An Experimental Study to Establish a System for Vertifying the Insulation Performance of Buildings (건축물의 단열성능 검증 시스템 구축을 위한 실험적 연구)

  • Recently, the insulaton design standards for reducing the energy use of buildings have been strengthened. Althoug insulation work is the most cost-effective method for reducing the primary energy consumption per unit area of a building, there are no evaluation criteria for insulation performance at the time of construction and completion inspection. The purpose of this study is to provide objective data by establishing a standard for an analysis method and a method for easily experimenting with the exterior wall thermal transmittance of an apartment house using a thermal transmittance measuring device(TESTO 435). For the exterior wall of the test subject, the specific heat per unit area exceeded 20kJ/(m2·K), and the data at the end point suitable for ISO 9869-1 were analyzed by the average method. The measured values of the thermal transmittance for 3 consecutive days converged within +5% of the desing value, and the standard deviation of the thermal transmittance by day decreased in the order of 1-Day > 3-Day > 2-Day. The standard deviation of the thermal transmittance by time period decreased in the order of 00:00~24:00 < 19:00~07:00 < 00:00~07:00. The measured value of the thermal transmittance for the time perion of 00:00 to 07:00 per day almost coincided with an error of -3% to + 2% compare to the desing value.

Geomorphological Processes of Yuga Alluvial Fan in Korea (유가 선상지의 지형 형성과정)

  • This study shows the geomorphological processes of Yuga alluvial fan at Dalseong-gun, Daegu in Korea, based on characteristics of geomorphological surfaces, analysis of geomorphological deposits and OSL age dating. Alluvial fans of this area are classified into three surfaces(YG-F1, YG-F2, YG-F3) and were formed by the depositional processes resulting from the changes in hydraulic geometry of flowing water which was a stream flowing out of mountains debouched on to a plain, not by a sudden decrease in surface gradient of river bed. YG-F3 surface, about 110,000 yr B.P.(MIS 5.4), was formed as Yongri river deposited a lot of debris. This result was due to the process that the deposition took place actively with the upward of base level as the last interglacial period began. Later, the denudation of the river valley and geomorphological surface constantly occurred and the local and seasonal changes were found in precipitation and stream discharge with the beginning of the interstadial of the last glacial stages(MIS 3), leading to YG-F2 formed by debris flow, earth flow, mud flow and stream flow. Then, short-term climate changes and temporal climate events repeatedly caused aggradation and denudation over time and going through these processes, YG-F1 is believed to have been made by earth flow or mudflow during the last glacial maximum(MIS 2).

Design of RFID Metal Tag Antenna with a Minimum Effect according to Attached Metal Surface Size (부착 금속면 크기에 따른 영향을 최소화 한 RFID 메탈 태그 안테나의 설계)

  • In this paper, we propose a RFID metal tag antenna with a minimum by size of a metal surface to attach. This proposed tag antenna is a patch antenna which is able to stick on metal surface and designed for very slim structure ($119{\times}30{\times}1.6$ mm) antenna that is matched to a chip impedance. This has a loop coupling feeding and consists of a inner radiator and a outer radiator. The outer radiator activates the current to concentrate on the inner radiator regardless of metal size to attach. Also the tag antenna is designed by CST microwave tool and the performance is measured in the anechoic chamber. The optimum antenna has 3.77 % of the matching bandwidth($S_{11}<-10$ dB). The readable range of the tag antenna is about 2.9 m on metal(max. size $700{\times}700$ mm) and 5.5 m in free space according to the measurement results.

Design of Broadband Spiral Antenna for Non-Linear Junction Detector (비선형 소자 탐지용 광대역 스파이럴 안테나의 설계)

  • This paper presents a design of spiral antenna with broad bandwidth for non-linear junction detector(NLJD). An elliptical patch as radiating element located on center position of radiating surface, as well as the spiral elements on radiating surface was designed for broad bandwidth of spiral antenna. An antenna ground structure generating the multi resonance by spiral slit inserted on ground surface was also proposed. In order to realize high directivity and high gain of the proposed antenna, the cavity wall made of Fr4-epoxy and the metal cap were considered in design. As a result, the calculated gain of antenna with metal cap was improved about 3 dB with comparison of antenna without metal cap and the measured main beam directivity toward -z axis direction agreed well with calculation result. The measured axial ratio satisfied the circular polarization within -z axis ${\pm}45^{\circ}$ at design frequency bands and showed reasonable agreement with prediction.

A Dual-Sprial Line Loaded Monopole Antenna having a Vertical Groundplane for Quadband Applications (수직 접지면을 가지는 4중 대역용 이중 스파이럴 라인 로디드 모노폴 안테나)

  • In this paper, we propose a dual-spiral line loaded monopole antenna having a vertical ground plane for quadband applications. The antenna occupies a volume of $38{\times}12{\times}7\;mm^3$ with a $40{\times}92\;mm^2$ ground plane. The measured impedance bandwidths of the antenna based on $VSWR{\le}2$ are approximately of 11.7 % and 24.8 % in the first and second frequency band, respectively. The operating frequency can simultaneously cover Cellular($0.824{\sim}0.894\;GHz$), PCS($1.750{\sim}1.870\;MHz$), UMTS($1.920{\sim}2.170\;MHz$), and IMT-2000($1.885{\sim}2.200\;GHz$) bands. The maximum gains of the antenna are -0.99 dBi, 4.07 dBi, 2.72 dBi, and 4.33 dBi at the center frequencies of the Cellular, PCS, UMTS, and IMT-2000 bands, respectively. Good radiation patterns are experimentally obtained.

Design of Dual-Band Monopole Antenna Fed-by CPW Using Asymmetric Ground Plane (CPW 급전 비대칭 접지면을 이용한 이중 대역 모노폴 안테나 설계)

  • The folded monopole antenna for applying mobile communications equipment and wireless devices is presented in this paper. By using the coplanar waveguide feed the operating bandwidth has improved. In addition, each individual resonant elements has occurred different capacitance through asymmetrical left and right ground planes; therefore, the bandwidth has kept and the impedance matching has stabilized. By measurement results, the impedance bandwidth under VSWR< 2.5:1 are $824{\sim}890$ MHz and the $1,500{\sim}2,170$ MHz, also radiation patterns has omni-directional characteristics. The maximum gains of the proposed antenna are 5.52, 0.64, 3.00, 0.94 and 1.85 dBi at 850, 1,575, 1,790, 1,930 and 2,050 MHz respectively. The proposed antenna will be adapted to the internal antenna of the mobile communication devices.

Model Tests on Ground Deformation during Trench Excavation for Diaphragm Walls (지중연속벽 시공을 위한 트렌치 굴착시 지반변형에 관한 모형실험)

  • A series of model tests were performed to investigate the ground deformation during trench excavation for diaphragm walls. An apparatus was manufactured to observe the failure pattern of a slurry-supported trench in sandy ground. Ground deformations including settlement and lateral displacement of the surrounding ground adjacent to the trench were carefully monitored during excavation. Experimental observations indicated that the settlement of the adjacent ground increased with closing to the trench. Especially, the considerable settlement occurred at the distance which was equal to 40% of the excavation depth. And, the higher settlement was obtained when the relative density of ground was looser and the ground water table was higher. Also, the lateral wall face of excavated trench was bulged with lowering the slurry level In stages and then the upper part of trench failed finally. The envelope of ground surface settlement could be represented as a hyperbolic line and the measured settlement was smaller than those predicted by Clough and O'Rourke (1990).

  • The serious consequences of the roadside erosion and its impact on sedimentation and deterioration of roadside landscape continue to be documented in Koreas. An analysis on the landscape conservation treatments was made through the field survey for the 8 radial roadsides around Seoul area. This was performed to identify and evaluate the present restoration measures, and to establish the practical standard measures for the landscape conservation treatments on the cut-and banking roadside slopes.

  • 최근 3 차원 측정 기술을 활용한 운동 기능성의 향상을 위한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 그 예로 3 차원 인체 정보를 이용한 의복패턴 제작 시에 필요한 절개선으로 피부상에서 동작 시 늘어나지 않는 선(Lines of Non-Extension, LoNE)을 찾아내어 활용한 연구가 발표된 바 있다. 이러한 LoNE 은 기존 의복구성을 위한 봉제선이나 기능선으로 활용될 때 동작기능성을 저해하지 않는 특징이 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 스포츠웨어에서 활동성이 큰 상체의 어깨부위에서 Lines of Non-Extension 을 탐색하고자 하였다. 연구 방법으로는 20 대 후반 남성 2 명을 대상으로 체표의 등 부분에서 3cm 간격으로 계측점을 표시한 후 3D 인체 데이터 (Cyberware, WB)를 획득하였다. 측정시의 자세는 팔을 $30^{\circ}$, $90^{\circ}$, $135^{\circ}$, $180^{\circ}$ 외전시켰다. 피부 표면에서의 길이 변화는 구획의 크기를 달리하면서 가로, 세로, 사선방향으로 동작에 따라서 측정하였다. 변화량은 정자세($30^{\circ}$)를 기준으로 A 라 하였을 때, 기준자세와의 차이가 가장 큰 변화량을 보인 자세를 B 라 하고 A 와 B 간의 차이로 계산하였다. 연구결과, NASA 의 Biosuit 에서 소개된 Iberall(1970)의 LoNE 중 진동둘레를 포함한 팔 부위와 등, 어깨 부위에서 유사한 라인을 찾았다. 본 연구에서와 같이 구획별 사선방향 피부 변화량을 측정하는 것은 피부면에 숨겨진 인간공학적 의복 기능선을 탐색하는 데 효과적임을 확인하였다.

Automatic Detection of the Updating Object by Areal Feature Matching Based on Shape Similarity (형상유사도 기반의 면 객체 매칭을 통한 갱신 객체 탐지)

  • In this paper, we proposed a method for automatic detection of a updating object from spatial data sets of different scale and updating cycle by using areal feature matching based on shape similarity. For this, we defined a updating object by analysing matching relationships between two different spatial data sets. Next, we firstly eliminated systematic errors in different scale by using affine transformation. Secondly, if any object is overlaid with several areal features of other data sets, we changed several areal features into a single areal feature. Finally, we detected the updating objects by applying areal feature matching based on shape similarity into the changed spatial data sets. After applying the proposed method into digital topographic map and a base map of Korean Address Information System in South Korea, we confirmed that F-measure is highly 0.958 in a statistical evaluation and that significant updating objects are detected from a visual evaluation.
