  • 매일매일 넘쳐나는 방대한 양의 정보와 지식들을 학생들에게 모두 가르치기란 매우 어려운 일일뿐더러 사실 불가능한 일이라 할 수 있다. 따라서, 낱낱의 지식을 알려주기보단 학생이 처한 문제 상황에 능동적으로 대처해 나갈 수 있도록 문제해결력을 신장시켜주는 것이 매우 중요하다. 이러한 문제해결력을 신장시켜주기 위해 프로그래밍 교육은 매우 긍정적인 역할을 하고 있다. 따라서 정보통신기술교육 운영지침의 3단계에 근거하여 초등학교에서 꼭 학습해야할 프로그래밍의 기초 개념이나 규칙 등을 학습할 수 있도록 DiKi 학습프로그램을 설계하여 실험집단에게 적용하였고, 통제집단은 정보생활 교과서를 활용한 정보처리 영역의 프로그래밍 관련 학습을 진행하였다

Content Analysis of the Elementary Science Textbooks in USA. -HBJ Science and Holt Science- (미국 초등과학 교과서 내용분석 -HBJ Science와 Holt Science를 중심으로-)

  • The contents of two elementary science textbooks are analyzed; they are HBJ Science and Holt Science. A) The ratio of the contents is as follows physics area, 21-27% ; chemistry area, 6-7% ; biology area, 32-41% ; earth science area, '27-31 %. B) The jobs related in science and technology are introudced in both textbooks. The kinds of jobs found in Holt Science and HBJ Science are 94 and 55, respectively. C) There cent developments in science and technology are introduced in Holt Science and HBJ Science are 57 and 46 times respectively. The introductoin of the recent development of science & technology and the jobs relcated in science & technology may interest children in science.

  • Rapidly increasing Internet use has brought beneficial developments in many aspects, and it also stimulates elementary students' curiosity and is becoming an important part of entertainment. On the other hand, it is giving rise to some negative results such as violence and delinquent conduct in cyberspace. This study is to find the effects and problems of Information and Communication Ethics education before and after it is carried out by analysing the curriculum of Information texbooks, and to search for new teaching methods for Information and Communication Ethics education.

  • Korean students are taught area formulas of parallelogram and triangle by inductive reasoning in current curriculum. Inductive thinking is a crucial goal in mathematics education. There are, however, many problems to understand area formula inductively. In this study, those problems are illuminated theoretically and investigated in the class of 5th graders. One way to teach area formulas is suggested by means of process of problem solving with transforming figures.

  • 본 논문에서는 한국어 구문 해석을 위해 동사 중심의 구문 틀 정보를 구축하고, 나아가 결합 빈도가 높은 명사와의 결합 관계를 하나의 네트워크로 구성하는 구문 해석의 방법을 제안한다. 동사 중심의 구문 틀과 명사의 의미 자질은 구문 해결에서 아주 중요한 역할을 하는 것으로, 구문의 비문 여부를 가리는 데 도움을 준다. 그러나 명사의 의미 자질은 경계가 모호하여 구문의 적격성(wellformedness)을 가리기에는 부족한 점이 많다. 따라서 동사와 명사의 결합 관계를 이용하면 구문의 의미적 적격성을 좀 더 명시적으로 가릴 수 있다. 한국어에서 기본 동사이고, 초등학교 교과서에서 사용된 빈도가 아주 높은 동사 '가다'를 가지고 구체적으로 구문 틀 정보와 결합 명사의 의미 자질 및 결합 관계를 정리하였다.

A Study of Philosophical Thinking Methods in Elementary School "Reading" Textbooks (초등학교 '읽기' 교과서의 철학교육적 접근)

  • This study analyzed the contents of "Reading" textbooks for 1st-6th grades. The focus of the analysis was on philosophical thinking methods designed to help children to think for themselves. Following the analysis, methods were designed for the application of effective use of Philosophy in the elementary school curriculum. Analysis of works of children's literature in "reading" textbooks show patterns of logical, ethical and creative thinking. Therefore, "reading" textbooks can be used to help children to think philosophically. Five stages of discussion can be applied in the classroom; these are: establish the issues, outline the process of discussion, discuss the issues, evaluate and summarize the discussion, apply the learning to other subjects. Teachers can use philosophical thinking methods to improve the quality and quantity of instruction with various questions, having children express their opinions, interpreting their thoughts clearly, maintaining logical consistency, and evaluating the procedures and results of discussion. These methods can be used in the teaching-learning process in the elementary school to develop rich findings and meaningful communication.

An Analysis of Elementary $"Chay{\tilde{o}}n"$ Textbooks : From a Perspective of Gender Fairness (양성(兩性) 평등 교육의 관점에서 본 초등 학교 "자연" 교과서 분석)

  • The textbook is a predominant feature of most classrooms. Because the textbook is an important aspect of educational experience, it is essential that the content of the texts be carefully scrutinized. The purpose of this study was to examine the visual portrayal of gender groups in elementary $"Chay{\tilde{o}}n"$ textbooks developed by the 6th National Science Curriculum. An instrument was developed to analyze the nature and type of activity engaged in by these groups as well as how often members of these groups were portrayed. Data were collected from 8 elementary $"Chay{\tilde{o}}n"$ textbooks. The results show the following two different features. While the elementary $"Chay{\tilde{o}}n"$ textbooks do not show gender-biases in representing science learning activities such as observing, experimenting, measuring, they show distinct gender-stereotyped roles and activities. It is expected that the results of this study are considered in developing the new elementary "Science" textbooks which show gender-fairness.

  • In this article, we compared and analyzed the Korean 7th National Mathematics textbooks and Harcourt Math textbooks in America focused on the area of geometry for the elementary school students. We expect that this article would contribute to the elementary school teacher for the reorganization of the elementary school mathematics curriculums.

  • ${\cdot}$중등학교 수학교육에 있어서 문제해결에 대한 관심은 전세계적으로 점점 높아지고 있다. 우리 나라 에서는 문제해결 교육을 제 4차 교육과정 개정부터 시작하여 제 7차 교육과정에서도 아주 중요시 하고있다. 이렇게 교육과정의 변화에도 불구하고 수학 교육헌장에서 교사들의 문제해결에 대하여 갖는 인식도나 실천적 의지는 매우 부족하다. 이런 관점에서 첫째는 문제해결력에 관한 제 7차교육과정의 교과서를 분석함으로써 문제해결 지도에 사용되고 있는 문제의 유형을 분석하였다. 둘째는 교사들의 설문지를 통하여 수학 교육에서 문제해결을 위한 교사의 신념을 조사하여 교육 현장에서 문제해결력의 문제점을 분석하여 앞으로의 개선책을 알아본다.

  • The purpose of this thesis is to help the teachers in school to widen the knowledge and to understand the North Korean society by comparative analysis of South and North Korean elementary school's mathematics education process and text books. It is needless to say that we need to have more knowledge and understanding about North Korea as the international and national situation is changing so rapidly these days. One of the most effective ways to understand North Korea is to understand their education. So, 1 wrote this thesis as a way of getting ready for the united Korea by knowing mathematics texts and their system, composition, contents of elementary school in North Korea If this little try is going to be a help in anyway, I will try to do a better study in future.
