국가적 수준의 치과의사 역량을 위한 치과마취과학의 교육역량과 치과의사국가고시 제고

  • 치과마취학의 교육목표는 치과치료 시 적절한 환자평가와 함께 동통 및 불안을 관리하기 위한 약품선택과 치과치료를 위한 흡입법과 정맥주사를 이용한 의식하진정법과 언제, 어떻게, 어디로 전신마취를 의뢰하는지를 알아야 할 사항과 특히 의학적 병력을 가진 환자와 특별한 관리가 필요한 소아 노인 장애인의 전반적 이해와 치료 전 전신적 환자평가를 할 수 있는 능력과 치과진료 중 일어날 수 있는 의료적 응급 상황과 치과응급상황을 식별하고 인공소생술을 포함한 치과 치료 과정에서 발생할 수 있는 의학적 응급상황들에 적절한 관리를 할 수 있어야 한다. 치의학교육의 최소한의 질 보장을 위한 국가적 수준의 치과의사 역량체계를 구축함으로써 치의학교육의 질 향상을 위한 치과대학(원)의 변화를 자극하고, 치과의료와 의료인력의 질적 증진 및 치과의료행위의 최소수준을 보장하는데 있다. 하지만 현행 국가고시에 있어 치과마취과학은 구강외과 과목에 포함되어 위 기술한 치과마취과학의 교육목표를 달성하는 데 어려움이 있다. 그러므로 국가수준의 치의학교육의 질에 대해 제고하고 학교의 교육과정 변화와 개선에 적용하고 국시원의 새로운 과목의 도입과 실기시험을 통하여 치과마취과학의 교육목표를 달성하는 데 목적이 있다.

  • 최근에 들어서 개인용컴퓨터가 대중화되고 통계처리를 위한 컴퓨터 소프트웨어들을 쉽게 이용할 수 있게 됨에 따라 치의학연구에 있어서도 컴퓨터를 이용한 자료의 통계적 분석이 증가되고 있으며 그 방법도 갈수록 복잡하고 다양해지고 있다. 따라서 오늘날 급속히 발전하는 새로운 치의학지식의 습득을 위하여 치의학잡지에서 증가되고 있는 통계적 분석방법을 이해하고 평가할 수 있는 통계학지식이 요구된다. 이에 저자는 1975년,1980년 그리고 1986년에 발행된 5종류의 치의학잡지에서 보고된 논문에서 통계학방법의 종류와 빈도 그리고 통계학방법의 경향을 조사하여 치의학분야의 통계학교육에 필요한 통계학방법을 제시하고자 하였다.

The Effects of Expertise Level on Task Load and Easy-to-use in Virtual Reality Based Dental Clinical Simulation (치과임상용 가상현실 시뮬레이션에서 사용자의 숙련도 수준이 과제부하와 사용용이성에 미치는 영향)

  • This study aimed to investigate the effects of the virtual reality simulation for malocclusion examination for dental education. A 4-step modeling procedure was applied to develop a tooth model with a realistic level in order to be held and observed in detail. Eighty-six participants used HMDs to examine the developed virtual dental simulation to identify their perception according to expertise levels. The independent variable, expertise group, included three levels: 29 juniors, 29 seniors, and 28 dentists, respectively. The dependent variables, that were task-load and usability, were measured through two cases. Results showed that the junior group perceived a higher level of mental demands and embarrassment than the dentist group. It indicated that the perceived task load varies according to the expertise levels in the simulation task. However, the senior group perceived a higher level of ease of use than the dentist group. This study presented the implications for the development of virtual reality simulation in detail.

Case Study of Applicability of PBL-Based Instruction of Integrated Medicine and Lifescience Class in School of Dentistry (통합 의생명 과목 수업에서의 PBL 적용 사례 연구)

  • This study is to explore the applicability of PBL classes in undergraduate education at a School of Dentistry. To do this study, PBL modules were developed and applied to the students with different background knowledge to easily learn Integrated Medicine and Lifescience classes. Participants were 12 students in the first year of Integrated MS program at P University. Four tutors who majored in Dentistry and had PBL teaching experience participated. As a result of the PBL classes, students' concepts and knowledge about gene expression and expression were expanded, and they recognized the importance of self-directed learners and experienced the importance of collaborative learning. PBL tutor presented a positive assessment of attending PBL class experience and the educational need for PBL instruction. The results of this study show the possibility of PBL as a model for Integrated Medicine and Lifescience class in Dentistry education.

Mini-implant with additional retentive structure by using digital method (부가적인 유지구조를 가진 미니 임플란트의 디지털 수복 증례)

  • Mini-implant has been reported as an alternative method to conventional diameter implants in the treatment of mandibular anterior region with narrow ridge. However, one-piece type mini-implant showed biological and technical complications, such as peri-implantitis by residual cement and prosthetic detachment. Recently, one-piece type mini-implant with additional retentive structure has been introduced to increase the retention and stability of the mini-implant. The mini-implant is based on spreading the upper retentive structure with a spreader and connected it with the inner surface of the zirconia prosthesis. In two cases, we tried to reduce these complications through the mini-implant on the narrow mandibular anterior region, and it was possible to reduce the overall treatment period through a digital system. In this case report, restoration using the digital mini-implant system showed improvement of patient satisfaction on the aspect of function and esthetic in the narrow mandibular anterior region.

Effectiveness of Oral Health Education Program using Home-using Portable Device for Children (정량광형광기를 이용한 어린이의 구강건강관리교육 효과)

  • This study was performed to determine the effectiveness of oral health education program with a home-using portable device according to the individual oral health status in children. 58 children who were 6 - 12 years old were included in this study. All subjects were affiliated to moderate or high caries risk group based on caries risk test. They were divided into 2 groups: (I) home-using portable device group (II) control group. Both groups were evaluated with simple plaque score (SPS) using camera type quantitative light-induced fluorescence device and educated with identical oral health education methods. Subjects in group I were demanded to use a home-using portable device. After 1 month, both groups were re-evaluated. Cariview score that can reflect the acidogenic potential of plaque bacteria was statistically reduced in both groups (p < 0.001). There was a statistically significant difference between two groups in the change of Cariview score (p = 0.022). In group I, the decrease was larger than that in group II. There was no statistically significant difference in the change of SPS (p = 0.937). Oral health education improved oral hygiene status in children. However, this study confirmed that it was much more effective to improve oral health status in children with a home-using portable device in their daily oral hygiene care.

Perception Survey of Virtual Reality Simulation with Malocclusion Models (부정교합 모델을 적용한 가상현실 시뮬레이션에 대한 인식조사)

  • The purpose of this study was to develop prototype of virtual reality(VR) simulation with malocclusion models and evaluate its applicability. Task abilities, task completion time, and a satisfaction survey were compared between dentist trainees and dental students. Participants were instructed to observe virtual malocclusion models and then performed three tasks to diagnose the type of malocclusion, determine clinical findings and develop treatment plans. Their satisfaction with the simulation experience were evaluated using a questionnaire containing five questions. Task abilities of trainees related to clinical features and treatment plans were significantly higher than that of students(p < 0.01). In both groups, the task completion time for the second case was significantly reduced compared to that for the first case(p < 0.01). The satisfaction survey showed high scores and positive responses for this simulation in both groups. If the prototype of VR simulation is continuously advanced, it will be applicable for orthodontic education in pediatric dentistry.
