Study of Multi Floor Plant Layout Optimization Based on Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO 최적화 기법을 이용한 다층 구조의 플랜트 배치에 관한 연구)

  • In the fields of researches associated with plant layout optimization, the main goal is to minimize the costs of pipelines for connecting equipment. However, what is the lacking of considerations in previous researches is to handle the multi floor processes considering the safety distances for domino impacts on a complex plant. The mathematical programming formulation can be transformed into MILP (Mixed Integer Linear Programming) problems as considering safety distances, maintenance spaces, and economic benefits for solving the multi-floor plant layout problem. The objective function of this problem is to minimize piping costs connecting facilities in the process. However, it is really hard to solve this problem due to complex unequality or equality constraints such as sufficient spaces for the maintenance and passages, meaning that there are many conditional statements in the objective function. Thus, it is impossible to solve this problem with conventional optimization solvers using the derivatives of objective function. In this study, the PSO (Particle Swarm Optimization) technique, which is one of the representative sampling approaches, is employed to find the optimal solution considering various constraints. The EO (Ethylene Oxide) plant is illustrated to verify the efficacy of the proposed method.

  • 차량의 제동장치는 제동시 차량의 조향안정성을 유지하면서 최소한의 제동거리를 확보하는 장 치라 할 수 있다. 제동시 차량의 조향안정성 유지와 최소제동거리를 확보하기 위해서는 차량의 적절한 제동능력에 필요한 전제동토오크를 전후륜의 제동장치에 적당하게 배분시켜야 한다. 그러나 차량의 각차륜의 하중 상태는 여러 가지 적재상태와 제동시중량이동 등에 따라 변하게 되므로 고정된 제동장치로서는 전후륜의 제동토오크를 가변시킬 수 없어 설계시 빈도가 높은 조건에 맞추어 제동장치의 구성부품을 확정할 수밖에 없다. 차량에 따라서는 축하중상태의 변 화가 큰 경우와 공용화를 위하여 여러 모델의 차량에 동일제동 장치를 적용하려고 할 경우에 문제점이 따르기 마련이다. 본고에서는 제동장치의 전후륜의 제동토오크 배분에 대하여 고찰하여 설계개념을 파악하고자 한다.

An Estimation of the Minimum Distance Between a Roundabout and Signal Crosswalk Using VISSIM (VISSIM분석을 통한 회전교차로 인접 신호횡단보도의 최소이격거리 산정)

  • Since the application of roundabouts by 2010 have been started, more than 350 roundabouts were installed in Korea. Recently the types of constructed roundabouts become various, and the intersection conditions for installing roundabouts were also various. However, there were some difficulties to install roundabouts around school zone due to safety problems. In this study, appropriate distance from adjacent signal crosswalks to roundabouts were estimated for securing pedestrian safety and operation efficiency around school zone. With the analyses, the minimum distance standard was suggested to obtain operational effectiveness of roundabout according to traffic volume, traffic flow, pedestrian green time and secures pedestrian safety and convenience. In this paper, average delay of roundabout as various length of distances between an adjacent crosswalk and a roundabout as different pedestrian signal times, traffic volumes, traffic flow rates were analyzed. Through this study, it was found that about four times of delay in a roundabout was generated if there was adjacent signal crosswalk. However if there is enough distance between an adjacent crosswalk and a roundabout, the value of increasing delay on roundabouts with adjacent a signalized crosswalk can be considerably reduced. Critical value of the distance between a roundabout and a signal crosswalk in case of roundabouts within 200-500 vehicle/hour/lane entry traffic flow, 20-40% of left turn traffic, and over 15 seconds pedestrian green time was about 50 meters. In conclusion, if there is minimum 40 meter distance from roundabouts, adjacent signal crosswalks can be installed and operated for students' safety around school zone.

A study on the northern sea route safety convoy using ship handling simulation (선박조종시뮬레이션을 이용한 북극해 안전 호송에 관한 연구)

  • Due to global warming it is estimated that the arctic ocean route will be avaliable and traffic will increase by approximately year 2030. However, most navigation in the arctic is based on the ice breaker captains'orders, there is no exact measurement of convoy speed and distance between ships. So, this research was conducted to find out the minimum safe separation distance and minimum breaking distance via ship controling simulations, and the results are as stated. For breaking distances, for ships that have a lead distance which is 2~4 times the width of the ship and traveling less than 7 knots, crash astern and crash astern & hard rudder showed no significant difference. But ships traveling at 10 knots there was a decrease in breaking distance of 1L, from 3.5L to 2.5L. By analyzing 10 subject ships by crash astern the breaking distance for 5 knots is 0.98L~1.8L, for 8 knots is 1.9L~4.0L. The minimum safe separation distance in narrow sea-ways is 6L, but as the arctic sea-way is only one-way 3L is required. As the result, it is found that in the arctic the safe escort speed is less than 5 knots, if the escort speed is 8knots or more and by using crash astern & hard rudder to break the safe distance should be kept at 3.4L.

Current Distribution and Effective Resistance in the Rail of a Distributed-type Railgun (분포형 레일건 레일에서의 전류분포 및 실효저항)

  • Distributed-type railguns are designed to maintain the armature current and the length between the armature and the current-feed region nearly constant with time. This paper deals with factors affecting current distribution, effective resistance and effective skin depth in the rail of a distributed-type railgun. Analytical solutions for the current distributions and resistance in the rail are presented for a simple two-dimensional model under steady-state contions. For diffusion limited current, it is found that effective rail resistance is proportional to the square root of the relative velocity, the permeability of the rail and the length between the armature and that effective skin depth of the rail is proportional to the square root of the length and inversely proportional to the square root of the permeability, the conductivity and the velocity.

  • 대부분의 이동 로봇은 효율적인 경로계획을 위하여 최단거리 및 최소비용을 갖는 경로를 선택한다. 그러나 다수의 로봇이 존재하는 환경에서는 이웃하는 로봇 상호간에 동적 장애물로 인식되어 주행성능을 떨어뜨리게 된다. 또한 트래픽량이 거의 없는 환경에서는 무선 통신의 전송거리 제한으로 이동 로봇간 네트워킹이 원활하게 수행될 수 없는 문제도 있다. 따라서 적당한 거리의 이웃 로봇들과 협업을 위한 네트워킹을 하면서 동적인 경로계획 및 주행을 하는 것이 필수적이다. 본 논문에서는 기존의 A* 알고리즘을 수정하여 로봇의 동적인 트래픽을 고려한 경로계획 알고리즘을 제안한다. 제안된 기법을 이용하여 경로설정과정에서의 로봇 상호간 병목현상을 완화시키며, 일관된 협업 통신도 유지할 수 있다. 모의 실험을 통하여 제안된 알고리즘이 동적인 트래픽을 고려하여 경로를 선택함을 보인다.

A Method on the Improvement of the Minimum Detection Distance of the Remote Measurement Level Meter (원격 측정 레벨계의 최소 탐지거리 성능 개선 방법)

  • Recently, level meters have been associated with the safety and maintenance of industrial sites and require a wide measurement range. Generally, to ensure the measurement range of the level meter, the measurement environment is improved to reduce the noise or to compensate the distortion of the signal through signal processing. The noise of FMCW (Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave) radar level meter or the distortion of the signal affects the near region characteristics of the level gauge, resulting in a reduction of the minimum detection distance. In this paper, an equalizer filter considering characteristics of window function and bit spectrum is applied to remove the noise in the near region of the level meter to improve the minimum detection distance performance and to improve the measurement reliability in the vicinity of the level meter, which is relatively difficult to detect, we want to improve the detection range.

  • We numerically investigate a stable propagation regime of soliton pulse trains in fibers with periodically copensated loss by lumped optical amplifiers. When amplification solition pulses is 1.2~1.5 and the minimum soliton separation normalized by the soliton width becomes about 6. In cases of L=50[km], the allowable range of A is 1.5~1.7 under =6. The maximum allowable variation of the loss compensation in each lumped amplifier becomes +-2% of the fiber loss when L=50[km], A=1.6, and =6. Generally, the allowable rages of the soliton amplitude A and amplifier gain are inversely proportional to the amplification period L.

Study of the Smoke Control Characteristics for Fire Near Jet Fans (Jet fan 근접 화재 발생 시 제연 특성 연구)

  • In this research, we conducted a PIV-visualization experiment to smoke control from fires by using a neighboring Jet fan at minimum distance. We also compared our experiment results with FDS numerical analysis ones. As a result of quantitative data analysis of smoke control modes against fires in tunnel, we concluded that a neighboring Jet fan should be placed at least 25 m away from its fire source in order to produce satisfactory smoke control results. Jet fan showed the best smoke-controlling performance, if placed 50 m away from its fire source. It tended to show an overspeed around the center of tunnel when it is placed more than 75 away from its fire source.

  • In this Paper, we Present a nonharmonic may geometry design method using Euclidan minimum distance function in difference Phase spaces for 2-D (azimuth/elevation) multiple baseline antenna may which has a way to reduce the number of sensor antennas while maintaining accurate DOA estimate. The major advantages of our approach is that even the shortest interelement spacing can be larger than half-wavelength and is not limit13d to linear and it can be applied successfully to any array configuration. In multiple signals impinging situation, the performance simulation results of superresolution algorithms shows the effectiveness of the proposed method. Also the 2-D asymmetric may using the Proposed method is designed and the Performance of the manufactured away through the experimental test is verified.
