Analysis of Wrinkling for Creased Thin Membrane (접힌 자국이 있는 멤브레인의 주름 거동 해석)

  • In this paper, the wrinkling behavior of vertically creased corner-loaded square membranes was studied using geometrically nonlinear post-buckling analysis. The membranes were modeled using shell elements, and the meshes were seeded with semi-random geometrical imperfection to instigate the buckling deformation. A pristine and creased membranes with various initial deployment angles were considered in the analyses and the results were compared. Results showed that local wrinkles initiated near the corner where the higher load was applied, which grew to form a single diagonal global wrinkle as the load ratio increased. It was also found that the local wrinkle initiation and the global wrinkle formation were significantly dependent on the initial deployment angles.

Strength and Initial Stiffness of Composite Beams with a Rectangular Web-Opening (직사각형 웨브 개구부를 가진 합성보의 강도와 초기강성도)

  • For the efficient performance of steel and composite building structures subjected to strong earthquake, one of current research investigates the cyclic behavior of open-web composite beams. Both experimental test and nonlinear FEM analysis demonstrate their behavior so ductile that four T-sections around the corners of rectangular web-opening develop plastic hinges prior to potential brittle failure at the beam end, i.e. at the column face. This research proposes simplified equations for determining strength and initial stiffness of composite beams with a rectangular web-opening, and compares its results with those of experimental test and nonlinear FEM analysis.

An Experimental Study on the Early-Age Behavior and Temperature Pattern of CRCP (CRCP의 초기거동 및 온도패턴에 관한 시험적 연구)

  • An experimental test section was placed in Pangyo-Guri Expressway to monitor the performance of CRCP(Continuously Reinforced Concrete Pavement). So far early-age behaviors of the test section have been monitored for about two years. The purposes of this paper are to analyze the early-age behavior and temperature pattern of the test section and to compare the results with those of similar test sections placed in Houston. As results of this study, following findings were obtained. The results of Pangyo-Guri test section were generally better than those of Houston test sections in terms of the early-age crack patterns. Type II cement was more effective than type I cement in controlling the early-age cracking. Afternoon placement was more effective than morning construction in controlling the early-age cracking in summer season.

  • 본 연구에서는 골조의 안정과 구조적인 거동에 영향을 미치는 2차 효과에 의한 기하학적 비선형 문제, 세장비가 작은 부재 단면의 소성, 보-기둥 접합부의 상태, 그리고 부재 내부에 발생되어 있는 기하학적 초기결함을 고려한 복합적인 비선형 해석프로그램을 개발하여, 철골조 구조물의 거동을 근사적으로 예측하고자 한다. 그리고, 각 비선형 해석의 신뢰성을 검증하고, 상호관계를 파악되기 위해서 각 해석에 따른 좌굴하중과 거동을 비교 검토한다.

고에너지 B 이온주입에 의해 형성된 결함의 열처리 거동특성

  • 고에너지 이온 주입에 의해 형성되는 결함의 거동을 DLTS(deep level transient spectroscopy)를 통해 조사하였다. 이온 주입에 이용된 기판들은 서로 다른 산소 농도를 가지고 있었으며, B 이온의 주입 농도는 각각 5X10E13 ~ 4X10E14으로 주입 에너지는 1.5MeV였다. 이온 주입에 의해 형성된 buried layer 내의 boron의 농도는 SIMS(secondary ion mass spectroscopy)를 이용하여 측정하였으며, 열처리에 따른 이차 결함의 생성은 TEM(transmission electron microscopy) 및 BMD(bulk micro defect)를 조사함으로써 알 수 있었다. 이온 주입에 의해 형성된 일차 결함의 제거 및 silicon 내부에서의 금속 gettering을 위하여 furnace 및 RTA (rapid thermal annealing)를 이용한 열처리를 행하였다. 이온주입 초기 상태 및 산소의 농도 또는 이온주입의 농도에 따른 결함을 살펴보기 위하여 DLTS를 이용하였으며, 또한 열처리에 따른 이러한 초기 결함들의 거동을 조사하여 TEM 및 BMD 결과와 비교, 분석하였다.

Experimental Study on Influence of Levee Breach Depth on Flood Wave Propagation in Inundation Area (제방붕괴깊이 조건에 따른 제내지 범람홍수파 거동 실험)

  • 본 연구에서는 제방붕괴에 의한 제내지 홍수파 거동 해석의 일환으로 제방붕괴시 제방의 붕괴깊이에 따른 제내지에서의 홍수파의 거동 양상을 수리실험을 통하여 고찰하였다. 다양한 제방붕괴폭과 초기하도수위 및 제방붕괴고 조건에 대해 범람홍수파의 전파속도와 제내지에서의 최대수심의 변화를 실험을 통하여 관찰하였다. 범람홍수파 선단(wave-front)의 이동속도는 동일한 하도수위조건에서는 붕괴고가 높을수록 감소하는 것으로 나타나 제방붕괴시 월류수심 $H_w$가 범람홍수파 전파속도에 영향을 준다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 모든 실험조건에서 최대수심은 일정한 경향을 띠고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 제방인근 지점에서 최대수심이 가장 크게 나타났고, 붕괴부로부터 일정 지점이 지나면 수위가 급격히 감소하여 거리에 관계없이 일정한 최대수심을 유지하는 것을 알 수 있었다. 동일 수위조건이라면 제방붕괴고가 낮을수록 제내지로 유입되는 유량이 증가하여 초기에 제방붕괴부 주위에서 수심이 높아지는 것으로 분석할 수 있다. 실험결과를 이용하여 범람홍수파의 전파속도와 최대수심을 산정하는 식을 무차원변수를 이용하여 제시하였다.

Initial Shear Strength of Hollow Sectional Columns Subjected to Lateral Force (횡하중을 받는 RC 중공단면 기둥의 초기전단강도)

  • Ductility-based seismic design is strongly required for the rational and cost-effective design of RC piers, and a reliable evaluation of shear strength is indispensable for its success. Unlike the flexural behavior of RC columns, shear behavior is highly complex, due to its many effects such as size, aspect ratio, axial force, ductility and so on. To address this, many design and empirical equations have been proposed considering these effects. However, these equations show significant differences in their evaluation of the initial shear strength, and the reduction in strength with the increase of ductility. In this study, the characteristics of initial shear strength of hollow sectional columns were investigated using experiments with the parameters of aspect ratios, void ratios, web area ratios and load patterns. The test results were analyzed through a comparison with the values predicted by empirical equations. On the basis of the mechanical characteristics and test results, a new empirical equation was proposed, and its validity was assessed.

  • It is well known that the shear strength of an RC column subjected to a lateral force decreases with the increase of the displacement ductility of column. This decreasing rate of shear strength is quite dependent on the initial shear strength. Therefore, the evaluation of the initial shear strength is important to predict the shear strength with reasonable accuracy. The shear behavior is complex because many parameters, such as the sectional shape, aspect ratio, axial force, longitudinal bars and ductility, are mutually interactive. In this study, the initial shear strength has been investigated by experiments varying parameters such as the aspect ratios, void ratios, ratio of longitudinal bars and sectional types. A new empirical equation for the initial shear strength, considering the ratio of the longitudinal bars, has been proposed and its validity has been assessed.

  • There are two kinds of instability phenomena for shell-type structures which are snap-through and bifurcation buckling. These are very sensitive according to the shape characteristics including rise-span ratio and especially shape initial imperfection. In this study, the equilibrium path of shallow sinusoidal arches supported by hinges at both ends is investigated to grasp the instability behavior of shell-type structures with initial imperfection. The Galerkin method is used to get the nonlinear discretized equation of governing differential equation considering geometric nonlinearity of arches and the perturbation method is also used to transform the nonlinear equation to incremental form.

  • PEMBE(plasma enhanced molecular beam epitaxy)방법으로 성장된 GaN 박막의 초기 거동현상을 실시간 X-선 산란을 이용하여 관찰하였다. 표면이 원자 계단(atomic step)을 이루고 있는 사파이어 기판 위에 성장하는 GaN 박막은 layer-by-layer 모드로 성장 후 3D 모드로 성장을 하였다. 거친 표면을 가진 사파이어 기판 위에 성장하는 GaN 박막은 성장 초기는 표면을 평평하게 만든 후, 3D 모드로 성장하였다. 플라즈마로 생성된 이온화된 질소는 표면의 에너지를 변화시켜 GaN 박막의 증착을 증진시키고, 표면의 coverage를 증가시킨다.
