Performance of a 3-Dimensional Signal Transmission System (3차원 신호 전송시스템의 성능)

  • In this paper, a system model for transmission of 3-dimensional (3-D) signals is presented and its performance is analyzed. Unlike 2-D signals, no quadrature form expression for the 3-D signals is available. Exploiting a set of orthogonal basis functions, the 3-D signals are transmitted. As a result of computer simulation using very higher-level signal constellations, the 3-D transmission system has significantly improved error performance as compared with the 2-D system. It is considered that the principal reason for such performance improvement is much increased minimum Euclidean distance (MED) of the 3-D lattice constellations compared with the corresponding 2-D ones. When the MEDs of 2-D and 3-D lattice constellation are compared to confirm the analysis, the MED of 3-D 1024-ary constellation is around 2.6 times larger than that of the quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM). Expanding the constellation size to 4096, the MED of 3-D lattice constellation is increased by 3.2 times of the QAM.

Shortest Path Search Scheme with a Graph of Multiple Attributes

  • In graph theory, the least-cost path is discovered by searching the shortest path between a start node and destination node. The least cost is calculated as a one-dimensional value that represents the difference in distance or price between two nodes, and the nodes and edges that comprise the lowest sum of costs between the linked nodes is the shortest path. However, it is difficult to determine the shortest path if each node has multiple attributes because the number of cost types that can appear is equal to the number of attributes. In this paper, a shortest path search scheme is proposed that considers multiple attributes using the Euclidean distance to satisfy various user requirements. In simulation, we discovered that the shortest path calculated using one-dimensional values differs from that calculated using the Euclidean distance for two-dimensional attributes. The user's preferences are reflected in multi attributes and it was different from one-dimensional attribute. Consequently, user requirements could be satisfied simultaneously by considering multiple attributes.

SMOTE by Mahalanobis distance using MCD in imbalanced data (불균형 자료에서 MCD를 활용한 마할라노비스 거리에 의한 SMOTE)

  • SMOTE (synthetic minority over-sampling technique) has been used the most as a solution to the problem of imbalanced data. SMOTE selects the nearest neighbor based on Euclidean distance. However, Euclidean distance has the disadvantage of not considering the correlation between variables. In particular, the Mahalanobis distance has the advantage of considering the covariance of variables. But if there are outliers, they usually influence calculating the Mahalanobis distance. To solve this problem, we use the Mahalanobis distance by estimating the covariance matrix using MCD (minimum covariance determinant). Then apply Mahalanobis distance based on MCD to SMOTE to create new data. Therefore, we showed that in most cases this method provided high performance indicators for classifying imbalanced data.

  • 본 논문에서는 유클리드 평면상에 도로망이 주어져 있어서 여행자들이 그 도로들을 이용하여 더욱 빠르게 이동할 수 있을 경우를 가정한다. 이 때, 두 점 사이의 거리는 기하학적 직선거리가 아닌 주어진 도로들을 이용하여 두 점 사이를 이동할 때 필요한 최소시간으로 측정한다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 새로운 거리 척도를 고려할 때에 보로노이 다이어그램이 어떤 특성을 갖는 가를 연구하며 그것을 이용하여 보로노이 다이어그램을 효율적으로 계산하는 알고리즘을 제시한다. 이알고리즘은 O(nm$^2$logn+m$^3$logm)의 시간과 O(m(n + m))의 공간을 필요로 한다. 이 때, n은 주어진 싸이트의 개수이고 m은 주어 진 도로의 개수이다.

  • This paper proposes new symbol mapping method that can enhance the performance of trellis coded M-ary PSK compared with conventional symbol mapping methods in AWGN environment. Since the basic criteria of TCM design is Maximum Euclidean distance in AWGN, conventional symbol mapping method keep this basic criteria. In this paper, proposed new symbol mapping method uses both Euclidean distance and Hamming distance to design, while conventional methods make use of only optimal Euclidean distance. New symbol mapping method show the better BER performance than the other through computer simulation and error equations.

Design of 3-Dimensional Cross-Lattice Signal Constellations with Increased Compactness (조밀도가 증가된 3차원 십자격자형 신호성상도의 설계)

  • In this paper, a method to design 3-dimensional (3-D) cross-lattice signal constellations with increased compactness is presented and analyzed. Here, the symbols located at the outermost sides in the conventional lattice constellation are moved symmetrically to fill in empty sides and sunken corners. While the minimum Euclidean distance (MED) among adjacent symbols remains unchanged, the presented cross-lattice constellations have 3~5% reduced average power and upto 25% reduced total volume as compared with the conventional ones. Due to the increase compactness, average power of the new 3-D constellations is lower than that of the conventional ones. As a result, computer simulation verifies that the presented cross-lattice constellations can improve symbol error performance of a digital transmission system about 0.4 [dB]. Hence, the proposed 3-D cross-lattice constellations are appropriate for low-power and high-quality digital communication systems.

  • In many real-world data, multiple response variables are often dependent on the same set of explanatory variables. In particular, if several response variables are correlated with each other, simultaneous estimation considering the correlation between response variables might be more effective way than individual analysis by each response variable. In this multivariate regression analysis, least distance estimator (LDE) can estimate the regression coefficients simultaneously to minimize the distance between each training data and the estimates in a multidimensional Euclidean space. It provides a robustness for the outliers as well. In this paper, we examine the least distance estimation method in multivariate linear regression analysis, and furthermore, we present the penalized least distance estimator (PLDE) for efficient variable selection. The LDE technique applied with the adaptive group LASSO penalty term (AGLDE) is proposed in this study which can reflect the correlation between response variables in the model and can efficiently select variables according to the importance of explanatory variables. The validity of the proposed method was confirmed through simulations and real data analysis.

  • 음악에서 동기는 독립성을 지니는 최소 단위이며, 저작권 검사의 단위로 이용된다 따라서, 한 음악에서 약간의 변화를 가지고 반복되는 주제선율을 추출하거나, 다른 음악간의 유사도를 측정하는데 유사도 계산은 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 비교되는 동기의 선율정보를 음 길이와 음높이가 함께 고려되는 시계열 데이타로 변환하고, cosine measure를 이용하여 동기간의 유사도를 계산한다. 시계열 데이타에서 유사도 계산으로 사용되는 유클리드 거리함수 대신 cosine measure를 이용한 경우, 공간상의 거리 합대신 변화 방향이 반영됨으로써 비교되는 동기간의 유사도를 정확하게 계산한다. 본 논문에서 제안된 동기간의 유사도 계산은 내용 기반 음악 검색에서 색인으로 사용되는 주제선율을 추출하거나, 다른 음악의 동기간의 유사성을 비교하는데 이용될 수 있다.

  • 본 논문에서는 L$_1$평면상에 도로망이 주어져 있어서 여행자들이 그 도로들을 이용하여 더욱 빠르게 이동할 수 있는 가정 하에서 가장 기초적인 기하문제 중에 하나인 두 점 사이의 최단 경로를 찾는 문제를 다룬다. 이 때, 두 점 사이의 거리는 L$_1$ 거리가 아닌 주어진 도로들을 이용하여 두 점 사이를 이동할 때 필요한 최소시간으로 측정한다. 단순한 평면상에서의 최단경로와는 달리 도로망이 설치되어 있는 경우는 그것을 해결하기가 일반적으로 쉽지 않다. 본 논문에서는 도로망이 있는 평면에 대한 깊은 관찰과 이해를 통해 도로망이 설치되어 있는 L$_1$ 평면상에서의 최단경로 문제를 해결하는 효율적인 알고리즘을 제시한다. 덧붙여, 본 논문에서 제시하는 문제 해결 방법은 L$_1$ 평면뿐만 아니라 유클리드 평면에도 어렵지 않게 적용할 수 있으며 보로노이 다이어그램으로의 일반화도 간단하다.

  • In this Paper, we Present a nonharmonic may geometry design method using Euclidan minimum distance function in difference Phase spaces for 2-D (azimuth/elevation) multiple baseline antenna may which has a way to reduce the number of sensor antennas while maintaining accurate DOA estimate. The major advantages of our approach is that even the shortest interelement spacing can be larger than half-wavelength and is not limit13d to linear and it can be applied successfully to any array configuration. In multiple signals impinging situation, the performance simulation results of superresolution algorithms shows the effectiveness of the proposed method. Also the 2-D asymmetric may using the Proposed method is designed and the Performance of the manufactured away through the experimental test is verified.
