A Development of the Traffic Signal Progression Model for Tram and Vehicles (간선도로 트램 전용차로에서 트램과 일반차량을 위한 신호최적화 모형 개발)

  • A tram has been the focus of a new public transportation that can solve a traffic jam, decreasing of public transit usage and environmental problem in recent years. This study aims to develop a signal optimization model for considering the traffic signal progression of tram and vehicles, when they are operated simultaneously in the same signalized intersections. This research developed the KS-SIGNAL-Tram model to obtain a minimum tram bandwidth and to minimize a vehicle's delay to perform a tram passive signal priority, it is based on the KS-SIGNAL model and is added to the properties of a tram and it's system. We conducted a micro simulation test to evaluate the KS-SIGNAL-Tram model, it showed that the developed optimization model is effective to prevent a tram's stop on intersection, to reduce a tram's travel time and vehicle's delay.

  • 인구의 증가와 급속한 산업화 그리고 편안함을 추구하고자 하는 문명의 이기로 인한 에너지 사용량 증가는 환경오염을 가속화시키는 문제를 유발하고 있어 전 세계적으로 심각한 사회문제로 대두되고 있다. 이에 반해 삶의 질의 향상에 따라 보다 쾌적한 환경에 대한 욕구와 인식의 변화로 환경보호에 대한 관심이 증가하는 추세이며, 이에 따라 각 국의 환경규제는 날로 강화되고 있다. 이러한 환경문제를 해결하기 위한 국제협력이 활발해지면서 무역과 연계된 국제 환경규제가 가속화되고 있으며, 환경선진국은 이러한 환경규제를 무역장벽으로 이용하고 있어 국가의 대외경쟁력에도 직 간접적으로 영향을 미치고 있다. 환경오염물질 중 질소산화물(NOx), 황산화물(SOx), 일산화탄소(CO), 이산화탄소($CO_2$) 및 휘발성유기화합물(VOCs), 다이옥신 그리고 입자상물질(PM)과 같은 대기오염물질은 대기 중으로 쉽게 확산되는 특성에 의해 인접한 지역까지 영향을 미치기 때문에 국제적인 규제대상의 초점이 되고 있으며, 경제협력개발기구(OECD, Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development), 유엔산하 국제해사기구(IMO, International Maritime Organization) 및 국제연소기구협회(CIMAC, International Council on Combustion engines)등 여러 국제기구를 중심으로 각종 규제수단을 개발하여 적용하고 있다. 특히, 국제해사기구(IMO)에서는 선박에서 발생되는 오염물질 등에 대한 규제강화를 위하여 새로운 국제해양오염방지협약(MARPOL)을 채택, 발효하여 그 규제 범위를 넓혀감에 따라 선박에 대한 각종 환경규제가 대폭 강화되고 있어 친환경 선박 및 관련 기술 개발이 활발히 진행 중에 있다. 이 글에서는 선박에서 배출되는 대기오염물질 중 그 자체로도 인체에 유해하며, 산성비, 광화학스모그 등 다양한 환경문제를 유발시키는 대표적인 물질인 질소산화물(NOx)과 질소산화물 배출규제에 대한 대응기술인 선택적촉매환원법(SCR, Selective Catalytic Reduction)과 SCR 탈질시스템에 사용되는 SCR 촉매에 대해 소개하고자 한다.

Parents' perception on middle school foodservice using environment friendly agricultural products (EFAP) in Masan area (마산시 중학교 학부모의 친환경 농산물 학교급식에 대한 인식 조사)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate parent's perception of a middle school foodservice in Masan city, Korea that uses environmentally friendly agricultural products (EFAP). From May 29, 2009 to July 11, 2009, questionnaires were distributed to 350 parents of middle schools located in Masan city. A total of 295 responded and 276 (response rate, 78.9%) were used for the final analysis after excluding improperly completed questionnaires. First, 47.8% of the parents responded that they had participated in the school foodservice operation (receiving food, attending foodservice-related events, working as a meal service aid, evaluating suppliers). Receiving food (53.7%) accounted for the greatest proportion in the participating area. Second, most subjects (83.0%) responded that they were aware of the use of EFAP. Additionally, 96.4% of the subject approved expanding the use of EFAP for all items. Third, their degree of interest in the school foodservice was 3.86, and satisfaction with the school foodservice was 3.94 based on a 5-point Likert scale. The overall satisfaction on the quality of EFAP used in the school foodservice was 3.68 based on a 5-point Likert scale. Fourth, awareness that the school used EFAP in the foodservice by the parents who participated in school foodservice operations was higher than that of parents who did not participate. Satisfaction (4.10) with the school foodservice by parents who participated in school foodservice operations was significantly higher than that (3.79) of parents who did not participate (p < 0.001). In conclusion, parent's participation in school foodservice operations should increase to improve the quality of the school foodservice and improve communication between parents and the school.

Trend of sound quality development in vehicles (자동차 음질 개발 동향)

  • 자동차에서 실내음질은 구매결정 요소들 중의 하나로 그 중요성이 점차 증가하고 있다. 따라서 다양한 운전조건에서 운전자가 기대하는 실내음질의 기대 수준을 충족시켜야 한다. 소비자는 운전경험과 습관에 따라 기대하는 음질에 차이가 있고 소리에 대한 표현방식도 모호하기 때문에 이러한 주관적 특성을 하나의 통일된 표현으로 정의 하기가 어렵다. 그러나 지난 이십여 년 동안의 음질개발과 차량 실내소음 주관평가의 통계처리로 통일된 표현을 할 수 있었다. 나아가 심리음향학 및 신호처리기술의 발달과 꾸준한 음질연구결과로 소리특성을 객관적으로 나타내는 소리의 시각화가 가능하였으며, 운전자가 인식하는 주관평가와의 상관관계를 높여 차량의 대표적인 음질인자로 정량화하여 음질목표를 설정할 수 있었다. 실내소음의 구성은 엔진 투과음, 흡배기 소음, 바람 소음, 도로 기인 소음 등으로 다양하므로 소음원에 따라 음의 균형을 맞추어 조화로운 음질개발을 하는 것이 중요했다. 또한 차량 판매되는 지역에 따라 선호음이 상이하여 지역별 실내음질의 차별화가 필요했다. 궁극적으로는 운전자의 감성품질을 만족할 수 있도록 음을 제어하여 브랜드 사운드를 개발하고 있다. 이러한 실내음질을 달성하기 위한 방법으로 소음원과 전달경로에 대해 기여도를 분석하고, 경로를 구성하는 시스템 별로 세분화하여 시스템 목표를 설정하였다. 시스템 개발에 중요한 인자로 차량의 동강성 및 흡차음 성능을 들 수 있다. 특히 디젤차량의 비중이 큰 유럽업체의 차량의 동강성 및 흡차음 개발 능력은 높게 평가되고 있다. 이에 유럽의 부품전문회사가 가지고 있는 해석과 시험적인 개발 방법을 통하여 전달계 특성을 만족하기 위한 시스템의 동강성 및 흡차음 특성을 개발하고 있다. 차량음질 튜닝의 중요한 기법 중 하나로 흡배기 개발을 추진하고 있다. 친환경자동차인 하이브리드차량, 전기차량 및 연료전지차량의 경우 전기구동부품에서 발생하는 각종 이음 발생을 최소화 했다. 보행자를 보호하고 운전의 즐거움을 향상하기 위한 가상사운드 개발을 진행하고 있다. 회사 수익성 향상을 위한 원가절감 및 구조 경량화에 따른 음질악화와 연비 향상 및 배기가스 규제 강화로 고성능 고출력 엔진탑재에 따른 음질악화 요인을 극복해야 했다. 운전자의 청감은 차량의 운전성에 따라서도 크게 영향을 받게 되므로 엔진제어와 변속기제어를 통해 음질과 운전성이 조화를 이룰 수 있도록 개발하고 있다. 향후, 소음원에 따른 시스템 최적화 개발, 운전성과 음질 연계 개발과 친환경차량의 가상사운드 개발 등이 자동차 음질 개발의 중요한 이슈로 생각한다.

Residents' Perceptions of the Outdoor Spaces of Environmentally-friendly Apartment Complexes (친환경 아파트 거주자의 옥외환경에 관한 인식분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine residents' perceptions of the outdoor spaces of environmentally-friendly apartment complexes focused on quality of life. On-site intercept surveys were performed to collect data and samples were selected from the residents who are currently living in two different environmentally-friendly certified apartment complexes. This study has examined importance and satisfaction of outdoor spaces of the study sites as they relate to quality of life, as well as they correlation between the New Environmental Paradigm(NEP), and satisfaction and loyalty, respectively. Data were analyzed using several statistical methods including descriptive statistics, Importance-Satisfaction Analysis(ISA), t-test, and correlation. The results suggest that outdoor spaces of the apartment complexes are perceived as an important place to improve residents' quality of life. Residents showed a high satisfaction rate to the natural environmental features(e.g. natural areas present, amenity of space) while they showed a lower satisfaction rate to the social environmental features(e.g. access to public transportation). Although most residents tend to have the New Environmental Paradigm based on the study results, NEP did not influence the level of satisfaction in environmentally-friendly apartment complexes. In contrast, there was a significant relationship between NEP and loyalty. In addition, a strong correlation emerged between satisfaction of outdoor spaces and loyalty to the housing estates. Given these results, various recommendations were given to promote better use of outdoor spaces of dwellings to improve residents' quality of life.

A Perception of Dietitians for Using Imported Foods and Pro-environment Farm Products for Elementary School Foodservice Operations in Busan (수입 식재료 및 친환경 농산물 사용에 대한 부산지역 초등학교 영양사의 인식 조사)

  • The purpose of this study was to assess the use of food materials at elementary school in Busan area and provide school meal management with basic data to improvement of guideline. A survey was done by e-mail with a set of questionnaires, which was responeded by 122 dietitians in elementary school foodservice. The results were as follows; Sixty percent of the dietitians though to the general imported food materials had to use. Regarding mean score of using the imported food materials; safety was 2.12/5.00, freshness 2.48/5.00, sanitation 2.68/5.00, nutrition 2.73/5.00, preference 2.93/5.00, external form 3.09/5.00, package 3.12/5.00, and price 3.63/5.00. Thirty seven percent of the dietitians had purchase the pro-environment farm products(PEFPs) and 32.0% of them purchased those products for the students' health. But 52.4% could not purchase to the PEFPs because of expensive price. They had negative opinions about deficient supplying of PEFPs 4.51/5.00, too expensive price 4.34/5.00, and the truth or false in source of PEFPs 3.96/5.00. Most of them perceived that using the PEFPs had to apply the step by step. Among of them, 33.9% had the knowledge of PEFPs, but 16.4 of them did not know to the PEPPs. 57.4% of them hoped to purchase the food materials through a center of supporting school meal servcie(it called non-profit-making organizations).

  • Much energy is consumed up when making a concrete. And especially, because lots of $CO_2$ is discharged for combination material, cement, we are making efforts in order to get lid of this negative thought. Recently, much interest is given to manufacturing eco concrete which is environment friendly and its' application. We should study manufacturing of the concrete whose environment friendly performance should be improved as consistent development concept in order for various approaches to be settled down our country such as lowering of environmental load, utilization of industry wastes and improvement of environment related performance. This study inquired into utilization possibility through from various tests results after manufacturing eco type mixed concrete whose purpose is to lower environmental load in which cement and aggregates can be replaced with metakaolin which is natural material and copper slag which is industry by product.

  • LED is low power and pro-environment semiconductor element. That can be used not only as the lighting function but also for Visible Light Communication(VLC). The VLC is the communication technology that can send data by blinking a fluorescent or LED using visible spectrum. That velocity of blinking can not be usually recognized by eyesight. Visible Light Communication using LED can be used in many fields. In the field of ITS(Intelligent Transportation System), Under construction on the road, Emitting traffic signs can be applied to transfer the vehicle information. In this paper, Emitting traffic signs in addition to the VLC give information about road condition, safety distance and the lane change. We design Communication protocol to provide safety service and verify protocol by experiment.

Conceptual Design for Fully Electrified Car Ferry Powered by Removable Battery System (이동식 전원공급장치 기반 전기추진차도선의 개념설계 연구)

  • The increasing international awareness regarding air pollutant reduction has resulted in increasing demand for eco-friendly ships; hence, electric ships are being actively developed by various countries. Presently, studies on electric ships are mainly focused on electric propulsion systems and electric motors. However, from the ship perspective, there are no studies on conceptual designs for coastal car ferries powered by removable power supply systems. In the present study, the main research consideration is regarding the conceptual design of a fully electrified car ferry using a battery-based removable system as the main power source. By analyzing the dimensions of more than 100 domestic coastal car ferries, the main criteria satisfying the requirements for developing a suitable vessel were derived, and a study on intact/damage stability was conducted considering the application of a removable battery truck. Further analyses of the problems concerning the conceptual design were also performed to derive solutions.

Braking Force Test Evaluation Dynamometer Development of Vehicle (차량용 브레이크 제동력 평가 다이나모미터 개발)

  • Recently, automobiles have been developed for safety and environmental reasons. Particularly, awareness of automobile safety is changing significantly. As a result, safety systems developed by ADAS have emerged. However, the period of mass production through ADAS development and test evaluation is long. Therefore, in this paper, we develop a brake dynamometer to shorten the time required for ADAS development and test evaluation. In addition, the developed brake dynamometer satisfies the international standard JIS D-0210, and the user can evaluate the braking force by selecting test conditions and test method for each mode of ADAS. We use the ACC, LKAS, and AEB scenarios proposed in previous studies to verify the reliability of the developed brake dynamometer. The developed brake dynamometer was verified by comparing the test values and the calculated values using theoretical formulas of the proposed ADAS mode based on previous studies. In addition, it is expected that the performance evaluation of brake parts for each ADAS mode will be possible in an environment where the vehicle test of ADAS is not possible in the future.
