해상교통을 고려한 항로폭 결정에 관한 연구

  • 최근 해상교량을 비롯한 다양한 형태의 해상시설물이 건설 중에 있으며, 선박과 시설물의 충돌 등 안전사고도 또한 급증하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 해상에 새로운 시설을 설치할 때 해상교통을 고려한 적정항로폭 및 안전수역에 대하여 분석하였다. 목포대교 인근수역을 대상으로 통계적 분석을 통해 교통 흐름을 재현하고, 환경스트레스 모델을 이용하여 수역안전성을 평가하였다.

  • 가상현실 기술은 다양한 유형으로 발전하고 있다. 해양경찰은 함정 조함 교육을 위해 두 가지 가상현실 환경에서 실습이 진행 중이다. 이 연구는 두 가지 가상 현실 환경에서 조함 교육효과가 어떻게 나타나는지 알기 위해 항해 위험성을 평가하고 분석하였다. 실물형은 데스크톱형보다 최근접거리가 더 길고, 대각도 타 사용 시간과 비상인지 시간이 더 길게 나타났다. 향후 해양경찰 함정 교육을 위한 최적의 가상현실 환경을 구축하고 확장하는데 기초자료로 활용할 예정이다.

Ultrasound Measurement of Coracohumeral Distance in Patients with or without Subcoracoid Impingement (오구돌기하 충돌 증후군 유무에 따른 초음파를 이용한 상완오구돌기 계측)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate coracohumeral distance (CHD) in patients with or without subcoracoid impingement with hypothesis that patients with subcoracoid impingement would have narrower CHD. Materials and Methods: One hundred twenty-four patients with subacromial impingement were evaluated. The subjects with subcoracoid impingement which was affirmed clinically and confirmed by ultrasound guided subcoracoid injection (n=28) was compared with patients with subacromial impingement only (n=96). Patients with stiffness and rotator cuff tear were excluded. Absolute CHD was measured on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) axial images and on ultrasound with the humerus in neutral position and internal rotation. Also relative ratio of distance difference (RRDD) defined as the difference of CHD in neutral position and internal rotation compared with absolute CHD in neutral on ultrasound was also measured. Results: The distance measured in neutral position was similar between US imaging and MRI (p>0.05) and both measurements did not have significant difference between the two groups (p>0.05). On ultrasound, the difference in CHD in internal rotation between the two groups nearly met the level of significance (p=0.07). No significant difference of CHD difference in two humeral positions was seen between the two groups. However, RRDD value was significantly greater in subcoracoid impingement group (p<0.05). Conclusion: No significant difference of CHD was seen between the subcoracoid impingement group and the control group. RRDD value was greater in subcoracoid impingement group suggesting that individualized coracohumeral distance in internal rotation should be taken into account when assessing patients with subcoracoid impingement.

  • 2,097 deaths out of 5,229 by traffic accident occurred by vehicle to vehicle crash and 855 deaths out of 2,097 occurred at side crash in 2011. Korean government adopted New Car Assessment Program to reduce the wounded and deaths at traffic accident in 1999 and side impact test has been added in 2003. 43 out of 53 vehicles tested in NCAP side impact rated 4 and 5 stars means the highest occupant protection. In this study three small class vehicles have been tested according to Insurance Institute for Highway Safety's side crashworthiness test protocol. IIHS test protocol uses 1,500kg moving barrier rather than NCAP's 950kg and the occupant protection rated Good, Acceptable, Marginal and Poor based on injury measure, structural integrity and head protection.

A Numerical Study on Combustion-Stability Rating of Impinging-Jet Injector Using Air-Injection Technique (공기분사 기법을 이용한 충돌형 제트 분사기의 연소 안정성 평가에 관한 수치적 연구)

  • Combustion stability rating of jet injector is conducted numerically using air-injection technique in a model chamber, where air is supplied to oxidizer and fuel manifolds of the model five-element injector head. A sample F(fuel)-O(oxidizer)-O-F impinging-jet injector is adopted. In this technique, we can simulate mixing process of streams flowing through oxidizer and fuel orifices under cold-flow condition without chemical reaction. The model chamber was designed based on the methodologies proposed in the previous work regarding geometrical dimensions and operating conditions. From numerical data, unstable regions can be identified and they are compared with those from air-injection acoustic and hot-fire tests. The present stability boundaries are in a good agreement with experimental results. The proposed numerical method can be applied cost-effectively to stability rating of jet injectors when mixing of fuel and oxidizer jets is the dominant process in instability triggering.

  • KNCAP is a program to evaluate the automobile safety, providing consumer vehicle safety assessment results. The safety evaluation tests are Frontal Impact, Offset Frontal Crash, Side Crash, Side Pole Crash, Rear Impact. This is the study of the offset frontal impact safety evaluation. Currently, IIHS is performing a small overlap test. NHTSA plans to implement the oblique moving deformable barrier test. Euro-NCAP plans to implement a mobile frontal impact test. Simulation is used to compare occupant behavior and injury. We have investigated whether the introduction of the test at KNCAP is necessary. The dummy model used in the simulation was the 50th percentile male Hybrid III dummy.

  • 컴퓨팅 기술의 발전에 따라 선박의 안전항해를 지원하기 위해 Radar, GPS 등 다양한 장비들이 계량, 개발되고 있으며 그들은 선박 항해에 필요한 많은 정보를 제공하고 있다. 하지만 여전히 선박 충돌사고는 끊이지 않고 있으며, 선박 대형화에 힘입어 그 피해도 커지고 있는 실정이다. 이러한 선박 충돌사고는 앞에서 언급한 선박 항해 안전 장비의 성능제약을 받는 야간이나, 해상 환경 악화 시 두드러지게 발생하고 있으며, 특히 제한적인 상황에서 인간의 눈에만 의지해서 항해를 하고 있기 때문이기도 하다. 그래서 이러한 상황에서 Vision기술을 사용하여 카메라를 활용 상대선박을 자동으로 식별하는 시스템을 제안하고자 한다. 이는 선박들이 법적으로 야간이나 각종 장비들이 제한을 받는 상황에서 근처의 다른 선박에게 상황을 전달하기 위해서 등화(불빛)와 형상물을 사용해야한다는 점에서 착안하였다. 제안 시스템을 실제 해상 환경에서 실험하기에 제한점이 많아 프로토타입을 구현하여 실험실 환경에서 실험하고 사용자 평가를 실시하였다. 즉, LED를 가상 등화로 하여 선박에 설치된 것과 동일한 색상과 동일한 위치에 배치하고 이를 카메라를 활용하여 인식 실험을 하였으며 약 90%의 인식률을 보였다. 그리고 이러한 실험화면을 활용하여 항해업무 종사자 15명을 대상으로 사용자 평가를 실시하였으며 대부분의 사람들이 제안된 체계가 해상에서 유용하다고 답변하였다.

  • 해상에서 선박을 운항하는 항해사의 피로도 (Fatigue) 는 안전항해와 매우 밀접한 관계를 가지고 있으며 당직근무 중에 피로가 누적되어 업무수행능력이 저하되면 선박의 충돌 및 좌초 둥과 같은 매우 위험하고 중대한 해양사고를 유발할 가능성이 높아지게 된다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 항해사의 근무환경, 피로유발요인 및 피로증세 등에 대하여 조사하였고, 항해경험자를 대상으로 정신적 육체적인 작업부하도에 대한 피로도 평가관련 설문조사를 실시하고 그 결과를 분석하였다. 그리고 이와 같은 피로도 조사 및 설문조사 분석결과를 바탕으로 항해사의 피로도 평가항목을 선정하고 이를 토대로 항해사의 업무수행능력을 평가하기 위한 피로도 평가모델을 제시하였다.

Contention/Collision Mitigation Scheme in IEEE 802.15.4 Mesh Sensor Networks (IEEE 802.15.4 메쉬 센서 네트워크에서의 경쟁 및 충돌 완화 기법)

  • This paper address a new scheme that alleviates the packet collision problem caused by contentions among nearby coordinators (CNs) in IEEE 802.15.4 meshed sensor networks. In existing studies, the number of retransmissions is reduced by adjusting the proper backoff period (BP) of sensor nodes, or unnecessary energy consumption is diminished by increasing channel utilization efficiently based on traffic load. In contrast, the proposed scheme avoids contentions among nearby CNs, thereby it enhances the energy efficiency of sensor nodes. To achieve this, the proposed scheme separates the starting points of CNs' contention periods and reduces contentions and collisions among overlapping CNs. According to our simulation results, the proposed scheme shows improved performance in terms of energy consumption, throughput, the number of collisions, and average delay for all conditions.

Binary Negative-Exponential Backoff Algorithm to Enhance The Performance of IEEE 802.11 WLAN (IEEE 802.11 무선랜의 성능 향상을 위한 Binary Negative-Exponential Backoff 알고리즘)

  • IEEE 802.11 has employed distributed coordination function (DCF) adopting carrier sense multiple access with collision avoidance (CSMA/CA). To effectively resolve collisions, DCF uses binary exponential backoff (BEB) algorithm with three parameters, i.e., backoff stage, backoff counter and contention window. If a collision occurs, stations involving in the collision increase their backoff stages by one and double their contention window sizes. However, DCF with BEB wastes wireless resource when there are many contending stations. Therefore, in this paper, to enhance the performance of wireless LAN, we propose binary negative-exponential backoff (BNEB) algorithm which maintains a maximum contention window size during collisions and reduces a contention window size to half after successful transmission of a frame without retransmissions. For IEEE 802.11, 802.11a and 802.11b standards, we also compare the performance of DCF with BEB to that with BNEB.
