In this paper, an efficient method for the ultimate longitudinal strength analysis of the double skin hull girder is presented by using idealized structural unit method. Idealized plate element subjected to biaxial load is developed taking account of initial deflection and welding residual stress. Interaction effect between local and global buckling in the whole structure is also taken into consideration. The reserve strength factor and reliability index for the example 40K double skin product oil carrier are evacuated against the ultimate longitudinal strength. It is concluded that the prudent method seems to be useful in the sense that the computing time required is very short while giving the reasonable solution.

Recently, High Tensile Steel is adapt to thin plate on the steel structure and marine structure is used widely, It is possible for buckling happens great. Specially, Initial deflection of ship structure happens in place absence necessarily by heat processing of welding or cutting etc. This Initial Deflection is exerted negative impact when thin plate absence complicated nonlinear behaviour accompanied secondary budding. As a result, must idealize initial deflection that occurrence is possible to endow stability and accuracy in the hull structure or marine structure and reflect in early structure design considering secondary buckling. Longi direction of compressive load interacts and analyzed finite element series analysis that apply various kinds initial deflection shape measured actually on occasion that is arranged simply supported condition in this research. Applied ANSYS (elasto-plasticity large deformation finite element method) to be mediocrity finite element program for analysis method and analysis control used in Newton-Raphson method & Arc-length method.

The ship plating is generally subjected to combined in-plane load and lateral pressure loads. In-plane loads include axial load and edge shear, which are mainly induced by overall hull girder bending and torsion of the vessel. Lateral pressure is due to water pressure and cargo. These load components are not always applied simultaneously, but more than one can normally exist and interact Hence, for more rational and safe design of ship structures, it is of crucial importance to better understand the interaction relationship of the buckling and ultimate strength for ship plating under combined loads. Actual ship plates are subjected to relatively small water pressure except for the impact load due to slamming and panting etc. The present paper describes an accurate and fast procedure for analyzing the elastic-plastic large deflection behavior up to the ultimate limit state of ship plates under combined loads. In this paper, the ultimate strength characteristics of plates under axial compressive loads and lateral pressure loads are investigated through ANSYS elastic-plastic large deflection finite element analysis with varying lateral pressure load level.

In this study, an attempt for formulating a new and simplified rectangular finite element having only four corner nodal points is made to analyze the elastic-plastic large deformation behaviour up to the ultimate limit state of plates with initial imperfections. The present finite element contains the geometric nonlinearity caused by both in-plane and out-of-plane large deformation because for very thin plates the influence of the former may not be negligible. Treatment of expanded plastic zone in the plate thickness direction of the element is simplified based upon the concept of plastic node method so that the elastic-plastic stiffness matrix of the element is derived by the simple matrix operation without performing complicated numerical integration. Thus, a considerable saving of the computational efforts is expected. A computer program is also completed based on the present formulation and numerical calculation for some examples is performed so as to verify the accuracy and validity of the program.

A finite element analysis code considering elasto-plastic large deformation is developed to predict the ultimate strength of circular cylinders subject to external pressure loading by introducing a new type of axisymmetric shell element which can take into account the plasticity effect due to the circumferential bending while drastically saving the computing efforts compared with the tree dimensional finite element analysis. It is observed that analsis results of present approach show good agreement with the test results of previous works. Parametric study gives the effects of initial imperfections on ultimate strength ahd this information is recommended to be used to modify the actual test data to the ones which can be used more reasonably in making empirical design formulas.

The present Common Structural Rules for double hull oil tanker is not included the residual strength, which is one of the functional requirements in design part of Goal-based new ship construction standards (GBS). The GBS will be enforced after July 1, 2016. The requirement related residual strength has the goal to build safe ship even if she has the specified damages due to marine accidents including collision and grounding. In order to assess the residual strength based on risk for structural damages according to GBS, tons of nonlinear FE analysis work taking into account various types of damage will be needed. The Smith's method, a kind of simplified method for the strength analysis is very useful for this purpose. In this paper, the residual strength assessments based on ultimate strength using Smith's method were carried out. The objected ship is VLCC with stranding damage in bottom structures. Also, the results were compared with that of nonlinear FE analysis using three cargo hold model.

피로파괴의 발생원인을 살펴보면 다음과 같이 4가지로 구별된다. (1) 설계불량 (2) 가공불량 (3) 소재불량 (4) 부적절한 사용 그러나 현재 기계설계시 일반적으로 형상계수 및 충격계수를 포함한 안전율을 여유있게 고려하기 때문에 피로강도가 간접적으로 설계시 반영되어 피로파괴는 주로 가공이나 원소재 불량 및 사용상의 부주의에 의한 경우가 대부분이다. 즉 기계가공 도중에 노치가 유입되어 응력집중을 발생시키거나, 규정된 표면처리 혹은 열처리가 이루어지지 못해서 재료의 피로강도가 저하한 경우가 많으며, 소재 역시 비금속 개재물이 다량 함유되어 있거나 열처리 특성이 조악한 소재가 사용되어 요구되는 강도를 확보하지 못한 경우도 많다. 그 반면 사용자 측에서도 설계강도를 무시한 과부하를 인가하거나, 부식환경 혹은 고온에서 사용하여 피로파괴를 촉진시키는 경우도 있으므로 사용자도 설계조건을 인식하여 그 한계를 넘지 않도록 해야 한다. 피로파괴는 단순한 원인에 의한 경우가 적고 복잡한 여러 형상이 중첩되는 경우가 많기 때문에 해석하기 어려운 경우가 많다. 결국 피로 파괴의 방지는 피로강도를 저하시킬 수 있는 요인들을 종합하여 설계단계에서부터 최종 사용단계까지 지속적인 관리에 의해서만 달성 될 수 있다.

This study presents reliability assessment of merchant ships with focus on hull girder ultimate limit state, taking into account the time-dependent effects of corrosion, fatigue cracking and local denting. Some considerations for establishing a reliability-based repair and maintenance scheme are also made so as to keep a ship's hull girder strength reliability at an acceptable level even later in life.

자동차 부품제조에 있어 비용절감과 경량화에 대한 노력은 시간이 지날수록 더욱 그 강도를 더해가고 있다. 이에 따라 tube hydroforming 공법과 고강도 소재를 결합한 부품제조 기술이 국내에서도 활기를 띄기 시작하여 각 자동차사별로 양산 적용을 앞두고 있다. 포스코는 철강소재 자동차 부품 개발에 대한 촉진 및 신수요 창출을 위하여 hydroforming사업을 시작하였으며 이미 수 종의 부품을 국내 자동차사와 공동으로 개발하여 적용을 추진하고 있다. 특히 인장강도 45kg 이상의 고강도 튜브를 이용한 hydroforming샤시 부품을 국내에서 최초로 개발하였으며 현재 시작품 제작을 완료하였다. Hydroforming 부품의 개발은 부품형상 정보를 이용 CAE를 통한 공정해석, 금형의 상세 설계 및 제작 그리고 시작품 제작의 과정을 통해 이루어지며 최종적으로 양산금형이 제작된다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 일련의 과정을 소개하고자 한다.

경제성과 압접성능의 우수성 때문에 일반 산업기계, 방위산업기계 및 우주항공기계등의 부품생산에 응용되고 있는 마찰 용접에 있어서, 현재 주 관심사 중의 하나는 용접강도에 대한 신뢰성 높은 공정중 비파괴 검출이며 이들의 실용화를 위한 정량적 해석이다. 그러나 이러한 연구는 아직 개발 완성되지 못하고 있다. 본 연구에서는, AE법에 의한 용접강도의 공정중 비파괴적 QC시스템 개발을 최종 목적으로 한 설계자료를 얻기 위하여, 이종강의 봉과 봉, 관과 관의 마찰용접강도와 AE 총누적량에 용접조건이 미치는 영향이 실험적으로 조사되었고, 회전 속도를 매개 변수로 하여 용접강도와 AE 총누적량과의 정량관계가 수립되었다.
