Design of a Size-reduced Ring Hybrid Coupler Using an Artificial Dielectric Substrate (가유전체 기판을 이용한 소형화된 링 하이브리드 커플러의 설계)

  • This paper describes the design of a size-reduced ring hybrid coupler for microwave band using an artificial dielectric substrate(ADS). ADS structure adopts the second substrate on which has lots of the metalized via-holes. The effective capacitance and effective dielectric constant per unit length of ADS increases compared to the normal substrate due to the via-holes. This enables the physical length of microstrip transmission line to be reduced by adopting ADS instead of the normal substrate. In order to present an example of size-reduction of microwave wireless circuit by ADS, a size-reduced 3GHz ring hybrid coupler is designed, fabricated and measured in this work. The designed coupler has the smaller size from the normal one by 65% due to the ADS, while no critical degradation from ideal performances is observed. The measured power division ratio at two output ports are -3.05dB and -3.135dB, respectively. In addition, the phase differences are 3o for in-phase division and 176o for out of phase split. The measured performances are so similar to ideal ones, and prove the design of size-reduced ring hybrid coupler using ADS is successful.

Miniaturized Narrow Band-pass Filter with λg/4 Short Stubs Using S-Shaped Folded Coupling Structure (크기가 축소된 S 형태의 Folded 커플링 구조를 이용한 λg/4 단락형 협대역 스터브 대역통과 여파기)

  • In this paper, the reduced size in horizontal sizes of the narrow band pass filter (BPF) with λg/4 short stub using S shaped folded coupling structure is presented. This BPF with narrow bandwidth show flexible bandwidth with variation of the position of the stubs using the Qe(external quality factor) without changing the impedance value. On the other hand, by replacing the horizontal quarter-wavelength transmission lines with the equivalent S shaped coupled line, the BPF with reduced the size of horizontal can be realized. The proposed BPF shows the insertion loss of 1.46 dB and the return loss of 16.5 dB with bandwidth of 3.4 % at the center frequency of 5.8 GHz, respectively.

Design of Inverted-F Antenna Using a Coupling Feed (커플링 급전 구조를 사용한 역 F형 안테나의 설계)

  • This paper propose the printed inverted-F antenna using the coupling feed for the mobile phone. The coupling feed can normally leads the additional capacitances in the antenna, so the high inductive reactance of the antenna can be partly compensated. In this paper, it is shown that the bandwidth of the proposed antenna using the coupling feed is improved at $824{\sim}960$ MHz and $1,710{\sim}2,390$ MHz. Then it is compared with the simple direct feed to confirm the improvement of the bandwidth. The proposed antenna covers GSM850/GSM950/DCS/USPCS/WCDMA/Wibro and has the maximum gain of -$4.794{\sim}1.648$ dBi and shows omnidirectional patterns over the operating bands.

  • In this study, a synchronous controller which can be applied to two-axes position synchronization has been developed. The synchronous control system based on coupling structure has been composed of speed and synchronous controller. The speed controller has been designed to fellow speed reference. And the synchronous controller has been designed in the view point of accurate synchronization and robust stability by $H_{\infty}$ approach. The effectiveness of the designed synchronous controller has been demonstrated by experiment.

  • In high multistory buildings, hybrid coupled shear walls can provide an efficient structural system to resist horizontal force due to wind and seismic loads. Hybrid coupled shear walls are usually built over the whole height of the building and are laid out either as a series of walls coupled by steel beams with openings to accommodate doors, elevator walls, windows and corridors. In this paper, the behavior characteristics of hybrid coupled shear wall system considering connection details is examined through results of an experimental research program where 5 two-thirds scale specimens were tested under cyclic loading. Such connections details are typically employed in hybrid coupling wall system consisting of steel coupling beams and reinforced concrete shear wall. The test variables of this study are embedment length of steel coupling beam and wall thickness of concrete shear wall. The results and discussion presented in this paper provide fundamental data for seismic behavior of hybrid coupled shear wall systems.

  • 광도파로는 변조기, 스위치, 필터, 센서, 파장변환기 등 많은 분야에 응용이 되고 있다. 이러한 광도파로의 손실측정방법에는 프리즘 커플러를 이용하는 방법, fabry-perot 구조의 물질이 갖는 pyroelectric effect를 이용한 방법, 도파로의 입출력 단에 fiber를 커플링하여 측정하는 방법 등을 들 수 있다. 그러나, 프리즘 커플러를 이용한 방법은 미세패턴의 도파로 측정이 어렵고, pyroelectric effect를 이용하는 방법은 특정한 방향으로 도파되는 광의 측정이 불가능하며, 마지막으로 fiber 커플링 방법은 항상 같은 조건하에서의 손실 측정이 어려운 단점이 있다.   • The frequency window method has been extended to include strong coupling and multiple connections between the primary structure and the secondary structures. The rational polynomial expansion of the eigenvalue problem and the analytical methods for its solution are novel and distinguish this work from other eigenvalue analysis methods. The key results are the identification of parameters which quantify the resonance and coupling characteristics; the derivation of analytical closed-form expressions describing the fundamental modal properties in the frequency windows; and the development of an iterative procedure which yields accurate convergent results for strongly-coupled primary-secondary structures.

  • 본 논문은 SMPS 및 가전기기와 휴대 전자기기 등에서 전원회로로 폭넓게 사용되고 있는 플라이백 컨버터의 트랜스포머를 기존의 샌드위치권선 방식이 아닌 동축권선 방식을 적용하여 기존의 샌드위치권선 방식보다 우수한 1,2차 커플링을 지니는 트랜스포머를 제안한다. 제안된 트랜스포머를 적용한 컨버터는 기존의 컨버터에 비하여 동일한 조건에서 보다 우수한 효율을 나타내고 있다. 제안된 컨버터용 트랜스포머의 구조 및 커플링을 설명하고 커플링계수를 비교 한 후 34[W]급 프로토 타입을 이용하여 검증하였다.

  • The dielectric slab waveguide is fabricated on the slide glass or oxidized silicon wafer, by spin coating polyurethane, epoxy or photoresist, and the phenomenon of dielectric waveguiding is oboerved. Using the fact that the refractive index of K.P.R. is larger than that of polyurethane, thin film prism with two layered structure is fabricated, and the refraction of light is observed.

  • 본 논문에서는 전기자동차 온-보드 충전기용 단상전력변환시스템에서 능동전력디커플링 회로를 병렬로 연결하는 시스템 구조 및 그에 대한 제어 방법을 제시한다. 제안하는 시스템은 전기자동차 구동 인버터의 전력반도체와 구동모터의 고정자를 이용하여 능동전력디커플링 회로를 구성함으로 추가적인 부품을 최소화하고 전체 시스템의 전력밀도를 높임과 동시에 가격상승을 억제한다. 제안한 방식의 성능은 MATLAB/Simulink 시뮬레이션을 활용한 결과를 통해 비교 분석하였다.
