  • Nowadays, environmentally friendly technology is attracting considerable attention because of environmental pollution and the increasing price of raw materials. Korea has a high level of dependence on exports, and therefore it has stressed the development of environmentally friendly technologies. Bicycle manufacturing industry has a bright future because bicycles do not use fossil fuels, and cycling is good for one's health. We develop a management system for the effective development of next-generation environmentally friendly technology for bicycles. The goal is to promote the bicycle industry in Korea while keeping the product in the low to medium price range.

Application of Time-series Cross Validation in Hyperparameter Tuning of a Predictive Model for 2,3-BDO Distillation Process (시계열 교차검증을 적용한 2,3-BDO 분리공정 온도예측 모델의 초매개변수 최적화)

  • Recently, research on the application of artificial intelligence in the chemical process has been increasing rapidly. However, overfitting is a significant problem that prevents the model from being generalized well to predict unseen data on test data, as well as observed training data. Cross validation is one of the ways to solve the overfitting problem. In this study, the time-series cross validation method was applied to optimize the number of batch and epoch in the hyperparameters of the prediction model for the 2,3-BDO distillation process, and it compared with K-fold cross validation generally used. As a result, the RMSE of the model with time-series cross validation was lower by 9.06%, and the MAPE was higher by 0.61% than the model with K-fold cross validation. Also, the calculation time was 198.29 sec less than the K-fold cross validation method.

Process Design and Economic Evaluation of Condensate Recycling Process for Steam Consumption Reduction (스팀 사용 저감을 위한 응축수 재활용 공정설계 및 경제성 평가)

  • This study focused on the epoxy resin production process, which uses the steam of 155 ℃ or higher as a heat source, and discards all condensate generated. A part of the process is operated at low temperatures of 70 ℃ or below, thus there are opportunities to reduce the steam consumption by recycling wasted condensate as a heat source for the low temperature section of process. In this study, we developed process models that can reduce steam by recovering waste heat through recycling condensate and conducted a case study to find an optimal condensate recycling system. Three different process designs were proposed and economic evaluations were performed by comparing annual capital costs and steam savings in each case. Finally, an annual steam consumption of the low-temperature section could be reduced by up to 67.6%, which could also bring an additional economic benefit of 522.1 million won/yr.

Nutritional Components, Antioxidant and ACE Inhibitory Activity of Five Kinds of Wild Vegetables (the Sprouts of Aralica elata, Kalopanax pictus, Acanthopanax cortex, Cedrela sinensis, Rhus vernicifera) in Spring (봄 산채 5종(두릅, 엄나무, 오갈피, 참죽, 옻 새순)의 영양성분, 항산화 및 ACE 저해 활성)

  • This study analyzed the chemical characteristics and physiological activity of five kinds of fresh vegetables produced in trees in early spring and tried to use them as basic data for wild vegetable producers and processed food manufacturers using wild vegetables. The crude protein, minerals, ascorbic acid, folate, total phenol, total flavonoid, DPPH (2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl) radical scavenging activity and ACE (angiotensin converting enzyme) inhibitory activity were determined. Five spring wild vegetables contain high protein and phosphorus, indicating that they are useful food ingredients as sources of protein and phosphorus. Vitamin C content was high in R. venicifera and C. sinensis shoots, and in particular, R. venicifera and A. cortex shoots have high folic acid (folate) contents of 1,903.91 ug% and 1,525.35 ug%, respectively, which is considered a good food for folic acid intake in spring. The total phenol content was between 0.52% and 1.27%, and it was the highest in C. sinensis of 1.27%, followed by the order of R. venicifera, A.cortex, K.pictus, and A. elata, which tended to be consistent with the total flavonoid content. As for DPPH radical scavenging ability, C. sinensis (55.93%) showed the highest activity, and ACE inhibitory activity showed the highest activity in A. cortex (88.04%).

A Methodology to Evaluate Economic Feasibility by Taking into Account Social Costs from Automobile Exhaust Gases (자동차 배기가스로 인한 사회적 비용을 고려한 경제성 평가 방법론)

  • Air pollutants have a high impact on everyday life as well as on human health; therefore, new technologies such as low-emission vehicles and add-on systems for air pollutant reduction are needed for our society. However, the environmental benefits and costs of those technologies are not taken into account in existing economic feasibility assessments, which is a barrier that needs to be overcome for green technology to achieve wide dissemination and fast penetration in the market. Thus, this study develops a methodology to assess the economic feasibility of an air pollutant reduction technology by taking into account the social costs from air pollutants and carries out a case study to validate the methodology. Because the social unit costs for air pollutants have not been evaluated yet in South Korea, the methodology uses the social unit costs evaluated for the European Union that are then converted to those for South Korea based on the measuring criteria for vehicle emission gases, parity purchasing price, foreign currency exchange rate, and customer price index. The social unit costs for South Korea are used to assess economic feasibility. A case study was performed to assess the economic feasibility of a dual fuel system using diesel and compressed natural gas by taking into account social costs from air pollutants as well as economic costs. This study could contribute to assessing the true economic feasibility of green technology, projects, and policy related with air pollutant reduction.

Electric Fan Heater Design for Eco-Energy Saving (친환경 에너지 절감형 전기온풍기 기구설계)

  • As the Eco-energy is recently required, electrical energy is fast increased. Several induction heating methods are attractive for Eco-energy and energy saving. In this paper, electrical fan heater was designed and developed with new concept for energy saving by electromagnetic induction heating. Proposed system was composed of three module, blast part, induction heating part and power transformation part. Induction heating method was adapted for heating and the resonant inverter was used for increasing of the power transformation efficiency. Full-bridge resonant inverter was adopted to resonant inverter. This system was composed of induction heating part made with metal(SUS 40 series), and power transformation part made with rectifier module, filter module and resonant inverter. From these results, the proposed new electric heater could be saved the energy from faster increasing the temperature compared to commercial gas and other electric heater. This electrical fan heater is possible to be used in field of home, commercial and agricultural area for eco-energy saving heater.

산업용 잉크젯을 이용한 전자소자 제작

  • 전자산업에서 소자를 제작하는 핵심공정으로써, 패턴을 형성하는 방식은 식각 마스크를 통해 이루어진다. 공정 순서는 원하는 물질을 증착한 후 사진공정 (photolithograpy)을 통하여 원하는 패턴의 감광제 식각마스크 (etch mask)를 형성하게 된다. 이후, 습식식각이나 건식식각을 통하여 물질의 불필요한 부분을 제거한 후 최종적으로 감광제 식각마스크를 제거하여 원하는 물질의 패턴을 얻게 된다. 최근에 소개된 잉크젯 프린팅 기술 (inkjet printing technology)은 나노 잉크를 이용하여 사진공정과 식각공정을 이용하지 않고, 직접 나노잉크를 분사하여 패턴을 형성하는 방법으로, 패터닝 공정을 단순화 시킬 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 각종 전자 산업의 환경오염물을 획기적으로 줄일 수 있는 친환경기술이다. 특히, OLED, O-TFT, RF-ID, PCB 분야 등 다양한 전자산업분야의 제조기술로서 응용하고자, 전도성 폴리머나 실버 (silver) 나노파티클 잉크를 이용한 전도성 라인 패터닝 (line patterning)에 관한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 본 강연에서는 친환경 생산공정기술 측면에서의 잉크젯기술을 분석하고, 기술의 구성요소, 응용분야, 기술 동향에 관해서 소개하고, 또한 현재 한국생산기술연구원에 진행하고 있는 잉크젯 프린팅 기술 기반의 인쇄전자 분야에 관한 내용을 소개한다.

Smart Water Management for Rural Water District for the pilot operating (농촌수자원 Smart 물관리를 위한 시범지구 운영)

  • 본 연구는 세계적인 기후변화와 물부족 현상에 따라 우리나라에도 향후 물부족에 대비한 농업용수의 친환경적인 적정 관리의 필요성이 절실해지고 있으며 친환경 녹색기술 개발과 농촌수자원의 체계적인 관리가 중요한 국가적인 문제로 대두되고 있다. 농촌은 고령화와 인구감소로 인하여 농업기반 수리시설과 농업용수의 전통적인 인력관리가 어려워지고 있으므로 이를 혁신할 수 있는 친환경, 녹색기술, 정보통신기술(ICT) 융합으로 농촌수자원 관리기술의 개발하고 이에 농업용수를 효율적인 관리를 위하여 농촌지역 수리시설과 농업용수 관리를 위해 정보통신기술과 센서네트워크 계측제어기술 및 모바일기술을 적용하여 농촌수자원 스마트 물관리를 위한 시범지구를 운영 하였다. 시범지구는 섬진강댐 수계의 동진도수로, 김제간선, 정읍간선으로 용수를 공급하는데 이중 수혜면적 17,600 ha, 수로연장 59 km의 김제간선에 시범지구로 선정하였다. 김제간선의 용수공급량은 년평균 163,748천톤의 공급하고 있다. 시범지구 운영은 5개년 중 1차년도(2011년)에는 현장시설 설치 총 87지점에서 15개소를 설치하였으며 시범지구의 영농 및 물관리 특성, 용수공급량 조사 분석하였으며 시범지구의 운영시스템 구축과 Smart 물관리 프로그램(Web, App)개발 하였다. 시범지구 운영은 한국농어촌공사 물관리분야 관련 신기술의 실용화를 위한 인큐베이트 역할을 하며 통합수자원관리시스템과 연계하여 체계적인 현장 물관리 기술의 보급과 공사의 대표적인 물관리 시범지구로 활용 및 사업 홍보 효과에 기여할 것으로 기대되고 있다.
