Effects of Consulting Characteristics on SMEs Management Performance -focusing on government supported consulting- (컨설팅 특성 요인이 중소기업의 경영성과에 미치는 영향 - 정부지원 컨설팅을 중심으로 -)

  • This study was carried out to verify the effect of consumer and supplier characteristics on the utilization of consulting results, quality of consulting service and management performance in the government-support consulting service on SMEs. A survey was conducted and analyzed on SMEs which went through government-support consulting, with the following results of the study. First, for consumer characteristics, consulting awareness was found to have positive effect on the utilization of consulting results while organizational culture have no effect. Second, for supplier characteristics, consultant capability was found to have positive effect on the quality of consulting service but with no effect of government support policy. Third, consumer characteristic of consulting result utilization and supplier characteristic of consulting service quality were both found to have positive effect on management performance. Suggestions and significance of this study are as follows: the result of this study suggests a need to increase the SMEs' understanding of consulting service and the utilization of the consulting results as well as institutional support for enhancing the capability of consultants, a provider of knowledge service. It also has significance in presenting an effective and efficient direction of policy on consulting support project for SMEs.

An empirical study for the relations between consultant's expertise and consulting knowledge transfer : Focused on FTA consulting (컨설턴트의 전문지식과 컨설팅 지식이전의 관계에 관한 경험적 연구 : FTA컨설팅을 중심으로)

  • This study empirically examined which factors facilitate or disturb the learning and practical knowledge transfer in consulting and which factors have most powerful influence on the learning and transfer of consulting knowledge. Analysing 160 data collected from FTA origin managers in export companies, the study findings show the ambiguity(-), complexity(+), consulting competences(+), intervention design and delivery(+), self-efficacy(+) and government subsidies(+) significantly affected on Client's learning, while consultant's expertise(+), consulting involvement(+), transfer culture(+) significantly affected on consulting knowledge transfer, respectively. It showed that consulting competence and causal ambiguity have an greater influence on learning while consultant's expertise has a greater influence on consulting knowledge transfer, respectively. The findings implicate that consulting success depends on rather consultant's factors(consultant's expertise and consulting competence) than client's input factors. To succeed in consulting project, it is important that the consultants effectively develop and apply consulting methods & tools as shared interfaces between consultant and client.

  • Thus this study looked into existing literature focusing on generalities, and after literature studies, hypothesis was set up to solve the problems in the study. According to literature examination, self employed consulting was found to be comprised of four areas: awareness, reliability, satisfaction, and utilization, while consulting could be divided into four customer perspectives: customer, financial, internal processing, and learning and growth. An empirical study was conducted to verify the causal relationship between these causes, and we describe the findings of the study on the business management performance pursuant to self employed business consulting as follows: In this study, we examine an overall business management performance measurement by adopting the four variables of self employed business consulting, and enhance the chance of success by having systematic access to business establishment. In conclusion, in order to increase the success rate of the small business start-up, it is important to choose such items that fit the founder's experience and the characteristics of the business zone, and a successful founding of a business will be accomplished only when sufficient funding is combined with successful running, therefore, most importantly, striking a balance between the factors should start with the founder as the center, and there must be professional business knowledge and technical assistance by the business start-up support agency.

  • The main purpose of this study is to investigate influence of sheltered workshop management consulting on management performance and reflect its outcome in order to improve the rationalization of management at sheltered workshop. The major results of this study that are summarized as follows: First of all, executive of sheltered workshop has expected management consulting. Management performance consist of business management, marketing, accounting/finance, production/operations. Marketing appears to have the highest expectations of these. Second, executive of sheltered workshop has expected management performance. Management performance consists of customer satisfaction Performance, internal process performance, financial performance. Internal process performance appears to have the highest expectations of these. Third, executive of sheltered workshop recognize management consulting that affects customer satisfaction performance. In particular, appears to have the greatest impact on the field of business management. Fourth, management consulting performance of sheltered workshop affects management consulting that affects internal process Performance. In particular, business management, production/operations appear to have the highest affectability better than others of these. Fifth, executive of sheltered workshop recognize management consulting that affects financial performance. In particular, business management, production/operations appear to have the highest affectability better than others of these. Sixth, executive of sheltered workshop recognize management consulting that affects customer satisfaction performance, internal process performance, financial performance. customer satisfaction performance appear to have the highest, financial performance appear to have the lowest.

  • The aim of this study was to test the effect of consultant's problem-solving ability on consulting services. A questionnaire was conducted for the staff of companies that were consulted, the research models and hypotheses were tested by structural equation. As a result of this study, the moderating effect of the consultant 's problem-solving ability and the fit of the research model were confirmed. In this study, defining the problem solving ability of the consultant as an major variable was a new attempt on the research of the consultant's competence. We expect that this study will promote various research on consultant's problem-solving ability and encourage consultants to re-recognize their problem-solving ability. We will conduct research to develop a a tool for measuring the problem-solving ability of consultants recognized as the limitation of this study.

  • In this study, User intention also factors that Consulting application and Subjective norm, Task media fit factors also impact on User intention was examined. In this process, especially Subjective norm and Task media fit of SNS in each dimension to User intention about the impact of Consulting application was in each carried out to examine the mediating effect. The test result used in this study the Subjective norm, Task media fit and Consulting application in a significant positive(+) User intention also was effective. And verifying the results of the mediating effect of Consulting application, Subjective norm and Task media fit has proven to be effective in all parameters. The results of such individuals or companies with Consulting application of SNS. SNS Subjective norm and Task media fit are aware of the factors influencing the Strategy envisions an appropriate response, such as to provide Suggestions.

  • This paper aims to examine the moderate effects of Client's Organizational Character on the relationships between Consulting Service Quality and Business Performance. To accomplish these purposes, The questionaries of 192 were inspected to the CEO or PM having consulting experience at the companies in Daegu and kyoung-buk. First, Consulting Service Quality presented a meaningful result(+) with the Business Performance. Second, Consulting Service Quality have differential influence on Business Performance by Client' s Organizational Character.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of the consulting firm's professionalism on the business performance of the consulting client firm, the quality of the consulting service quality and the consulting participation of the service company. The purpose of this study is to find out how to improve the quality and participation of consulting firms. The results of this study can be summarized as follows: respondent, empathy, tangibility, certainty, and reliability have a significant influence on the hypothesis that the consulting firm's expertise will affect the management performance through mediating service quality. In addition, it was confirmed that the higher the participation of client firms, the more significant the management performance was. In order to further improve management performance through consulting, active involvement of client firms is suggested. It is believed that studying the characteristics that can increase the participation in the future can lead to meaningful implications.

  • This paper aims to examine the mediating effects of client involvement and client utilizing willingness among consultant competency, consultation process and consulting performance. To accomplish the purpose, the analysis was conducted with 446 SMEs which had a consulting experience. The collected data were analyzed with SPSS and AMOS for Windows. This study used several statistical techniques such as descriptive analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, reliability analysis, feasibility analysis, Sobel test and the significance test of indirect effects. All studied factors presented meaningful results(+) except the path of consultant competency and client involvement. The client utilizing willingness presented the mediating role between consultation process and consulting performance. Consequently, it said that consultation process with client utilizing willingness was more important than consultant competency itself.
