 지능을 갖춘 컨테이너 터미널을 구현하는데 필요로 하는 내용들을 서술하여 그 방법을 제시 하고자 한다.

  • One of the important tactical problems for the efficient operation of container terminals is to determine the usage of storage space There are two different strategies for stacking containers; mixing strategy. in which outbound containers and inbound containers are mixed in the same block. and segregating strategy, in which outbound containers and inbound containers are stacked in blocks different from each other. The performance of space allocation strategies also depends on the types of handling equipment in the yard and the number of handling equipment allocated to each block. A simulation model is developed considering various handling characteristics of yard cranes. Performances of various space and equipment allocation strategies are evaluated by using the simulation model.

  • In this paper, we propose the effective operating device in the container freight station by applying the RTLS (Real Time Location System) that provides information on the container's location in real time so that the performance of the port operating system can be improved. For this, we proposed the improved dual cycling method made with the new application of two types of container's location & yard tractor's location information. we applied the RTLS to the container freight station to send the container location data to the operating system in real time; we designed the data on the Yard Tractor's location to be received via the GPS receiver and then be sent to the operating system in real time via the CDMA module. According to the analysis and evaluation of the performance of the proposed method, up to 24% of performance improvement was shown compared with the existing methods, in aspect of evaluation of work time, work time deviation and performance. Therefore, we proved that the RTLS and the GPS receiver are essential elements for efficient port operation.

  • RTLS(Real Time Location System) is the system to provide information and real-time location of tagged objects by using RTLS tag. In this paper, in order to enhance the performance of the port operation system, and efficient operation method of yard is suggested by applying RFID(Radio Frequency Identification)-based RTLS that provides real-time accurate positions of containers. In the group-based loading sequence system, the containers in the same group should have the similar characteristics such as POD(Port of Destination), size, weight, etc. In order to run this system, we propose the scheme using the parameters to the unspecified N bytes of RFID tag specified in ISO 18000-7. According to simulation result, the group-based system reduces the re-handling ratio of TC(Transfer Crane) in yard. It will reduce the whole lead-time in the process of port pogistics.

  • Container terminal yards operate under a high degree of uncertainty as the contact point between inbound and outbound operations of vessels and external trucks. The layout, equipment operations. and job orders at the yards determine the efficacy and delays of the work, so many studies have investigated improvements in efficiency. H company, a container terminal operator developed an index called WDI to distribute work among RTGCs. The WDI is an indicator to prevent congestion in one place by equally distributing the work to each RTGC. This paper analyzes the effect of the WDI introduction and discusses the causes and results of the WDI introduction effect from quantitative and qualitative perspectives.

Simulation-based Evaluation of Container Stacking Strategy for Horizontal Automated Block (자동화 수평 배치 블록을 위한 시뮬레이션 기반 컨테이너 장치 전략 평가)

  • In order to increase the productivity of container terminals, automation is being considered seriously in nowadays. A yard is usually automated by running autumated RMGs (rail mounted gantries) which may require somewhat a different stacking strategy to archive a better performance. In this paper, we present a simulation model for RMGs and summarize experimental results with two different stacking strategies applied to a horizontal block which has two non-crossable RMGs. The concentrating strategy, which stacks containers belong to a single ship together and dedicateds each RMG to either ship services or external truck services, showed a good performance in ship unloading. In the contrast, the distributing strategy, which partitions a block into two regions and binds each RMG to one of the regions to improve the productivity of ship services by running each RMG alternately, is suggested for blocks of exporting.
