A Study on ChunChu in View of Post-Neo-Confucian Found in the Shim Dae-Yoon's ChunChuSaJeonSokJeon (심대윤(沈大允) 『춘추사전속전(春秋四傳續傳)』의 탈성리학적 『춘추』 이해)

  • Shim Dae-Yoon's ChunChuSaJeonSokJeon presented a new direction of the study about ChunChu in Chosun dynasty. It broke the rigid frame for the study about ChunChu in Chosun dynasty and was an experimental challenge trying to interpret ChunChu based on the view of Post-Neo-Confucian. This study is to identify the nature of the Shim Dae-Yoon's interpretation about ChunChu based on the view of Post-Neo-Confucian and to analyze his analytical methodology. Shim Dae-Yoon's interpretation about ChunChu, first of all, newly identified its nature beyond existing Confucian approach. Second, it attempted to approach to the true nature of ChunChu criticizing existing Confucian interpretation as well as differentiating its interpretation methodology. In this approach, Shim Dae-Yoon highlighted the realistic value of ChunChu focusing on the objectivity as a record instead of the absoluteness as a classical text. His study about ChunChu can be evaluated as a significant role in the intellectual history setting up a Post-Neo-Confucian foundation for the study about ChunChu though it failed to structure a complete theoretical frame.

  • This paper examines the standard codes (Gangnyung: 綱領), basis of the study of Chunchu in Chunchuhak tradition during Chosun dynasty, through Park Sechae's Chunchubopyeon. The author aims to uncover the common awareness of, or an agreed view of, Chunchu among scholars of Chosun dynasty. Since Chunchubopyeon represents the Neo-Confucian understanding of Chunchu, it can be argued that the Gangnyung section of this book contained the standard codes which formed the basis of Chunchu studies. Of five key themes in Gangnyung, this paper addresses two in detail, and . The first argues that Chunchu is the grand principle of governing the world; a living law which drives the reality. The second theme, through a detailed recording of Chunchu, examines the grand principle of Chunchu. When studies after the present paper address the remaining themes in Gangnyung, it is expected that an access to the general characteristics or features of Chunchuhak during Chosun dynasty will be granted.

  • With Seopa Ryu-Hee's Chunqiugwalyebulyu as the main research subject. this paper is to clarify characteristics in classification of the book's introductory remarks and its academic values. This book is a sort of synthetic collection of introductory remarks classification that defines standardized introductory remarks based on fundamental principles of Chunqiu introductory remarks. Seopa presented two fundamental principles for classifying Chunqiu introductory remarks. First, he clearly defined the nature and the system of the book Chunqiu, which was to present the background of classifying Chunqiu introductory remarks. Second, he declared that writing style and righteousness in Chunqiu serves as standard for classifying the introductory remarks. Seopa classified introductory remarks by type in accordance with these fundamental principles of introductory remarks in order to lay the groundwork for right interpretation of Chunqiu. Further, he was convinced that this classification of introductory remarks would block any chance of the book's wrong interpretation and at the same time, be able to remove the rationale behind distorted theories. This book can be appraised to have significant academic values in that it attempted standardization in classifying Chunqiu introductory remarks through systematic and synthetic analysis on various introductory remarks.

  • This thesis is to clarify King Jeongjo's perspective on Chunchu and critical mind on Chunchu Study in Joseon through analyzing more than twenty sets of King Jeongjo's Chaekmun: Chunchu (策文:春秋) which are included in Hongjaejeonseo (弘齋全書). Chaekmun covers extensive themes of Chunchu Study such as composition or contents of Chunchu and assessment of Chunchu and three legends, etc. With this Chaekmun, King Jeongjo emphasized importance of the scripture Chunchu as the 'great scripture for governing a nation' and stressed the need of right interpretation and understanding on Chunchu. Along with the Article Chunchu in Gyeongsagangeui in the year of 1793 and 1796, this material presents not only King Jeongjo's perspective on Chunchu and his academic characteristics but also status and major issues of Chunchu Study in Joseon with significant value in history of thoughts.

Understanding and Evaluation of Spring Autumn-Hak by Academic Circle of the Early Qing Dynasty - Focused on 「Gyeongbu·Spring Autumn」,『Sagojeyo』 (청초(淸初) 학술계의 춘추학(春秋學)에 대한 이해와 평가 - 『사고제요(四庫提要)』 「경부(經部)·춘추류(春秋類)」를 중심으로)

  • The academic circle of the Qing Dynasty has seen a new trend, mostly based on Han-Hak through the event of the publication of "Sagojeyo" and sought a new change in the sector of Spring Autumn-Hak as well. This study is focused on understanding and evaluation of the developmental process of especially the traditional Spring Autumn-Hak view, among some views of "Sagojeyo" by the book. "Sagojeyo" does a critical analysis of Gongyang-Hak and Gokryang-Hak and the interpretation of "Spring Autumn" made by Song-Hak scholars, and which seems a kind of preparatory step to build up a new research methodology for Spring Autumn-Hak. "Sagojeyo" emphasizes the importance of "Jwacijeon" and also points out its weaknesses and strongly demands the acceptance of strengths "Gongyangjeon" and "Gokryangjeon" have in order to compensate such demerits. Even further, it tries to evaluate Spring Autumn-Hak of the Song Dynasty objectively and reasonably as possible with no prejudice. Such analysis attitude made it possible for Spring Autumn-Hak to get a new turning point starting from the publication of "Sagojeyo". The new research methodology that comprehensively judges historical research and fidelity discourse could be one of important achievements discovered in the Han-Hak-centered academic circle in the early Qing Dynasty.

Breeding of a new oyster mushroom cultivar 'Daejang 3ho' (느타리버섯 신품종 '대장3호'의 육성)

  • 'Daejang 3ho' is a new cultivar of oyster mushroom for high productivity than that of Chunchu 2ho. This cultivar was bred by Di-mon mating between monokaryotic strains isolated from 'Daejang 1ho' and dikaryotic strain 'Jangan 5ho'. The color of pileus and the shape of pileus of new cultivar were dark gray and deeply funnel shape, respectively. The length and thickness of stipe were longer and thicker than those of Chunchu 2ho. It took 4~5 days to formation of primordia, that was a similar to Chunchu 2ho. The optical temperature of fruit body was $14-17^{\circ}C$. Yield of 'Daejang 3ho' was 13.9% higher than that of Chunchu 2ho. Analysis of RAPD by URP-primer of #03, #08, #10 and #11 showed that different band pattern those of other strains. There were no significant differences between the texture properties of 'Daejang 3ho' and Chunchu 2ho.

  • In the scriptures of "$Ch{\bar{u}}n-qi{\bar{u}}$(春秋)", the expression method of '$Ch{\bar{u}}n-w{\acute{a}}ng-zh{\bar{e}}ng-yu{\grave{e}}$(春王正月 : It's spring. It's the first month regulated by the king.)' was used as Jì-yuè-fǎ(紀月法 : the rules to determine the first month(正月)), the month of winter solstice was regarded as the first month of a year, and three years since then were named as $Ch{\bar{u}}n$(春 : spring). With regard to this "$Ch{\bar{u}}n-qi{\bar{u}}$"Wáng-lì("春秋"王曆 : the calendar regulated by the king of $Zh{\bar{o}}u$(周) dynasty in "$Ch{\bar{u}}n-qi{\bar{u}}$"), depending on whether Confucius(孔子) changed and recorded the names of the months and the season or not, there were three different arguments; the theory that 'Confucius changed the names of both the months and the season'(孔子改月 改時說), the view that 'Confucius changed the name of the season, not the names of the months'(孔子不改月 改時說), and then the theory that 'Confucius changed neither the names of the months nor the name of the season'(孔子不改月 不改時) since Song(宋) dynasty. The first view was taken by $Hh{\acute{u}}-{\bar{a}}n-gu{\acute{o}}$(胡安國) and $C{\grave{a}}i-ch{\acute{e}}n$(蔡沈), and the second theory was mentioned by Chéng-yí(程?) and Zhū-zǐ(朱子). The advocates of the third view had become remarkable since Ming(明) dynasty, and one of representatives was Wàng-yáng-míng(王陽明). All of them based their arguments on ancient scriptures and Confucian legal books, and there were cases of taking the same records as the support for different opinions. Confucius' so-called 'Chūn-qiū-bǐ-fǎ(春秋筆法 : the method to describe historical facts by making clear discrimination between right and wrong)' and '$Sh{\grave{u}}-{\acute{e}}r-b{\grave{u}}-zu{\grave{o}}$(述而不作 : the attitude to succeed virtuous men's achievements and only explain and describe them not creating and adding new contents)' could come from thoughts of $Z{\bar{u}}n-w{\acute{a}}ng$(尊王 : to respect the king with the virtues of benevolence, righteousness, propriety, wisdom and sincerity). Therefore, even though Confucius is assumed to have been the writer of "$Ch{\bar{u}}n-qi{\bar{u}}$(春秋)", whether he actually changed and recorded the names of the months and the season in the calendar used in "$Ch{\bar{u}}n-qi{\bar{u}}$" is doubtful. These theories on Confucius's intervention in the calendar of "$Ch{\bar{u}}n-qi{\bar{u}}$" hadn't been discussed as conflicting in reality until Tang(唐) dynasty.

Study on the characteristics of fruit body growth according to incubation temperatures and period for oyster mushroom (느타리버섯 병재배 배양온도 및 배양기간에 따른 생육반응 연구)

  • This study was carried out to determine the proper pin-heading induction time(spawn running time) when different incubation temperature were applied to Pleurotus ostreatus(Chunchu 2ho, Suhan 1ho, Heukpyung). Incubation period was 17 days at 23 and 21 days at 17 for Chunchu 2ho, 17 days at 23 and 26 for Heukpyung, and 22~23 days at 17~23 for Suhan 1ho. Incubation period for Suhan 1ho was not significantly affected by incubation temperature. The time required for initial pin-heading was 4~5 days at 17, 20, 23 and 26 for Chunchu 2ho as well as Heukpyung, and was 3 days at 17, 20, 23 and 5~6 days at 26 for Suhan 1ho. As the incubation period became longer, the available fruit-bodies at Chunchu 2ho were made more but they were short. The yield of Chunchu 2ho and Heukpyung increased when incubated for 22~27 days at 20~23 and that of Suhan 1ho also increased when incubated for 22~23 days at 17~23.

A Study on the Printed Books of Ch'un-ch'iu(春秋) Commentary in Chosun Dynasty Period (조선시대에 간인(刊印)된 "춘추(春秋)" 판본(板本)에 관한 서지적(書誌的) 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to research into the characteristics of the printed hooks of ${\ulcorner}$Ch'un-ch'iu(春秋)${\lrcorner}$ commentary in Chosun dynasty by analyzing the types and forms of the existing printed books through the investigation of the bibliographic records of the books. To achieve this purpose, this study selected some of the 'Chak-pan' catalog(冊板目錄) printed in Chosun dynasty which has relatively clear and accurate history and investigated the block printing's condition of the printed books of ${\ulcorner}$Ch'un-ch'iu(春秋)${\lrcorner}$ commentary. In addition. a comprehensive book catalog of ${\ulcorner}$Ch'un-ch'iu(春秋)${\lrcorner}$ commentary was created by retrieving old book catalog from databases by several authoritative information centers and university libraries. Based on this catalog, this research created a new 'Union Catalog(綜合書目)' which contains bibliographies of the ${\ulcorner}$Ch'un-ch'iu(春秋)${\lrcorner}$ commentary through field investigations by identifying, picture-taking. and copying the real books. The new union catalog functions as the basis of the bibliographic analysis of this research.
