  • It is important to detect the gene-gene interaction in GWAS(Genome-Wide Association Study). There are many studies about detecting gene-gene interaction. The one is Multifactor dimensionality reduction method. But MDR method is not applied continuous data and expanded multifactor dimensionality reduction(E-MDR) method is suggested. The goal of this study is to evaluate the power of E-MDR for identifying gene-gene interaction by simulation. Also we applied the method on the identify interaction e ects of single nucleotid polymorphisms(SNPs) responsible for economic traits in a Korean cattle population (real data).

The Effect of Stage Ceiling Height on the Acoustic Characteristics of Concert Halls (콘서트홀의 무대 천장높이 변화에 의한 객석음향의 영향)

  • In this Paper, the effect of stage ceiling height on the acoustic characteristics of rectangular concert halls are investigated. To find out the acoustic properties of audience area, A simple Boston Symphony Hall(BSH) model which is typically rectangular shaped was applied for computer simulation. A newly built rectangular concert hall with 400 seats was also chosen for a scale model $(1.2m{\times}0.68m{\times}0.31m)$ study and its computer simulation varing the stage ceiling height and the volume. The results show that RT increased as the stage ceiling was lowered and the difference rate of RT by its variance is from -0.09 to -0.06[sec/m].

  • 본 연구에서는 환기 특성에 근거한 축소법칙의 유효성을 평가하기 위해 실규모 및 2/5 축소 구획에 대한 화재를 FDS를 이용하여 모사하고 기존의 실험 결과 및 해석 결과 상호간에 비교 분석을 수행하였다. 실규모 및 축소 모형에 대한 해석 결과를 비교할 때 구획 내부 유동 형태 등에 있어서 다소간의 차이를 보였으나 화염의 분출 거동 및 열유동 분포 등의 거시적인 특성에 대해서는 유사한 결과를 보여주었다.

Examination on Numerical Simulation Using Reduced-scale Model of Theater Fire: Influences of Fire Curtain and Stage Natural Vent (공연장 화재 축소모형을 이용한 전산시뮬레이션 검토: 방화막 및 무대부 자연배출구 영향)

  • In the present study, the influences of the fire curtain and natural vent in a theater fire were investigated through the numerical simulation of a reduced-scale model of a theater fire using the Fire Dynamics Simulator (FDS). Based on a previous experimental study using the reduced-scale model, the 1/14 reduced-scale model and its conditions were constructed according to the law of similarity with a real-scale theater. Through a series of numerical simulations, the smoke movements were visualized, and the temperatures in the stage and auditorium, mass flow rate of the outflow through natural vent, and time at which smoke started moving toward the auditorium were measured and analyzed. The general trends on the effects of the fire curtain and natural vent during the theater fire predicted by the present numerical simulation were similar to the previous experimental results. For quantitative comparison of the present numerical simulation and previous experimental results, the mean percentage errors of temperatures in the stage and auditorium, and the mass flow rate of outflow through the natural vent were calculated. The present numerical simulation results showed good agreement with previous experimental results with reasonable accuracy.

  • 안구의 운동은 시각 환경에서의 진행중인 정보처리와 관련된 지각적, 인지적 과정을 밀접히 반영하는 중요한 지표로서, 특히 공간 지각과의 상관은 비교적 명확히 확립되어 있다. 본 연구는 공간지각에 관여하는 안구운동의 특성을 파악하여, 공간지각을 반영하는 안구운동 지표를 개발한다는 목표 아래, 피험자가 느끼는 공간의 확장과 축소의 특성을 이중도약과제(double-step paraeigm)를 사용하여 관찰한 것이다. 이중도약과제는 도약(saccadic)안구운동의 오차를 유발시키는 실험기법으로, 두개의 시각자극을 하나씩 연속적으로 보여주되, 두번째 자극은 안구운동이 일어나는 도중에 제시하는 것으로서, 인위적으로 왜곡된 공간에 대한 피험자의 공간적응을 관찰하는데 사용되었다. 이 과제는 다시 자극의 이차도약 방향에 따라 축소감 조건과 확장감 조건으로 나뉘었고, 머리운동의 역할을 판별하기 위해 머리를 고정한 조건과 머리를 자유롭게한 조건으로 분류되었다. 그 결과 머리가 고정된 상태에서는 축소감 조건에 대한 적응이 확장감 조건에서보다 더 빨리 일어나고, 그 적응후의 시선이동의 변화량에서도 축소감 조건이 더 크게 나타났다. 또한 머리를 자유롭게 할 공간 지각의 정확성이 증가하며, 축소감과 확장감 경험속도의 차이가 약 49.2%까지 해소되었으나, 여전히 축소감의 경험이 더 잘 일어났다.

An Efficient Video Scale-Down Method on MC-DCT Domain (MC-DCT영역에서의 효율적인 비디오 축소 방법)

  • 본 논문에서는 H.263과 같은 MC-DCT방법을 사용하는 코덱에서 IDCT와 MC(Motion Compensation, 움직임보상)방법을 부분적으로 수정하여 제한된 비율의 축소영상을 디코딩 과정에서 직접 얻을 수 있는 방법을 제안한다. 제안한 방법에서는 8$\times$8 DCT 블록에 대하여 약간의 연산을 가하여 k$\times$k IDCT를 수행하고, 시간적 중복성을 제거하는 과정에서 근사적 움직임벡터를 이용한 2k$\times$2k MC 를 수행하였다. 기존의 코덱을 사용하고 후처리로 축소를 하는 경우와 비교하였을 때에 추가적인 오버헤드가 매우 경미하고 디코딩 과정이 많이 축소되어 계산효율에 있어서 대략 32%의 개선된 실험결과를 얻었고, 화질저하 현상이 개선됨을 실험적으로 보였다.

  • Small-scale models have been frequently used for experimental evaluation of seismic performance because of limited testing facilities and economic reasons. However, there are not enough studies on similitude law for analogizing prototype structures accurately with small-scale models, although conventional similitude law based on geometry is not well consistent in the inelastic seismic behavior. When fabricating prototype and small-scale model of reinforced concrete structures by using the same material. added mass is demanded from a volumetric change and scale factor could be limited due to size of aggregate. Therefore, it is desirable that different material is used for small-scale models. Thus, a modified similitude law could be derived depending on geometric scale factor and equivalent modulus ratio. In this study, compressive strength tests are conducted to analyze equivalent modulus ratio of micro-concrete to normal-concrete. Equivalent modulus ratios are divided into multi phases, which are based on ultimate strain level. Therefore, an algorithm adaptable to the pseudodynamic test. considering equivalent multi-phase similitude law based on seismic damage levels, is developed. In addition, prior to the experiment. it is verified numerically if the algorithm is applicable to the pseudodynamic test.

Boundary Contraction for Wide-Angle Images on Monitor Screen: An Effect of Retention Interval (파지기간에 따른 모니터 화면상 광각이미지의 경계축소현상)

  • Two experiments examined the visual memory distortion by presenting 170 subjects with wide-angle views of four scenes on monitor screen. Retention interval of 0, 1 and 48 hours tested in reproduction and recognition experiment. The results of reproduction showed that the subjects tend to magnify the foreground and background of scenes compared to the real input (scene) for all retention intervals. The viewers recognized mure wide-angle views for the same scenes at the retention interval of 1 and 48 hours. These results demonstrated boundary extension is not a robust and unidirectional phenomenon but boundary contraction can be occurred with wide-angle views. The results also suggested that boundary contraction is the product of the activation of a memory schema hypothesis: In memory the representation moves toward a prototypical view and prototypical object size.

  • The pressure drops through contractions in horizontal single and two-phase flow were investigated. A total of 167 measurements were made for four different entrance shapes to study the effects of the entrance shape on the pressure drop through a contraction in horizontal single and two-phase flow. From this data, pressure drops were calculated and compared with the pressure drops predicted by analytical models for single and two-phase flow. For single phase How the agreement between the data and predictions is within $\pm$25%, whereas for two-phase flow Hoopes model, which gives a better agreement than the homogeneous model, underpredicts the data as much as 45% In addition, the effects of void fraction and liquid phase mass velocity on the pressure drop through the sudden How channel contraction were investigated for two-phase flow.

  • In this paper, wind tunnel test and analytical prediction are compared for result of flapping motion in helicopter forward flight condition. Tests were performed at low speed wind tunnel at Chungnam National University, test section of wind tunnel has 1.8 by 1.8 meter open-jet test section area. According to the results of measured data for aerodynamic performance of model rotor in forward flight. It has to observed the difference of analytical and measured results of power coefficient for fixed thrust coefficient. And calculated and measured data of helicopter rotor flapping angles in forward flight are compared for a model rotor in a wind tunnel. A test was conducted to verify the measured data of coning and lateral/longitudinal flapping angle with predicted values.
