Mass customization model and design strategy for consumer electronic industry (가전사업을 위한 매스커스터마이제이션 모델과 디자인 전략)

  • Mass customization is a paradoxical word which has some difficulties in introducing to consumer electronic industry due to its mass production system for economy of scale. On the basis of literature review and case studies, this study suggests the mass customization model and design strategy suitable for consumer electronic industry in the aspect of product design. Mass customization models are divided into manufacturer side customization, deliverer side customization, and customer side customization. And the fast is considered as appropriative to consumer electronic industry. Collecting customer 's needs, modular product design, and adopting basic product platform for derivation by 3rd party manufacturer can be used as design strategy for this model. For realization of the mass customization, further research in the area of the participative design for collecting practical design needs of customer wh o are inexpert to product design is needed.

  • The existing mobile customization researches have been performed by the single customization technique to change service of single device. But, the existing single customization techniques are insufficient to change mobile service to multiple devices in batches. In this paper, we propose the customization technique for customizing multiple devices sharing flow control data of mobile service. A multiple customization technique is based on the push service and the cloud service.

  • 이 연구에서는 대량생산의 장점인 낮은 가격대 창출과 주문생산의 장점인 고객지향을 추구하는 매스 커스터마이제이션(Mass Customization) 방식에 따른 의류제품의 생산모델을 개발하였다. 특히 체형이 매우 다양한 시기에 있어 이러한 고객지향적 의복이 더욱 필요한 중년여성들을 대상으로 하여 기성복에서 얻을 수 없는 인체적합도가 높은 의복을 생산할 수 있도록 하였다. 이 모델은 소비자 체형파악과 체형별 패턴제작의 어려움을 해결해주기 때문에 의류제조업체의 패턴제작과정을 용이하게 해주고, 모든 생산이 주문에 따라 이루어지므로 재고부담을 감소시키게 된다. 생산모델은 크게 5 단계로 나뉜다. 1 단계는 소비자가 제품에 대한 정보를 얻어 선택을 하는 단계이고, 2 단계는 소비자의 신체치수 계측 및 입력, 체형판별의 단계이다. 1) 단계에서는 이러한 내용을 포함하는 주문서를 작성하여 본사로 전송하고. 4 단계에서는 제품을 생산한다. 그리고 5 단계는 제품의 배송 단계이다. 이 연구에서 실질적으로 검증한 매스 커스터마이제이션 의류제품의 생산과정은 주문단계에서 패턴의 수정 단계까지이며, 이후의 마커제작에서 배송단계까지는 생산설비상의 문제 때문에 설명으로 제시하였다. 또한 매스 커스터마이제이션 의류제품에서 특히 중요한 단계는 고객에 대학 접근방법과 가봉 없이도 인체적합도가 높은 의복을 생산하는 것이므로 이 연구에서는 이를 중심으로 다루었다.

Determinants of Mass Customization Adoption in the Apparel Industry: Retail Managers' and Young Consumers' Point of View (의류매장 매니저와 20대 소비자의 매스커스터마이제이션 도입 결정요인)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between the willingness to adopt mass customization and four proposed characteristics: organizational, individual, technological, and environmental. Retail managers' and consumers' point of view was separately examined to distinguish their characteristics and willingness to adopt mass customization. The sample of this study consisted of 66 managers and 274 consumers in their twenties. The researcher obtained seven findings from the hypotheses testing. The determinants of mass customization adoption were managers' technology and environmental characteristics, and consumers' individual, technology, and environmental characteristics. The most influential variables for the willingness to adopt mass customization were technology characteristics and retailer's customer relationship management process, where customer satisfaction and customer relationships are the top priority in an organization.

  • The reusability problems in the existing object-oriented development method and component development method is the problem that should be also resolved in the mobile development. Changing the function in mobile applications need to upgrade the entire mobile application, which can cause problems in mobile application in conjunction with other applications within the device. Thus, the changable functions in mobile application should be developed by considering their reusability. In this paper, we propose the customization technique that can be improved reusability for a variety of requirements of mobile application. We propose the self-adaptable customization technique that can change dynamically for the function to require changes by applying the data variability among variabilities.

  • According to the scale of mobile applications has been expanded, the high coupled application combined mobile and web service are growing. The growth of mobile application's size means that predicting design for variability should be involved. If mobile application's change is occurred, application should be reinstalled totally. However this reinstallation can raise side-effects in case of high-coupling application. Therefore, this paper proposes a technique of customization for changing web service protocol as the mobile applications are connected with web service in android platform. Proposed protocol customization technique is consist of selection and plug-in technique.

  • Due to smart work, the variety of tasks are performed in the mobile environment. According to the main flow, it is required to provide the various business services and change the business services instantly. Thus, in this paper, we propose a mobile customization technique for changing mobile services in real time. The mobile customization technique of this paper propose the customization architecture and process that is based on GCM's push service of Google and Intent technology of Android.

  • It is difficult to design a component to satisfy several domain requirements and almost impossible to support a specific business logic completely. To satisfy this requirement, there need white box components rather than black box components. So, in this paper, we propose the variability design technique and the customization technique that can support the various requirements of domains. The initial variability of the component is designed at the CD (component development) phase and the customization technique is used for further application of the variability. In the paper, the behavior variability design and customization techniques are used for altering component behavior. As the components that have been developed using the variability technique can easily be re designed during the development of the applications, the variability of the components can be generalized further.

  • The business component for satisfying a variety of domain requirements should be developed to provide a variety. But, although components are developed by analyzing the variety of requirements when they are developed, developing components that satisfy all requirements is not easy since unexpected requirements occur as it is used components. For this reason, components are not provided as black boxes but as white boxes, and there by components are not modified in the interface only but the source codes are directly modified. Accordingly, a Time-To-Market by the use of components is not easy and a reusability of the components also decreases. This study proposes a customization technique that can be satisfied requirements of many different kinds of domains by analyzing variable spots of components. The initial variability of components is designed in the component development phase. and a customization technique is used to apply the variability. The variability can be redesigned during the development of application by using the components to which the variability is applied. Through this process, a variability of components evolves and a generality of the components can be improved. The proposing customization technique in this study can change the component to extend without changing the existing component when it is redesigned.

  • 최근 컴포넌트 사용과 컴포넌트 기반 개발 방법론을 이용한 전사적 자원 관리(ERP) 시스템과 정보 관리 시스템(EIS) 개발이 급속히 성장하고 있다. 그 시스템을 구성하는 엔티티 컴포넌트는 데이터베이스 질의 처리를 통해 자료의 영속성 처리를 한다. 그러나, 컴포넌트가 복잡한 질의 처리를 통해서 영속성을 유지해야 하는 경우는 데이터베이스간의 질의 처리가 호환되지 않는 문제점과 그를 해결하기 위해 모든 데이터베이스와의 연동을 지원하기에는 어려운 점을 가지고 있다. 엔티티 컴포넌트에서 각 데이터베이스 질의 연산을 추상 클래스 정의하고 이 추상 클래스와 엔티티 빈 간의 종속성 제거하고 이것을 통한 EJB 기반 엔티티 컴포넌트의 커스터마이제이션을 제시한다.
