Modeling of the Liquid Rocket Engine Transients (액체로켓엔진 천이작동 예측을 위한 동특성 모델링)

  • A program aiming at predicting dynamic characteristics of a Liquid Rocket Engine(LRE) was developed and examined to trace entire LRE operation. In the startup period, transient characteristics of the propellant flows were predicted and validated with hydraulic tests data. An arrangement of each component for the pipelines was based on an operating circuit of open cycle LRE. The flow rate ratio for the gas generator and the main chamber was determined to mimic that of real open cycle LRE. Individual component modeling at its transient was completed and was integrated into the system prediction program. Essential parameters of the component dynamic characteristics were examined in an integrated fashion.

Comparison of Micronutrients and Flavor Compounds in Breast Meat of Native Chicken Strains and Baeksemi for Samgyetang (삼계용 토종닭과 백세미 가슴살의 미량영양소 및 풍미물질 비교)

  • The micronutrients and flavor compounds of three new native chicken strains (A, C, and D) being developed in a breeding program (Golden Seed Project) were compared with a commercial native chicken strain (H) and the Baeksemi (W, white semi broiler). After 100 male chicks in each strains were reared for 5 weeks, the breast muscles from randomly selected 40 birds were analyzed at 8 replications. Native chicken strain A had greater amounts of α-tocopherol and α-tocotrienol compared with strain W. Native chicken strains showed higher contents of vitamin B12 than Stain W. Stain H strain had the highest values of cholesterol content and strain D did the lowest. There was no different content of most minerals between native chickens (A, C, D, and H) and W, but Cu were more contained in native chicken strains compared with W. In terms of nucleotide-related flavor compounds, Stain A had the lowest content of hypoxanthine and strain D had highest inosine monophosphate. Native chicken strains had higher contents of umami-related free amino acids (glutamate and aspartate) than W. Among native chickens, strain A had more amounts in the contents of taurine, tasty flavor compounds, and certain vitamins, despite of the relatively low growth productivity. This result will provide information to select a strain with characteristic meat quality in a chicken breeding program.

  • The purpose of this paper is to assess experimentally system stability of the 154[㎸]transmission system due to the current of the forthcoming AC High-Speed Railway (HSR) era. It introduces a simple method to evaluate the system stability. The proposed method also shows the relationship between stability and power losses, and the stability indices made by the numerical process proposed in this paper will be used to assess whether a system can be stabilized or not. This paper also presents the improvement of the stability via loss reduction using a shunt compensator. Reactive power compensation is often the most effective way to improve both power transfer capability and system stability. The suitable modeling of the traction power system should be applicable to the PSS/E. The proposed method is tested on a practical system which will be expected to accommodate the heavy HSR load.

Technical Trends for Fuel Cell Aircraft (연료전지항공기 기술 동향)

  • Fuel cells are applied to the propulsion system of aircraft based on environmental-friendly characteristics with low noise and zero emission of CO2, currently many kinds of UAV and small manned aircraft equipped with fuel cells are being developed. Fuel cells for aircraft typically classified into PEMFC(Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell) type and SOFC(Solid Oxide Fuel Cell) type and the system is developed to adapt missions and operational conditions of aircraft. For UAV, various types of aircraft mostly based on PEM fuel cell technology are investigated for military or commercial uses, and the stability and endurance of system will be improved. For small manned aircraft, many researches are carried out to substitute the propulsion system by fuel cell, also some developments for the higher performance of APU of large commercial aircraft to apply fuel cells are in progress. In the future, a fuel cell aircraft will be expected to improve the reliability and efficiency with higher power density.

  • ECS is a control device so that the warship can perform the mission stably by controlling and monitoring the entire propulsion system. As the recent provisions of the warship, it's propelling system is complicated than past, as the demand performance and mission of the warships are diverse. In accordance with the complicated propulsion system configuration, the demand for automatic control function of the ECS is increasing for convenient and stable propulsion system control for convenient and stable. As a result, verification of ECS stability and reliability is required. In this paper, we develop an interlocking signal simulator for verifying ECS control logic and communication protocol for warship with CODLOG propulsion systems. The simulator developed was implemented to simulate a signal of gas turbine, propulsion motors, diesel generator and 11 kinds of auxiliary equipment. The reliability of ECS was verified through the ECS communication program and the I/O signal static test with the simulator.

  • 본 논문은 한전의 "FACTS 계통운용 기술개발연구(II단계:80MVA UPFC 도입, 설치)" 연구과제에서 수행된 연구내용 중 위치결정의 배경 및 기대효과에 대한 사항을 일부 발췌하여 논문으로 작성하였다. 위 연구과제는 한전 전력연구원과 (주)효성 중공업연구소, 전기연구소, 기초연, 미국의 Siemens사가 공동으로 참여하여 80MVA UPFC(Unified Power Flow Controller) 시스템, 변압기, 통신장치 등을 제작, 설치하여 2003년 4월에 완료되는 과제이다. 전력연구원은 80MVA UPFC가 효율적이고. 경제적인 운용이 가능하도록, 한전 본사 관련부서와 협의, 전남지역의 154kV 강진변전소를 설치위치로 최종 결정하였다.

  • This paper presents the test and operation results of the domestic demonstration of the reactive power compensation device called STATCOM (STATic COMpensator). The object of the paper is to describe the reliability of the unit based on the extensive operation databases. The custom power is similar in nature to the concept of FACTS(Flexibel AC Transmission System). By controlling reactive power, the technology offers utilities the opportunity for increased efficiency and their capabilities will permit transmission planners make the best use of their existing transmission resources. STATCOM is a custom power device in a way and can be used in a similar way for the dynamic compensation of power transmission systems, providing reactive power compensation, voltage regulation and mitigation of voltage flicker. It is shown that the STATCOM has clear advantages in areas such as; providing reactive power compensation and improving power factor.

  • 정보시스템의 개발 및 유지보수에 대한 기준은 과기처 등에서 제정한 'S/W 개발비 산정기준'을 준용하고 있다. 그러나 본 기준이 Business Computing 환경을 기준으로 작성되었고, 전력계통 제어를 비롯한 각종 공정제어시스템 구축 환경에 부적합할 뿐 아니라 시스템의 뼈대(Frame)를 구성하는 H/W의 규모 산정이 누락되어 있는 상태이다. 전력거래소는 우리나라의 전력계통 환경에 적합한 한국형 에너지관리시스템(이하 K-EMS)의 국산화 개발을 각종 첨단 S/W의 탑재 기준에 따라 단계별(Baseline, Prototype, Fullscale)로 추진하면서, 각 단계에 가장 적합한 하드웨어의 용량 산정 기준을 선정하는 작업을 진행하고 있다. 이는 정보시스템 개발에서 자원의 낭비를 최소화하고 전체 개발비용을 절감 할 수 있다는 점에서 매우 중요하다. 본 연구에서는 K-EMS 시스템 국산화 개발을 위해 K-EMS가 수용할 각종 응용프로그램별 특성을 감안한 하드웨어의 적정 용량 산정 기준과 적용방안을 제시하고, CPU, Memory 등 세부 항목에 대한 고려항목을 언급함으로써 최적의 K-EMS 하드웨어 Sizing 산정방안을 소개하고자 한다.

  • The electrical power system of Korean Utility Helicopter(KUH) is designed as a dual control system to enhance the system safety of aircraft and each system is installed separately at left and right of the aircraft. The system is composed of 2 AC generators, 1 APU generator, 2 Transformer Rectifier Units(TRU), AC/DC Electrical Master Box(AC/DC EMB). The AC/DC EMB, consists of 2 AC EMB and 2 DC EMB, is essential equipment which supply and distribute electric power to the aviation electronics and electrical equipment of KUH. There were defects caused by internal short circuit in AC EMB during the first production phase of the KUH. This paper describes the analysis of the defects, troubleshooting process, root cause, and the solution by design change.

  • Smart power grid is targeting to improve grid operation by integrating existing power IT technologies in the jeju smart grid field test. Real-time two-way communication and interoperability in power grid are essential to smart power grid. Adopting smart grid will increase security vulnerabilities in power grid by increasing the number of wireless sensors and the chances of the external exposure of communication networks. In addition, hackers can cause chaos in the power grid system with eavesdropping and forgery attacks in communication networks. Smart power grid is one of the most important systems in deploying smart grid, and it is important to design security system systematically since smart grid can be seriously damaged when problem occurs. In this paper, local and global smart grid security standard and security vulnerabilities in power grid are reviewed, and 2 level smart grid service model is proposed.
