Comparison of Removal Efficiencies in Single and Duplex Ventilation Constructed Wetland Systems for Treating Domestic Sewage (단일 통풍형과 이중 통풍형 인공습지시스템의 하수처리 효율 비교)

  • To develop environmentally friendly constructed wetlands(CWs) for treating domestic sewage which was produced in farming and fishing village, the efficiency of water treatment at different ventilation systems in the vertical bed, depths of horizontal bed, and sewage loads was investigated. In the vertical bed, BOD and COD by duplex ventilation system were lower than those by single ventilation system. But T-N and T-P concentrations by both ventilation systems in the vertical bed were little different. In the horizontal bed, BOD, COD, T-N and T-P in 1.0 m and 1.3 m depths were little different. To reduce the CWs' area and to improve the pollutant removal efficiencies, the optimum depth of horizontal bed was 1.3 m. In single and duplex ventilation CWs, the removal rate of BOD, COD, SS, T-N and T-P decreased slightly with the sewage load increases. In same sewage load conditions, the removal rates of BOD, COD, SS, T-N and T-P by duplex ventilation CWs were higher than those by single ventilation CWs. In summary, to effectively treat domestic sewage from farming and fishing village, the optimum constructed wetlands would be the duplex ventilation CWs.

  • The IT industry has made rapid development and also had an economic impact on other industries Also, since the fourth industrial revolution has begun in recent years ago, so The convergence between IT and other industries is increasing. Therefore, the development of the IT industry will enhance the international competitiveness It will also have a major impact on the nation's economic growth. Therefore, IT firms should be more efficient in their production. so This paper analyzes the efficiency of High-growth IT firms using DEA model. We evaluate the CCR, BBC efficiency and RTS(return to scale) of 12 IT firms. As a result, there were 6 companies with BCC efficiency 1 and 4 companies with 1 CCR efficiency. The scale of profitability was analyzed by IRS as 7 companies and CRS as 5 companies. We also suggest the IT firms which can be benchmarked based on analyzed information. It is expected to provide investors and external stakeholders with very useful information on managerial management efficiency.

  • 본 논문은 역률과 고조파 규제를 만족하는 새로운 형태의 수동형 LED 구동회로를 제시한다. 제안된 수동형 LED 구동회로는 능동형(SMPS 방식) LED 구동회로에 비하여 초장수명과 고효율 특성을 가진다. 특히 능동형 LED 구동회로 내부의 능동소자(스윗칭 소자)로 인한 짧은 수명 및 효율 감소를 수동소자만을 사용하여 효과적으로 해결하여, 역률은 0.98, 입력전류의 총 고조파 왜율은 16%, LED 드라이버의 효율은 95% 이상임을 확인하였다. 본 논문에서는 제안된 수동형 LED 구동회로의 설계 과정을 소개하며, 이론과 실험을 통해 그 우수성을 입증하였다.

Port Export and Efficiency of the Regional Economy in Korea (항만수출과 지역경제의 효율성)

  • DEA converts multiple inputs and outputs of a decision unit into a single measure of performance, generally mentioned as relative efficiency. DEA has been applied successfully as a performance evaluation tool in many fields including manufacturing, banks, pharmacies, and hospitals to name a few. This paper applies the input-oriented DEA model, DEA/Window analysis, and Malmquist indices to the 9 regions in Korea to measure the efficiency and productivity. The empirical results show the following findings. First, the super efficiency indicate that efficiency of Group 2 is greater than Group 1. Second, Malmquist indices show that productivity of Group 2 is less than Group 1. Third, DEA/Window of Group2 show that Chungnam is most stable, while Jeonnam is most unstable.

  • 열건조식 음식물쓰레기 처리기에서 발생하는 VOC의 분해효율을 향상시키기 위하여 생물여과기를 이용하여 실험하였다. 현장 생물여과기에서 배출되는 휘발성 물질은 총 50여 가지 물질이 검출되었다. 주요 악취 유발물질은 isoprene, dimethyl sulfide (DMS), dimethyl disulfide (DMDS), limonene 등으로 파악되었다. 칼럼 반응기를 이용한 휘발성 물질 분해는 20일 정도의 적응기 후 제거되었으며, 제거 효율은 90% 이상으로 나타났다.

Permeation Efficiency of Sea Tangle (Laminaria japonica) Extract into Egg Using Temperature Change Method and Pressure (온도 변화 방법과 압력을 이용한 계란 내부로 다시마 추출물의 침투 효율)

  • In this study, the permeation efficiency (PE) of sea tangle (Laminaria japonica) extract (STE) into egg using the temperature change method (TCM) and pressure was investigated. STE was prepared in a volume of water equal to 10 times the weight of the sea tangle at $100^{\circ}C$ over a 3 hr period. The PE of iodine as a representative component of the STE as well as the total polyphenol content at ambient pressure were determined as follows: 1) after soaking in the STE at 30, 40, and $50^{\circ}C$ for 3 hr, and 2) after soaking in the STE at $4^{\circ}C$ immediately after soaking in distilled water at $50^{\circ}C$ for 1, 2, and 3 hr (TCM), respectively. The PE of iodine as well as the total polyphenol content improved as the temperature of the STE increased (P<0.05). The permeation of iodine was more rapid, and the total polyphenol content increased with the TCM (121 ${\mu}g/100$ mg and 1.74 mg/mL for 3 hr, respectively) compared to without the TCM (72 ${\mu}g/100$ mg and 1.48 mg/mL for 3 hr, respectively), and the highest PE was observed with the TCM after soaking at $50^{\circ}C$ for 3 hr. At a pressure of 5.0 MPa, the PE was more rapid with the TCM (139 ${\mu}g/100$ mg and 1.74 mg/mL for 90 min, respectively) than without the TCM (105 ${\mu}g/100$ mg and 1.56 mg/mL for 90 min, respectively). Consequentially, these results suggest that the preparation of seasonings and functional eggs using various components and bioactive substances is possible by the TCM.

Missing Value Imputation Method Using CART : For Marital Status in the Population and Housing Census (CART를 활용한 결측값 대체방법 : 인구주택총조사 혼인상태 항목을 중심으로)

  • We proposed imputation strategies for marital status in the Population and Housing Census 2000 in Korea to illustrate the effective missing value imputation methods for social survey. The marital status which have relatively high non-response rates in the Census are considered to develope the effective missing value imputation procedures. The Classification and Regression Tree(CART)is employed to construct the imputation cells for hot-deck imputation, as well as to predict the missing value by model-based approach. We compare to imputation methods which include the CART model-based imputation and the sequential hot-deck imputation based on CART. Also we check whether different modeling for each region provides the more improved results. The results suggest that the proposed hot-deck imputation based on CART is very efficient and strongly recommendable. And the results show that different modeling for each region is not necessary.

Efficiency Analysis of Port Considering Congestion (체선을 고려한 항만의 효율성 분석에 관한 연구)

  • This study fist raises the following research question. How does the port congestion affect port operational efficiency? To answer the question, this study adopts slacks based measure data envelopment analysis (SBM-DEA) model to analyze the efficiency of port considering the congestion. As a result of the DEA-CCR(Chanres, Cooper and Rhodes) model, both Busan(2011) and Ulsan(2011) are the most efficient decision making units(DMUs). As a result of the DEA-BCC(Banker, Chanrnes, and Cooper) model, Busan(2011), Ulsan(2011), Ulsan(2012), Busan(2012), and Yeosu Gwangyang(2012) are the most efficient DMUs. As a result of SBM-DEA model, Ulsan(2012), Busan(2011), Busan(2012), Incheon(2011), and Ulsan(2011) are the most efficient DMUs considering the port congestion. The result of DEA-CCR BCC model is not identical with the result of SBM-DEA model analysis. It means the port congestion does less affect the port operational efficiency. Should the number of the vessels with the port congestion minimize, Incheon and Yeosu Gwangyang port could save lots of the port congestion cost for a total of three years.
