A numerical model to simulate bond-slip behavior of composite beam bridges is introduced in this paper. Assuming a linear bond stress-slip relation along the interface between the slab and girder, the slip behavior is implemented into a finite element formulation. Adopting the introduced model, the slip behavior can be taken account even in a beam element which is composed of both end nodes only. Governing equation of the slip behavior, based on the linear partial interaction theory, can be determined from the force equilibrium and a constant curvature distribution across the section of a composite beam. Since the governing equation for the slip behavior requires the moment values at both end nodes, the piecewise linear distribution of the constant bending moment in an element is assumed. Analysis results by the model are compared with numerical results and experimental values, and load-displacement relations of composite beams were then evaluated to verify the validity of the proposed model.

Because the previous design procedure for the composite wind turbine blade structure using trial and error method takes long time, a improved design procedure by using the program based on classical laminate theory was proposed to reduce the inefficient element. According to the improved design procedure, limitation of strains, stresses and displacements specified by international standard specification IEC1400-1 for the composite wind turbine blade were applied to sizing the structural configuration by using the rule of mixture and the principal stress design technique with a simplified turbine blade. Structural safety for strength and buckling stability was confirmed by the developed analysis program based on the laminate theory to minimize the design procedure. After modifying the preliminary design result with additional structural components such as skin, foam sandwich and mounting joints, stresses, strains, displacements, natural frequency, buckling load and fatigue life were analyzed by the finite element method. Finally these results were confirmed by comparing with IEC1400-1 specification.

Thrust vector control system is control device which is mounted exit of the nozzle to generate pitch, yaw and roll directional force by deflecting flow direction of the supersonic jet from the nozzle. By obtaining control force, jetvane which is exposed in jet flow is working thermal and aerodynamic load. Axial thrust loss and side thrust is affected by shock patterns and interactions between jetvanes according to jetvane geometry and turning angle. In this study, we designed 6 types of jetvane to evaluate pitch, yaw and roll characteristics of ietvane in supersonic flow, and perform the cold flow test in range of turning angles of jetvanes between $0^{\cire}$ and $25^{\cire}$ by $5^{\cire}$ respectively. Also, calculation is going side by side to analyse flow interaction. Results show that there is no interactions between jetvanes upto turning angle 20$^{\circ}$, chord and lead length ratio is very important parameter to aerodynamic performance and maximum thrust loss is appeard to 17% of axial thrust in roll directional control.
In order to properly evaluate the shear strength of reinforced concrete circular columns due to the transverse shear reinforcement, the average of fractions of forces generated along the circular transverse hoops across the shear failure plane in the loading direction is calculated. For this, the center-to-center diameter of circular transverse hoops. spacing and the crack angle measured to the column longitudinal axis are considered. Using these variables, an equation representing the effective section area of circular transverse shear steel is proposed. The study result shows that the constant parameter. used for the calculation of the effective section area of circular hoops over the last 10 years, should not universally be applied any more. The use of the constant parameter may not seriously do harm to the evaluation of shear strength for circular columns with non-seismically designed transverse hoop reinforcement, since it gives slightly conservative results. However. for well-confined circular columns with close spacing or circular steel jacketing. it gives about 20% overestimation of the shear capacity contributed by the transverse hoop steel.

The need is growing for high-speed spindle because various equipment are becoming more precise, miniaturization and high speed with the development of industries. Air-lubricated dynamic bearings are widely used in the optical lithographic manufacturing of wafers to realize nearly zero friction for the motion of the stage. Air-lubricated dynamic bearing can be used in high-speed, high-precision spindle system and hard disk drive(HDD) because of its advantages such as low frictional loss, low heat generation, averaging effect leading better running accuracy. In the paper, numerical analysis is undertaken to calculate the performance of air-lubricated dynamic bearing with herringbone groove. The static performances of herringbone groove bearings which can be used to support the thrust load are calculated. Electrochemical micro machining($EC{\mu}M$) which is non-contact ultra precision machining method has been developed to fabricate the air-lubricated dynamic bearing and optimum parameters which are inter electrode gap size, concentration of electrolyte, machining time are simulated using numerical analysis program.

One of the most efficient procedures for the solution of partial differential equations is the method of differential quadrature. The differential quadrature method (DQM) has been applied to a large number of cases to overcome the difficulties of complex algorithms of computer programming, as well as the excessive use of storage due to the conditions of complex geometry and loading. The in-plane vibrations of curved beams with extensibility of the arch axis, including the effects of rotatory inertial and shear deformation, are analyzed by the DQM. The fundamental frequencies are calculated for members with various slenderness ratios, shearing flexibilities, boundary conditions, and opening angles. The results are compared with the numerical results obtained by other methods for cases in which they are available. The DQM gives good mathematical precision even when only a limited number of grid points is used, and new results according to diverse variations are also suggested.

Concrete is a suitable construction material for long-term structure, however, it is needed to understand the calcium leaching damage caused by exposure to underground pure water for a long time. In this paper, it is experimentally investigated that the characteristics of flexural behavior in RC member damaged by calcium leaching degradation. From the test results, when calcium leaching is happened, yielding load and flexural rigidity is reduced, neutral axis depth and displacement is increased. That is, calcium leaching degradation adversely affects RC member performance. And, when the mineral admixture is used in the calcium leaching environment, it is considered that the optimal replacement ratio should be prepared according to the type of mineral admixture.

Fitting process carried out in the automobile transmission assembly line is classified into three classes; heat fitting, press fitting, and their combined fitting. Heat fitting is a method that heats gear to a suitable range under the tempering temperature and squeezes it toward the outer diameter of shaft. Its stress depends on the yield strength of gear. Press fitting is a method that generally squeezes gear toward that of shaft at room temperature by a press. Another method heats warmly gear and safely squeezes it toward that of shaft. Warm shrink fitting process for the automobile transmission part is now gradually increased, but the parts (shaft/gear) assembled by this process produced dimensional changes in both the outer diameter and profile of the gear. So that it may cause noise and vibration between gears. In order to solve these problems, we need an analysis of warm shrink fitting process, in which design parameters are involved; contact pressure according to fitting interference between outer diameter of shaft and inner diameter of gear, fitting temperature, and profile tolerance of gear. In this study, an closed form equation to predict contact pressure and fitting load was proposed in order to develop an optimization technique of the warm shrink fitting process and verified its reliability through the experimental results measured in the field and FEM, that is, thermal-structural coupled field analysis. Actual loads measured in the field was in good agreements with the results obtained by the theoretical and finite element analysis.

In this task, the tool dynamometer design and manufacture, and the Ansys S/W structural analysis program for tool attachment that satisfies the cutting force measurement requirements of the tool dynamometer system are used to determine the cutting force generated by metal cutting using 3-axis static structural analysis and the LabVIEW system. The cutting power in a cutting process using a milling tool for processing metals provides useful information for understanding the processing, optimization, tool status monitoring, and tool design. Thus, various methods of measuring cutting power have been proposed. The device consists of a strain-gauge-based sensor fitted to a new design force sensing element, which is then placed in a force reduction. The force-sensing element is designed as a symmetrical cross beam with four arms of a rectangular parallel line. Furthermore, data duplication is eliminated by the appropriate setting the strain gauge attachment position and the construction of a suitable Wheatstone full-bridge circuit. This device is intended for use with rotating spindles such as milling tools. Verification and machining tests were performed to determine the static and dynamic characteristics of the tool dynamometer. The verification tests were performed by analyzing the difference between strain data measured by weight and that derived by theoretical calculations. Processing test was performed by attaching a tool dynamometer to the MCT to analyze data generated by the measuring equipment during machining. To maintain high productivity and precision, the system monitors and suppresses process disturbances such as chatter vibration, imbalances, overload, collision, forced vibration due to tool failure, and excessive tool wear; additionally, a tool dynamometer with a high signal-to-noise ratio is provided.

Fish aggregating devices(FAD) or artificial fish reefs deployed in the ocean space have been developed in various forms. The objective of FAD is to aggregate, cultivate and proliferate aquatic resources by making changes in ocean flows around it. developing spawning grounds, improving feeding areas and protecting larvae and juveniles. Most floating fish aggregating devices(FFAD) are in the form of surface buoys or subsurface buoys with a single point mooring system(SPMS). The mooring line of SPMS for the secure positions of FFAD is expected to keep great stresses as a result of the harsh ocean environment. Laboratory static tests on synthetic fiber ropes used for the SPMS were run. The Nylon wet rope specimen tests under increasing-and-decreasing loads showed about 20% strength drop. Also the logarithmic creep-tie behavior of fiber ropes was observed in the constant load test and compared with Flessner's formula.
