Application of SFRC as a lining material in tunnels (터널라이닝 구조재로서 SFRC 적용에 관한 연구)

  • As the topography of Korea consists of mountains at about seventy percent, there is necessarily an increasing demand for tunnel construction according to the expansion of the existing highway and construction of new highway. The concrete lining of tunnel portals has been designed with reinforced concrete to resist the cracking due to the difference in temperature in the inside and outside of tunnel. In the paper, the application of steel fiber reinforcement concrete was analyzed as the lining concrete at tunnel portals and through structure analysis and field model test the suitability of the steel fiber reinforcement concrete was assessed as the lining member of tunnel portal.

  • 생활공간 냉난방용 열펌프의 성능향상을 위해 R22의 대체 냉매로서 새로운 혼합냉매R22/R23/R152a(RM-1)을 개발하고 U. S. A.의 NIST사의 REFPRO Pprogram을 이용해 이 혼합냉매의 P-h diagram을 구성하여 실용화에 이용할 수 있도록 하였다. 본 연구는 실험을 통해 R22와 RM-1의 열펌프 성능효과를 분석하였다. 입 출구 물의 온도와 제2의 전열매체로서 물의 질량유량, 압축기의 소요 에너지 그리고 열펌프의 기타 열적 특성을 다양한 조건하에서 측정하였다. 이 실험 데이터를 통해 공기-물 열펌프 시스템에서의 RM-1과 R22의 성능계수(COP)를 비교하였다. 이를 통해, 혼합냉매 RM-1을 사용하는 열펌프 시스템은 외기온 $-17^{\circ}C$에서도 2.2의 성능계수로 작동하는 결과를 본 연구에서 보여주었다.

A Study on Performance Characteristics for a CNG Regulators of Automotive Vehicle (차량용 CNG 레귤레이터의 성능특성에 관한 연구)

  • The fuel pressure regulator mounted on CNG vehicles is used to maintain a constant pressure in the fuel injection system. It needs precise fuel pressure control to obtain benefits of high efficiency and low emissions in CNG vehicles. In this study, a high pressure test rig for the performance evaluation of CNG regulators was introduced. Two different CNG regulators were tested and compared each other at various test conditions. Results showed that dynamic response and creep characteristics are directly effected by the valve assembly design. Gas temperature was dramatically dropped at hish supply pressure conditions, so that effective design for coolant bowl is needed to prevent icing problem.

  • 산업의 발달과 환경에 대한 관심이 높아짐에 따라 고효율, 저공해인 가스터빈의 응용범위가 넓어지고 있는 추세이다. 가스터빈 기관의 효율을 높이기 위해서는 터빈 입구온도를 높이는 것이 필수적인데 이는 재질에 의해 제한 받게 되고 이 때문에 효과적인 냉각방법의 필요성이 대두되었다 충돌제트는 국소적으로 높은 열/물질 전달 효과를 얻을 수 있어서 터빈 블레이드 냉각과 연소기 벽면 냉각에 효과적으로 응용 될 수 있다. 이러한 충돌제트의 냉각효과는 제트출구의 초기조건에 매우 민감한데 Kelvin-Helmholts 불안정은 불안정한 자유전단층에서 자연적인 와류생성(roll up)과 개개의 와류고리 형성의 원인이 되고 이 고리의 성장과 병합(pairing)은 제트의 유동특성에 상당히 영향을 미친다. 제트주위에 생성되는 이러한 와류에 의해 제트중심에서 속도와 난류강도가 변하게 된다. 이러한 제트초기의 불안정성은 하류에서의 와류성장에 영향을 끼치기 때문에 와류의 조절에 의한 충돌 면에의 열 전달 효과 상승을 기대할 수 있다. 이 조절방법은 크게 두 가지로 나눌 수 있는데 하나는 제트주의 환형관에 이차유동을 가하여 와류를 직접 제어함으로써 자유전단류(free shear layer flow)의 안정성 원리를 이용하여 열 전달을 촉진하는 것이고 다른 하나는 음향여기(acoustic exitation)를 사용하여 제트주위의 와류형성을 조절하는 것인데, 자연적으로 형성되는 와류의 주파수(와류의 고유주파수)나 부조화 주파수(subharmonic)로 음향여기 시키는 경우 제트 주위 와류는 더욱 증폭되고 그렇지 않은 경우 제트주위 와류의 형성이 억제되어 더 긴 제트코어의 길이 및 제트코어 주위에서 작은 크기의 와류들이 형성된다.

  • High temperature oxygen and water vapor was generated from catalytic decomposition of rocket grade highly concentrated hydrogen peroxide, and monopropellant thruster system was developed and applied into space propulsion system. In this research, background research and conceptual design of underwater propulsion system using catalytic decomposition of hydrogen peroxide was progressed. Two types of system was designed with different steam injection methods. Propulsion system that has ring-type steam injector was manufactured and performance estimation of system was performed with different nozzle exit area. Performance evaluation with central steam injection type jet engine will be progressed in the future.

  • Numerical heat/flow analysis was performed on a liquid rocket engine head with the cooling water manifold to ensure the durability of a ground test facility for heat exchanger. Through these studies, the shapes of the injector and the flow path were determined and applied to the head of the engine under development. Firing tests were conducted to verify the designed coolant manifold and no thermal damage was found on the engine-head-face. Comparing the combustion test results with the numerical analysis, the outlet temperature of coolant showed a difference of about $15^{\circ}C$. This trend is reasonable considering existence of LOX manifold, thermal barrier coating, and the actual location of flame.

  • The major objectives of the study are to suggest the optimal basic design conditions for the horizontal storage tank system. For this purspose computer simulation has been carried out to find the characteristics of flow patterns in horizontal storage tank, and experiments have been carried out for the duration of one turnover, Experimental parameters are volume flow rate(1 LPM to 4 LPM), amount of heat generated from heat sources(0 W to 100 W), and inlet and outlet port types of the storage tank(DD type, DO type, ID type, IO type).

A Numerical Study on the Thermal Performance of a Solar Air Heater Depending on the Hole Configuration and Geometry in the Absorber Plate (태양열 공기가열기의 흡열판 홀 배치와 형상에 따른 열적 성능에 관한 수치해석적 연구)

  • A series of numerical analyses was conducted to predict the thermal performance of a solar air heater depending on the hole configuration and geometry in the absorber plate. The planar dimensions of the prototype were 1 m (W) by 1.6 m (H), and the maximum air flow considered was $187m^3/h$. It was considered that protruding holes with a triangular opening in the absorber plate would invoke turbulence in the air flow to enhance the convection heat transfer. Six different hole configurations were investigated and compared with each other, while the hole opening height was considered as a design variable. Three-dimensional transient analyses were performed with a commercial software package on the airflow and heat transfer in the model. The numerical results were analyzed and compared from the view point of the outlet air temperature and its time response to derive the optimal hole pattern and hole opening height.

Combustion Characteristics Based on Injector Shape of Supersonic Combustor (초음속 연소기의 인젝터 형상에 따른 연소특성)

  • A direct connected test was conducted for a supersonic combustor with a cavity-type flame holder. Liquid hydro-carbon fuel was injected in different types of injectors: inclined and aeroramp injectors, for the flow condition of Mach 4 at an altitude of 20 km. The static pressure on the combustor wall along the axis and the total pressure at the exit of combustor were measured to analyze the combustion characteristics at various fuel flow rates.

A Study on the Effect of Non-Clean Water Treatment Chemicals for R-134a Turbo-Chiller Condensers (R-134a 터보냉동기 응축기의 무세정 수처리 약품 효과 연구)

  • This paper presents an experimental study on the main management factors of the condenser contamination such as fouling and corrosion for the R-134a turbo-chiller to save energy, reduce corrosion rates, and reduce maintenance costs through the application of condenser non-cleaning water treatment chemical. The series of experiment is conducted using combining oxidative microbial sterilizers, non-oxidizing microbial sterilizers, and anti-corrosion agents. The leaving temperature difference and corrosion rates for three different combination of chemicals are collected and analyzed. The experimental results show that the cost reduction (4,066,000 Won/year) of the disinfectant (FT-830) can be achieved by adding the oxidative disinfectant (NaOCl) and the non-oxidizing disinfectant (NX-1116). The LTD value is maintained at 1.9℃, and the corrosion rates of copper and carbon steel specimens are 0.07 mpy and 1.61 mpy, respectively.
