An Estimation-Based Scanning Method of Mobile Relay (이동릴레이의 추정기반 스캐닝 방안)

  • A moving network is the usage model that provides the mobile stations to the communication service via the mobile relay deployed in the high-speed vehicle. The mobile relay periodically performs the signal strength measurement of the neighbor base stations to select the target base station during the handover procedure. The mobile stations experience the service disruption during the measurement of the mobile relay. In this paper, we propose the estimation based scanning method to overcome the service disruption of the mobile stations connected via the mobile relay. In the proposed method, mobile stations subordinated in the mobile relay periodically measure the signal strength of neighbor base stations in order to perform handover. The measured signal strength is used to estimate the signal strength between the mobile relay and the neighbor base station. We performed simulations in order to evaluate the performance of the proposed method in terms of the estimation accuracy and the overhead due to the exchange of channel information. By the simulation result, The estimation error is less than 4dBm when more than 6 mobile stations are used for the estimation. The overhead caused by the proposed method is less than that caused by the direct measurement of the mobile relay when the data rate is more than 8Mbps.

  • 화염중에 존재하는 이온 및 전자의 전기적 성질을 이용하여 연소실내의 화염전파속도를 파악하기 위해 실린더 헤드에 이온 프로브를 삽입하여 천연가스 및 가솔린의 화염전파속도를 측정하였다. 본 연구에 이용된 이온전류장치 설계에 의한 방법은 광학적 측정 장비에 비해 간단하며 쉽게 측정할 수 있고 가격도 저렴하고 응답성도 우수하였다. 이온 프로브의 제작과 신호처리에 관한 기초적인 지식을 얻었으며 천연가스 및 가솔린의 연소시 연소압력의 상승지점과 이온발생지점이 일관성있게 나타났다. 기관회전수의 증가에 따라서 연소실내의 화염전파속도가 증가했으며 같은 연소조건이라고 할 수 있는 동일 기관회전수, 당량비의 조건에서 점화시간에 대한 화염전파속도를 비교해 보면 메탄의 경우가 이론치보다 6 ms∼9 ms 정도 늦었다. 또한, 메탄가스 및 가솔린에 대해 이온 전류강도 및 화염 도달시간을 측정하였으며 연소실 벽면에서는 열전달에 의한 냉각효과로인해 화염 전파속도 및 이온농도가 감소했다.

  • 본 논문에서는 광섬유 장주기 격자쌍과 두 장주기 격자 사이에 삽입된 어븀 첨가 광섬유를 이용하며, 광섬유 브래그 격자 센서 헤드에 가해지는 동적 스트레인을 측정하기 위한 새로운 고분해능 파장 측정 시스템을 제안하였다. 제안된 측정 시스템에 대한 실험을 통해 제안된 시스템이 기존의 비대칭 마하 젠더 간섭계를 이용한 파장 측정 시스템에 비하여 훨씬 높은 분해능을 갖고, 외부 온도 변화에 대한 변동 또한 훨씬 적어진 것을 보였다.

  • The dynamic clustering technique has some problems regarding energy consumption. In the cluster configuration aspect the cluster structure must be modified every time the head nodes are re-selected resulting in high energy consumption. Also, there is excessive energy consumption when a cluster head node receives identical data from adjacent cluster sources nodes. This paper proposes a solution to the problems described above from the energy efficiency perspective. The round-robin cluster header(RRCH) technique, which fixes the initially structured cluster and sequentially selects duster head nodes, is suggested for solving the energy consumption problem regarding repetitive cluster construction. Furthermore, the issue of redundant data occurring at the cluster head node is dealt with by broadcasting metadata of the initially received data to prevent reception by a sensor node with identical data. A simulation experiment was performed to verify the validity of the proposed approach. The results of the simulation experiments were compared with the performances of two of the must widely used conventional techniques, the LEACH(Low Energy Adaptive Clustering Hierarchy) and HEED(Hybrid, Energy Efficient Distributed Clustering) algorithms, based on energy consumption, remaining energy for each node and uniform distribution. The evaluation confirmed that in terms of energy consumption, the technique proposed in this paper was 29.3% and 21.2% more efficient than LEACH and HEED, respectively.

A study on the damage of cutter bit due to the rotation speed of shield TBM cutter head in mixed ground (복합지반에서의 쉴드 TBM 커터헤드의 회전속도에 따른 커터비트 손상에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • This paper presents the cutter bit damage due to the rotation speed of shield TBM cutter head in the mixed ground. The efficient of cutter bits and disk cutter are very important for tunnelling in mixed ground. In particular, this research is focused on the performance of cutter bits during excavation in mixed ground which is consist of the weathered soil and rock formation. In order to carry out this research, the experimental works are prepared performed by using the scaled shield TBM cutter bits evaluation machine developed. The mixed ground is prepared considering with a scale effect of tunnel size. Three different rotation speeds of shield TBM cutter head (i.e. 2, 3, 4 rpm) are applied in the experimental work. The drag forces acting on the cutter bits are measured at each cutter bit during rotation of cutter head. It is also analysed the variation of drag forces due to the rotation speed of shield TBM cutter head. The results of this research are clearly shown that the drag forces acting on the cutter bits are jumped up at the boundary between weathered soil and rock. It is also indicated that the jamping drag forces are increased with increasing the rotation speed of the cutter head. It is found from the research that the higher rotation speed of shield TBM cutter head will be high risk in the mixed ground. It is, therefore, suggested that the use of lower rotation speed of shield TBM cutter head is recommended for reducing the cutter bit damage in practice.

Refurbishment of a 3.6 m earth-pressure balanced shield TBM with a domestic cutterhead and its field verification (국산 커터헤드를 장착한 직경 3.6 m 토압식 쉴드TBM의 제작과 현장적용성 분석)

  • A domestic cutterhead with the diameter of 3.6 m was designed and manufactured in this study. Then, it was attached to an existing earth-pressure balanced shield TBM to excavate a cable tunnel with the length of 1,275 m. Especially, the procedures for TBM cutterhead design and its corresponding performance prediction were also summarized. From field data analyses of the refurbished shield TBM, its maximum advance rate was recorded as 14.4 m/day. Penetration depths of disc cutters were found to be approximately 4 mm/rev, which is equal to the maximum penetration depth designed for the strongest rock strength condition in the target tunnel. Every TBM operating thrust and cutter normal force during TBM driving was much smaller than their corresponding maximum capacities. When cutter acting forces recorded in the field were analyzed, their prediction errors by the CSM model were very high for weak rock conditions. In addition, rock strength showed very close relationships with cutter normal force and penetration depth.

Optical Microphone Incorporating a Reflective Micromirror and a Dual-core Collimator (반사형 마이크로미러와 듀얼 코어 클리메이터를 이용한 광 마이크로폰)

  • An optical microphone based on a dual-core fiber collimator and a membrane type micromirror serving as an optical head and a reflective diaphragm respectively was implemented. The micromirror diaphragm is suspended by a thin silicon bar linked with a frame, thus it is subject to a displacement induced by acoustic waves. The optical head incorporating two collimators integrated in a single housing gives light to and receives it from the diaphragm, rendering the optical microphone structure simple and compact. This dual-core collimator having a slowing varying beam profile facilitates the initial alignment of the optical head with the diaphragm, especially the distance between them. For the assembled microphone, the static characteristics were investigated tofind the operation point defined as the optimum distance between the head and the diaphragm, and a frequency response with a variation of about $\pm$5 dB for the range of up to 3kHz was achieved.

  • 체계적이고 지속적인 소프트웨어 개발 프로세스 측정 및 분석 활동은 프로젝트 관리에 있어서 중요한 요소 중의 하나로 알려져 있다. 하지만 측정 및 분석 활동에 요구되는 높은 비용과 신뢰성 있는 메트릭 데이터 획득의 어려움으로 인해 측정 및 분석 활동을 수행하는 데에는 많은 어려움이 존재한다. 본 논문에서는 메트릭 자동 수집 및 분석 도구와 이 도구를 기반하여 소프트웨어 프로젝트 관련 문제 인식과 문제 해결을 할 수 있게 하는 방법을 제안한다. 도구와 방법을 통해 메트릭 수집에 대한 오버헤드를 없애 측정 및 분석 활동의 수행을 쉽게 할 수 있고 수집된 메트릭의 분석을 통해 객관적으로 이슈를 파악하고 해결 할 수 있다. 또한 프로젝트 중에 메트릭의 지속적인 수집이 가능하고 수집과 동시에 수집된 메트릭에 대한 분석을 할 수 있기 때문에 잠재적인 위험 요소의 조기 식별과 해결을 가능케 하여 소프트웨어 제품의 품질향상과 문제해결에 드는 비용의 절감 효과를 얻을 수 있다.

Location Determination and Measured Data Analysis of a Shipboard Indoor Signal Propagation Characteristics Based on Signature Sequence (서명 수열기반 선내 전파 전달특성 측정 위치선정 방안 및 측정 데이터 분석)

  • The prompt and accurate location determination of the nodes of the wireless indoor shipboard networks is crucial to forming the stable wireless shipboard sensor networks. To this end in this paper it can be achieved through the measurement of the bi-directional channel qualities among the nodes after the locations of the sensor nodes temporarily placed. For the 1st stage the piconet-type sensor networks are considered to measure the channel qualities between a specific node and the cluster node which is the master node. After finishing the 1st stage measurement the nodes needing the relay nodes are selected and the measurement action goes into the 2nd stage. In the 2nd stage the measurement between a candidate relay node and the node needing a relay node starts to begin. After the 2nd stage the relay nodes to connect to the cluster node are fixed and the information delivery paths between a node and the cluster head are established. In this paper the measurement results in the realistic environment are gathered and analysed to show that the measurement procedure can be applied in the wireless indoor shipboard networks.

  • We have implemented a sensor head which consists of erbium doped fiber pumped by 1480 nm LD and single fiber Bragg grating for simultaneous measurement of strain and temperature. The measurement precision and speed are improved by using Mach-Zehnder interferometer instead of optical spectrum analyzer (OSA) as a demodulator. The measurement precision of temperature measured by the amplitude variation of output signal is 0.05$^{\circ}C$ and that of strain measured by the phase variation of output signal is 0.1$\mu$strain. The measurement precision of temperature and strain are improved nearly 140 times and 700 times, respectively, compared to those using an OSA with wavelength resolution of 0.97 nm as d demodulator.
