  • In navigation system, a primary task is to compute the minimum cost route from the current location to the destination. One of major problems for navigation systems is that a significant amount of computation time is required when the digital road map is large. Since navigation systems are real time systems, it is critical that the path be computed while satisfying a time constraint. In this paper, we have developed a HiTi(Hierarchical MulTi) graph model for hierarchically structuring large digital road maps to speedup the minimum cost path computation. We propose a new shortest path algorithm named SPAH, which utilizes HiTi graph model of a digital road map for its computation. We prove that the shortest path computed by SPAH is the optimal. Our performance analysis of SPAH also showed that it significantly reduces the computation time over exiting methods. We present an in-depth experimental analysis of HiTi graph method by comparing it with other similar works.

  • 본 연구에서 다루고자 하는 문제는 서비스시간 제약을 갖는 도시부 복합교통망에서의 기종점을 잇는 합리적인 최단경로를 탐색하고자 하는 것이다. 서비스시간 제약은 도시부 복합교통망에서의 현실성을 보다 더 사실적으로 표현하지만 기존의 알고리즘들은 이를 고려하지 않고 있다. 서비스시간 제약은 환승역에서 여행자가 환승차량을 이용해서 다른 지점으로 여행할 수 있는 출발시간이 미리 계획된 차량운행시간들에 의해 제한되어지는 것이다. 환승역에 도착한 여행자는 환승차량의 정해진 운행시간에서만 환승차량을 이용해서 다른 지점으로 여행할 수 있다. 따라서 서비스시간 제약이 고려되어지는 경우 총소요시간에는 여행시간과 환승대기시간이 포함되어지고, 환승대기시간은 여행자가 환승역에 도착한 시간과 환승차량의 출발이 허용되어지는 시간에 의존해서 변한다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제를 해결할 수 있는 링크기반의 최단경로탐색 알고리즘을 개발하였다. Dijkstra 알고리즘과 같은 전통적인 탐색법에서는 각 노드까지의 최단도착시간을 계산하여 각 노드에 표지로 설정하지만 제안된 알고리즘에서는 각 링크가지의 최단도착시간과 각 링크에서의 가장 빠른 출발시간을 계산하여 각 링크의 표지로 설정한다. 제안된 알고리즘의 자세한 탐색과정이 간단한 복합교통망에 대하여 예시되어진다.

  • 최근 ITS(Intelligent Transportation Systems)의 개발과 함께 차량용 내비게이션의 사용이 급증하면서 경로탐색의 중요성이 더욱 가속화되고 있다. 현재 차량용 내비게이션은 멀티미디어 및 정보통신 기술의 결합과 함께 다양한 기능 및 정보를 사용자에게 제공하고 있으며 이러한 기능과 정보를 사용해서 목적지점까지의 최단경로를 탐색하는 것이 내비게이션 시스템의 핵심기능이다. 이러한 경로탐색 알고리즘은 교통시스템, 통신 네트워크, 운송 시스템은 물론 이동 로봇의 경로 설정 등 다양한 분야에 사용되고 있다. 개미 집단 최적화(Ant Colony Optimization, ACO) 알고리즘은 메타 휴리스틱 탐색 방법으로 그리디 탐색(Greedy Search)뿐만 아니라 긍정적 반응의 탐색을 사용한 모집단에 근거한 접근법으로 순환 판매원 문제(Traveling Salesman Problem, TSP)를 풀기 위해 처음으로 제안되었다. 본 논문에서는 개미 집단 최적화(ACO) 알고리즘이 기존의 경로 탐색 알고리즘으로 알려진 Dijkstra 보다 최단경로 탐색에 있어서 더 적합한 알고리즘이라는 것을 설명하고자 한다.

  • 본 논문은 Dijkstra 알고리즘에 기초한 최단거리 경로계획을 하며 이 경로를 추적하기 위한 슬라이딩 모드 제어를 제시한다. 슬라이딩 모드 제어기는 동적매개변수 불확실성과 입력외란이 존재 시에도 강인 점근적으로 계획된 경로를 추적하도록 한다. 더불어 작업장 내의 이동로봇의 위치를 USB 카메라에 의해 감지하며, Pin-hole 카메라모델로 하여 카메라에 의해 관측되는 작업장 내의 이륜구동로봇의 위치좌표를 결정하였으며, 이 위치를 정확히 감지하기 위해 Tsai법을 사용하여 카메라 보정한다. 시뮬레이션 결과는 슬라이딩 모드 제어기의 성능을 검증하기 위해 보였다.

  • This paper discusses the problem of finding the Origin-Destination(O-D) shortest path in urban road networks that have variable special qualifies such as time windows for passing as well as geometrical special qualities such as U-turn and left-turn prohibition. The focus of this paper is motivated by the problem of finding minimum travel time paths for an advanced traveler information system (ATIS) in the context of intelligent transportation system(ITS) application. The transportation network with variable and geometrical special qualities is a more realistic representation of the urban road network in the real word. But, the traditional and existing shortest path algorithms can not search practical shortest path that variable special quality is reflected. This paper presents a shortest path algorithm which can search reasonable shortest path information for the urban ATIS application within a real time. The algorithm is based on genetic algorithm(GA). The high performance of the proposed algorithm is demonstrated by computer simulations.

Development of One-to-One Shortest Path Algorithm Based on Link Flow Speeds on Urban Networks (도시부 가로망에서의 링크 통행속도 기반 One-to-One 최단시간 경로탐색 알고리즘 개발)

  • Finding shortest paths on time dependent networks is an important task for scheduling and routing plan and real-time navigation system in ITS. In this research, one-to-one time dependent shortest path algorithms based on link flow speeds on urban networks are proposed. For this work, first we select three general shortest path algorithms such as Graph growth algorithm with two queues, Dijkstra's algorithm with approximate buckets and Dijkstra's algorithm with double buckets. These algorithms were developed to compute shortest distance paths from one node to all nodes in a network and have proven to be fast and efficient algorithms in real networks. These algorithms are extended to compute a time dependent shortest path from an origin node to a destination node in real urban networks. Three extended algorithms are implemented on a data set from real urban networks to test and evaluate three algorithms. A data set consists of 4 urban street networks for Anaheim, CA, Baltimore, MD, Chicago, IL, and Philadelphia, PA. Based on the computational results, among the three algorithms for TDSP, the extended Dijkstra's algorithm with double buckets is recommended to solve one-to-one time dependent shortest path for urban street networks.

Route Optimization for Emergency Evacuation and Response in Disaster Area (재난지역에서의 대피·대응 동시수행을 위한 다중목적 긴급대피경로 최적화)

  • Lately, losses and damage from natural disasters have been increasing. Researchers across various fields in Korea are trying to come up with a response plan, but research for evacuation plans is still far from satisfactory. Hence this paper proposes a model that could find an optimized evacuation route for when disasters occur over wide areas. Development of the model used methods including the Dijkstra shortest path algorithm, feasible path method, genetic algorithm, and pareto efficiency. Computations used parallel computing (SPMD) for high performance. In addition, the developed model is applied to a virtual network to check the validity. Finally the adaptability of the model is verified on a real network by computating for Gumi 1stNational Industrial Complex. Computation results proved that this model is valid and applicable by comparison of the fitness values for before optimization and after optimization. This research can contribute to routing for responder vehicles as well as planning for evacuation by objective when disasters occur.

A Hybrid Search Method of A* and Dijkstra Algorithms to Find Minimal Path Lengths for Navigation Route Planning (내비게이션 경로설정에서 최단거리경로 탐색을 위한 A*와 Dijkstra 알고리즘의 하이브리드 검색법)

  • In navigation route planning systems using A* algorithms, the cardinality of an Open list, which is a list of candidate nodes through which a terminal node can be accessed, increases as the path length increases. In this paper, a method of alternately utilizing the Dijkstra's algorithm and the A* algorithm to reduce the cardinality of the Open list is investigated. In particular, by employing a depth parameter, named Level, the two algorithms are alternately performed depending on the Level's value. Using the hybrid searching approach, the Open list constructed in the Dijkstra's algorithm is transferred into the Open list of the A* algorithm, and consequently, the unconstricted increase of the cardinality of the Open list of the former algorithm can be avoided and controlled appropriately. In addition, an optimal or nearly optimal path similar to the Dijkstra's route, but not available in the A* algorithm, can be found. The experimental results, obtained with synthetic and real-life benchmark data, demonstrate that the computational cost, measured with the number of nodes to be compared, was remarkably reduced compared to the traditional searching algorithms, while maintaining the similar distance to those of the latter algorithms. Here, the values of Level were empirically selected. Thus, a study on finding the optimal Level values, while taking into consideration the actual road conditions remains open.

The Design of Secret Multi-Paths on MRNS(Mixed Radix Numbers System) Network for Secure Transmission (안전한 전송을 위한 MRNS(Mixed Radix Number System)네트워크에서의 비밀 다중 경로의 설계)

  • Routing security is the confidentiality of route taken by the data transmitted over communication networks. If the route is detected by an adversary, the probability is high that the data lost or the data can be intercepted by the adversary. Therefore, the route must be protected. To accomplish this, we select an intermediate node secretly and transmit the data using this intermediate node, instead of sending the data to a destination node using the shortest direct path. Furthermore, if we use a number of secret routes from a node to a destination node, data security is much stronger since we can transmit partial data rather than entire data along a secret route. Finally, the idea above is implemented on MRNS Network.
