Microfabrication of the ISFET Cartridge by empolying Nozzle system (노즐의 원리를 도입한 ISFET 소형 카트리지 제작)

  • A small cartridge, with a nozzle system for washing off the dirt from the surfaces of sensing gates, was fabricated. The proposed nozzle structure was designed for cartridge by using the simulation tool of fluid (CFD-ACE). Whole size of the fabricated cartridge by using micromachining techniques is about $2.6\;cm{\times}1.5\;cm$, the size of the washing nozzle is $0.2\;mm{\times}0.6\;mm$ and its dead volume is only about $20\;{\mu}l$. A micro-reference electrode was achieved by employing a differential system with ISFETs/QRE (quasi-reference electrode)/REFET (reference field-effect transistor). Metal electrodes was deposited at both ends of blowing channel were used to check the presence of bubble in the microchannel. The pH-ISFET was inserted into the fabricated cartridge and the washing effect of the nozzle system in cartridge was invested.

  • 활성탄 흡착설비에서는 활성탄에 대한 차압특성 및 활성탄 층에서의 적절한 유동분포가 이루어져야 활성탄층에서의 고른 흡착분포를 보이게 된다. 즉, 흡착설비로 주입된 VOCs 가스는 활성탄층를 통과할 때 활성탄층 전 영역에서 고르게 유량이 분배되면서 통과를 해야만 활성탄의 파과시간과 교체주기가 같게 된다. 따라서 고안된 활성탄 카트리지 및 흡착설비가 이러한 고른 유동분포를 갖는지를 먼저 해석하였다. 본 연구에서는 기존에 VOCs 흡착제로 쓰이고 있는 활성탄에 대한 차압특성을 알아보고 차압에 따른 유동장을 해석하여 유입된 VOCS를 포함한 오염가스가 활성탄층에 고르게 분포되는가를 해석하였다. 이러한 결과를 토대 활성탄 카트리지내의 구조에 따른 활성탄의 높이 및 양을 제시하였다.

Study on New Extraction Method of Microcystins from Cyanobacteria (남조류로부터 마이크로시스틴을 추출하는 새로운 추출법 연구)

  • A new analytical method of cyanobacterial toxins, i, e, microcysins was deveeloped using supercritical fluid extraction(SFE). The microcystins mcluded in the study are sparsely soluble in neat supercritical fluid CO$_2$ However, the microcystins were successfully extracted with a temary mixture(90% CO$_2$,9.0% methanol 1.0% water) at 40$^{\circ}$C and 250 atm. The SFE method developed in this study has several advantages over solid-phase extraction(SPE) sample preparation for the analysis of microcystins. Sample handling steps are minimized thus reducing possible losses of analytes and saving analysis time. No clean-up steps are employed in this SFE method. Althouhgh many methods have been described for microcystim RR and LR, the method using solid-phase extraction with ODS cartridges is the most commonly used. However, the adsorbing power of ODS caridges for microcystins is weak, so we have attempted to use a more polar CN cartridge, to increase the adsorbing power for microcystins. Lyophilized cells(100mg) were wxtracted with 5% (v/v) acetic acid. The extract was centrifuged and then the supernatant was applied to a CN cartridge. The cartridge which contained microcystins was rinsed with 5 ml of water and 5 ml of 0.5 M acetic acid. followed by 5 ml of 5% acetonitrile in water , and were determined by HPLC. Better recoveries and chromatogram were observed than with ODS cartridge.

A Study on the Environmental Effects of Improvement of Activated Carbon Adsorption Tower for the Application of Activated Carbon Co-Regenerated System in Sihwa/Banwal Industrial Complex (시화반월산업단지 활성탄 공동재생시스템 적용을 위한 활성탄 흡착탑 개선에 따른 환경적 효과분석)

  • This study investigated the environmental effects of improving the general-type activated carbon adsorption tower used at the Sihwa/Banwol Industrial Complex with use of a cartridge-type activated carbon adsorption tower for the application of an activated carbon co-regenerated system. Four general-type activated carbon adsorption towers and two cartridge-type activated carbon adsorption towers were selected to analyze the properties of activated carbon and to compare the efficiency of reducing environmental pollutants. The results showed that the activated carbon used in the cartridge-type activated carbon adsorption towers was high quality activated carbon with an iodine adsorption force of more than 800 mg/g and that a good adsorption performance was maintained within the replacement cycle. From an analysis of the environmental pollutant reduction efficiency, it was confirmed that the cartridge-type activated carbon adsorption tower functioned properly as a prevention facility for handling emissions pollutants with a treatment efficiency of total hydrocarbons (THC), toluene, and methylethylketone (MEK) components of 71%, 77%, and 80%, respectively. The general activated carbon adsorption tower, which was confirmed to use low-performance activated carbon, had a very low treatment efficiency and did not function properly as a prevention facility for dealing with emission pollutants. It is believed that it is possible to reduce pollutants during operations by changing from the general-type activated carbon adsorption tower to a cartridge-type activated carbon adsorption tower.

  • 국내 재제조 산업은 대부분 자동차부품, 토너 카트리지 등에 집중되어 있으며, 소규모 영세업체가 상당한 비중을 차지하고 있다. 판매되는 재제조 부품의 반품회수율(불량률)은 5~10% 정도이나, 재제조 기술 수준은 미국, 유럽 등 선진국의 30% 정도로 평가된다. 최근에는 규모는 크지 않지만 컴퓨터, 카메라, 가전 등 전자제품 분야에서도 재제조 시장이 형성되고 있다. 우리나라 재제조 산업은 대상 부문 및 시장 규모 등에서 미국에 비해 매우 초보적인 단계에 있지만, 재제조 산업이 갖는 경제적 환경적 가치를 고려하여 관련 산업의 활성화 방안을 모색할 때이다. 본 고는 한국산업연구원에서 7월 5일에 발표한 보고서 내용을 발췌 정리한 것이다.

Acoustic Characteristics of LP Records (LP 레코더의 음향 특성)

  • LP레코더의 음향 특성은 기록과 재생 방법에 따라 달라지며 공학적 기준 설정이 어렵다. 본 연구는 LP 레코더와 카트리지의 관계로부터 주파수 특성을 분석하고 LP 레코더 특성의 모의 장치를 구현하였다. 카트리지에 의해 나타나는 주파수 특성은 차단 주파수 12[kHz] 부근에서 부족 댐핑을 보이며 이후 약 - 80[dB/dec]로 감소하게 된다. 4차 체비세프 필터를 이용하여 모의 장치를 구성하고 CD 음원의 소리를 모의장치에 통과시켜 LP 레코더와 유사한 음향을 재현하였다. 12[kHz]로 대역 제한된 사운드가 20[kHz] 대역 보다 우수한 음장감을 나타내었다.

Facile [11C]PIB Synthesis Using an On-cartridge Methylation and Purification Showed Higher Specific Activity than Conventional Method Using Loop and High Performance Liquid Chromatography Purification (Loop와 HPLC Purification 방법보다 더 높은 비방사능을 보여주는 카트리지 Methylation과 Purification을 이용한 손쉬운 [ 11C]PIB 합성)

  • $[^{11}C]PIB$ synthesis has been performed by a loop-methylation and HPLC purification in our lab. However, this method is time-consuming and requires complicated systems. Thus, we developed an on-cartridge method which simplified the synthetic procedure and reduced time greatly by removing HPLC purification step. We compared 6 different cartridges and evaluated the $[^{11}C]PIB$ production yields and specific activities. $[^{11}C]MeOTf$ was synthesized by using TRACERlab FXC Pro and was transferred into the cartridge by blowing with helium gas for 3 min. To remove byproducts and impurities, cartridges were washed out by 20 mL of 30% EtOH in 0.5 M $NaH_2PO_4$ solution (pH 5.1) and 10 mL of distilled water. And then, $[^{11}C]PIB$ was eluted by 5 mL of 30% EtOH in 0.5 M $NaH_2PO_4$ into the collecting vial containing 10 mL saline. Among the 6 cartridges, only tC18 environmental cartridge could remove impurities and byproducts from $[^{11}C]PIB$ completely and showed higher specific activity than traditional HPLC purification method. This method took only 8 ~ 9 min from methylation to formulation. For the tC18 environmental cartridge and conventional HPLC loop methods, the radiochemical yields were $12.3{\pm}2.2%$ and $13.9{\pm}4.4%$, respectively, and the molar activities were $420.6{\pm}20.4GBq/{\mu}mol$ (n=3) and $78.7{\pm}39.7GBq/{\mu}mol$ (n=41), respectively. We successfully developed a facile on-cartridge methylation method for $[^{11}C]PIB$ synthesis which enabled the procedure more simple and rapid, and showed higher molar radio-activity than HPLC purification method.
