초전도한류기에 적용하는 YBCO 박막형 선재의 반복적 과전류 특성 (Repetitive Over-current Characteristics of YBCO Coated Conductor for Applying to SFCL)

  • In recent years. YBCO coated conductor (CC) called as second generation HTS (high temperature superconducting) wire has been developed as a suitable material for resistive superconducting fault current limiter (SFCL). For designing the SFCL. the required length of superconducting wire is inverse proportional to the maximum temperature reached when a fault occurs. Since the required length strongly affects a manufacturing cost, it is the most important parameter to determine the maximum temperature reached. It is necessary to observe the repetitive over-current characteristics of HTS wire. This paper attempts to measure the variation of critical current of YBCO CC after repetitive over-current pulse. No degradation of the critical current of CC sample was observed by applying 100 times over-current pulse which makes temperature above 400 K after 100ms. This study can be useful in designing optimally resistive SFCL employing YBCO CC. The maximum permissible temperature can be set to 400K. so wire length could be reduced by 30% compared in case of 300K-criterion.

  • We investigated resistance development in Au/YBCO thin film meander lines during quench. The meander lines were fabricated by coating YBCO films insitu with a gold layer and patterning them by photolithography. The center stripe quenched fastest even though the flux flow resistance that appeared upon the current passing the critical current was uniform. Quench started at an area of the center stripe and propagate both through the gold layer and the sapphire substrate. Quench propagation speed was uniform and 60 cm/s at 30 V$_{rms}$.

  • Hg-1223 박막에서의 비저항(${\rho}$)을 임계온도 근처에서 은도와 자기장의 세기의 변화에 따라 측정하였다. 전도도(${\sigma}$)의 임계요동 부분은 3차원-XY 모델과 일치하는 임계현상을 보였다. 동적임계지수 z값은 1.5${\pm}$0.1로써 YBCO에서와 같았다. 정적임계지수 v값은 1.19${\pm}$0.3으로 YBCO에서보다 더 컸으며, 이것은 Hg-1223의 c축을 따라 층간의 약한결합 정도가 z값에는 영향을 미치지 않고, v값을 크게 증가시키는 것을 보여준다.

  • We have fabricated YBCO/STO/YBCO multilayer by the pulsed laser deposition method varing the deposition condition of insulating STO layer. Superconducting properties of both YBCO layers are sensitively affected by the deposition condition of STO layer. We obtained the upper YBCO layer of T$_{c(zero)}\;{\sim}\;$90 K with a good reproducibility, however, T$_{c(zero)}$ of lower YBCO layer was decreased to about 80 K maybe due to the oxygen loss during the deposition of STO layer. Superconducting properties of both YBCO layers at every fabrication step were measured in order to study the reason for the deterioration of superconducting properties.

MOD 공정에 의해 제조된 YBCO 박막의 압력 의존성 (Total pressure dependence of YBCO films in MOD method)

  • The growth properties of MOD-YBCO films were investigated. To enhance the growth rate of YBCO layer and inhibit the build-up of HF gas during the annealing process in TFA-MOD for YBCO coated conductors the method of low pressure annealing was employed. Total pressure was changed from 700Torr to 1Torr and its effect on growth of YBCO films was compared with atmospheric one. The lower Pressure was effective to control of the pore size in MOD method . Surface morphology of YBCO films processed at low total pres sure was rough and composed of random YBCO (103) grains. But large pores, usually observed at atmospheric process in MOD disappeared and also the number of pores was reduced at low pressure annealing. Also discussed ate the effects of Fluorine-free Y and Cu precursor solution on the development of microstructure. Dense surface me phology and with less and small pores can be provided through controlling Fluorine content.

  • The goal of the research is to study and describe a new stressed state of High Temperature Superconducting (High-T$_{c}$) YBCO Films, to create of SQUIDs (Superconducting Quantum Interference Device) on the bases of these films with maximal sensitivity. With the experimental investigation of the stressed films grown by laser ablation method and its properties, the fabrication of the dc-SQUIDs with maximal sensitivity on the bases of the stressed YBCO films were carried out. The stressed film having the value of the critical current density J$_{c}$=3ㆍ$10^{5}$A/$\textrm{cm}^2$ was the more stable than others.ers.s.

  • 본 연구에서는 STO(100) 기판 위에 PLD법으로 YBCO 박막을 제작할 때, YBCO 상과 outgrowth의 형성과정과 구조 등을 관찰하였다. 증착의 각 과정별로 박막의 표면 및 단면을 AFM과 SEM으로 관찰한 결과, YBCO 상은 작은 씨앗에서부터 계속 성장해 가며, YBCO 상은 구조를 약 한층 정도 형성하는 불과 10 ${AA}$ 정도만 증착되어도 YBCO의 XRD 피크를 보인다. 반면에 생성되며, YBCO처럼 작은 씨앗에서 서서히 성장해 가는 것은 아니라고 생각된다.

  • YBa$_2$Cu$_3$$O_{7-x}$ (YBCO) films were deposited on MgO(100) and SrTiO$_3$(100) single crystal substrates by cold-wall type MOCVD method using continuous source supplying system. Under the deposition temperature of 740∼76$0^{\circ}C$, c-axis oriented YBCO films were obtained. In case of the YBCO films deposited on MgO (100) single crystal substrate, the critical temperature (T$_{c}$) was under 81 K regardless of the deposition conditions, whereas T$_{c}$ of the YBCO films deposited on SrTiO$_3$(100) single crystal substrate was 83∼84 K. The critical current (I$_{c}$) of the YBCO film deposited on SrTiO$_3$(100) single crystal substrate for 30 min was 49 A/cm-width and the critical current density (J$_{c}$) was 0.82 MA/$\textrm{cm}^2$ to film thickness of 0.6 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$. I$_{c}$ increased to 84.4 A/cm-width as the deposition time increased to 50 min, but J$_{c}$ decreased to 0.53 MA/$\textrm{cm}^2$ to film thickness of 1.8 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$.rm}{m}$.

YBCO 박막을 이용한 초전도 한류기의 안정적인 동작조건 (Stabilized Operating Conditions of Superconducting Fault Current Limiter using YBCO Thin Film)

  • We fabricated resistive superconducting fault current limiters (SFCL) based on YBCO thin films grown on a 2-inch diameter Al2O3 substrate. The current limiting element was 1 mm wide and 260mm long meander line prepared by standard photolithography. The minimum quench current of the current limiting element was about 8 Apeak. This SFCL sucessfully controlled the fault current below 14.3 Apeak at the voltage of 100 Apeak which is otherwise to increase up to 141 Apeak. The quench completion time was less than 3 msec. The temperature of the current limiting element rose to about 200 K in 3 cycles after fault. The SFCL showed reproducible quench during hundreds times of repeated experiments.
