Statistical Analysis of Marine Accidents by ANOVA (ANOVA에 의한 해양사고의 통계분석)

  • Marine accidents are increasing as time goes on, in spite of lots of efforts are given. Marine accidents can be classified 3 categories those are ship's condition, navigator's condition and weather condition. In this paper, statistical analysis were carried using marine accidents data from 1997 to 2006. In order to analyze accident rate by time zone, ship's speed and finding distant, SPSS variance analysis was carried out. Results are followed. There was significant difference between time zone 20${\sim}$04 hours and other time zones. The accident rate in daytime was bigger than that at night. In case of the speed at collision, the speed of 5${\sim}$10 knot has significant difference to other speed cases. In finding distant cases, the case of less than 1 mile has significant difference to other distant cases.

  • 실습생 및 초급항해사에게 항해 중 가장 기본적으로 요구되는 충돌회피를 위한 선박조종 실습은 법적 책임 및 타 선박과의 불규칙한 조우로 인하여 직접적인 충돌회피 조종 실습이 곤란할 뿐만 아니라 타 선박과의 조우 상황 자체가 극히 제한되어 있는 실정이다. 이에 이 연구는 한국해양대학교 실습선 한나라호의 2007년 원양항해 중 타 선박과의 조우형태를 조사하여 해양계열 대학 실습생 및 초급 항해사에게 실제 해역에서 발생할 수 있는 조우상황별 위험도를 분석하여 이를 기초로 하여 충돌회피를 위한 효율적인 판단 능력 향상을 위한 기초 실습교육 자료를 개발하고자 한다. 그리고 추후에는 이러한 자료를 선박조종시뮬레이터에 적용하여 임의의 조우 상황하에서 안전한 선박조종이 가능하도록 교육 훈련함으로써 보다 효율적인 실습교육에 이바지 할 것으로 판단된다.

Ship Collision Avoidance Support Model in Close Quarters Situation(I) (근접상황 선박충돌회피지원모델에 관한 연구(I))

  • Up to now a lot of the study on ship collision avoidance systems has proceeded actively. However the frequency of ship collision accidents didn't decreased. If there is collision risk in close quarters situation none the less manouvering ship for collision avoidance according to the system, only use of TCPA and DCPA as input factor for collision risk decision is not useful to avoiding collision action. For the recent 5 years by the analysis of first observation distance about approaching ship in domestic collision accidents, nearly $45\%$ of accidents is close first observation less than 2 miles. Therefor it is essential part for safety navigations to study for collision avoidance action in close encounter. In this paper, as foundation study of supporting collision avoidance manoeuvring for navigators, we proposed ship collision avoidance support model in close quarters situation through analysis of collision accidents for effective getting rid of the causes.

  • Traditional rotation type large beacon was characterized by frequent failure, long repair time and high cost etc. These problems are caused by traditional light sources(metal halide lamps or tungsten halogen lamps). In order to solve these problems, IALA standards-based(efficiency and reliability) large LED beacon technologies are needed. we developed by applying a LED. The object of the this project, to design a reflective optics and the high power LED lighting engine module. And to develop a rotational speed control system for controlling flash pattern of beacon. As a result, to develop of LED beacon for landfall mark that distance to reach the light 20NM to 27NM.

  • 본 연구에서는 우리나라 전역에 군락으로 서식하는 상록 다년초인 맥문동을 이용한 현장 실험을 실시하여 지표화 방지 및 확산속도 저지를 위한 산불 이격거리를 제시하고자 삼척시 검봉산 맥문동 식재지에서 식재지 미식재지 총 4종류의 실험구를 설정하고 실험한 결과 맥문동 식재지는 미식재지에 비해 1.1-2.9배 산불확산속도 저지 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났으며, 지표화 발생시 산림내로 확산되기 전 초동진화에 필요한 시간(30분)을 감안하면, 산림인접지 부근의 식재폭은 최소 69m 최대 203m가 필요한 것으로 나타났다.

  • LED 기술의 발달은 LED를 광원으로 하는 기존의 등명기의 광달거리를 현저히 증가 시키게 되었다. 물론 이를 위해서는 발달된 LED광원 뿐만 아니라 이를 집광 시킬 수 있는 렌즈의 개발, 열에 취약한 LED의 방열을 해결 할 수 있는 방열 구조의 개발 등, 전체적인 기술 개발을 동반해야한 한다. 이를 적용한 고광도 등명기는 기존의 배후광이 심한 지역 및 육지초인 표지에 사용할 수 있으며, 이러한 제품의 개발은 국내 제품의 기술력 및 성능을 향상 시키고 이를 바탕으로 해외 시장에 진출할 수 있는 계기를 마련 할 수 있다.

  • In the maritime universities, cadets of deck part should practice on board training using training ships of university or merchant vessels of company for 1 year according to STCW Convention. For training period, trainees are educated many education items as to positioning ability, chart work ability, vessel operation ability and cargo operation ability etc. Among many abilities, vessel avoiding ability which is demanded as a basic ability for deck officer can't be gained easily, because avoiding maneuver of ship controlled by cadets is not allowable regally and encounter situations occur randomly. This paper investigated CPA to the various encounter types with other vessels during the ocean going navigation of T.S Hannara. We analysis danger degree per each encounter type, and proposed a basic material of efficient training education about proper look-out and avoiding maneuver.

How to Determine the Moving Target Exactly Considering Target Size and Respiratory Motion: A Phantom Study (종양의 움직임과 호흡주기에 따른 체적 변화에 대한 연구: 팬텀 Study)

  • Purpose: To accurately define internal target volume (ITV) for treatment of moving target considering tumor size and respiratory motion, we quantitatively investigated volume of target volume delineated on CT images from helical CT and 4D CT scans. Materials and Methods: CT images for a 1D moving phantom with diameters of 1.5, 3, and 6 cm, acryl spheres were acquired using a LightSpeed $RT^{16}CT$ simulator. To analyze effect of tumor motion on target delineation, the CT image of the phantoms with various moving distances of 1~4 cm, and respiratory periods of 3~6 seconds, were acquired. For investigating the accuracy of the target trajectory, volume ratio of the target volumes delineated on CT images to expected volumes calculated with diameters of spherical phantom and moving distance were compared. Results: Ratio$_{helical}$ for the diameter of 1, 5, 3, and 6 cm targets were $32{\pm}14%$, $45{\pm}14%$, and $58{\pm}13%$, respectively, in the all cases. As to 4DCT, RatioMIP were $98{\pm}8%$, $97{\pm}5%$, and $95{\pm}1%$, respectively. Conclusion: The target volumes delineated on MIP images well represented the target trajectory, in comparison to those from helical CT. Target volume delineation on MIP images might be reasonable especially for treatment of early stage lung cancer, with meticulous attention to small size target, large respiratory motion, and fast breathing.
