자율운항선박, 무인선과 같이 전통적 선박 형태에 자율성이 부여되는 형태로의 발전과 함께 드론, 비행체 같은 비행 형태까지 포함하는 해상 모빌리티는 기존 통신 체계 대비 실시간성 향상 및 대용량 데이터 교환이 요구되는 새로운 해상 안전 운항 체계가 수반되어야 한다. 초고속해상무선통신망(LTE-Maritime) 송수신기를 장착한 국내 선박의 경우, LTE급의 통신 서비스를 연안 최대 100km까지 받을 수 있지만, 국제 항해를 하는 국적선과 외국적 선박을 포함하는 해상 모빌리티 안전 운항 체계 구축을 위해서는 VDES(VHF Data Exchange System)와 같은 국제협약에서 인정하고 해상이동서비스(Maritime Mobile Service)에 속하면서 기존보다 빠른 통신망의 보급이 필수적이다. 본 논문에서는 향후 해상 모빌리티 구현을 위해 필요한 해상무선통신망의 하나로 VDES의 필요성에 주목하여 그간의 개발 현황으로부터 향후 VDES 서비스 도입 및 활용방안에 관해 논한다.

WiBro는 휴대 인터넷, 무선 광대역 인터넷, 무선 초고속 인터넷 등으로 풀이된다. 이동전화처럼 언제 어디서나 이동하면서도 초고속으로 인터넷을 이용할 수 있는 서비스로, 한국이 국제 표준화를 주도하고 있는 3.5세대 이동통신 서비스이자 국책사업이다. 기존의 무선인터넷 환경은 이동통신사에서 제공하는 컨텐츠에만 접근이 가능한 폐쇄적인 구조이지만 WiBro를 비롯한 3.5세대의 무선인터넷 서비스로 개방형 구조로 전환된다. 본 논문에서는 WiBro와 WiMAX의 차이점과 시스템의 특징 및 구조에 대하여 알아보고 휴대 인터넷의 핵심 기술인 핸드오버를 WiBro상에서 어떻게 구현했는지에 관해 살펴보고자 한다.

As demand for high speed Internet service has explosively increased in the United States for the past decade, the construction or upgrades of telecommunication infrastructure has also been rapidly followed. Though currently many people in urbanized areas can be provided advanced broadband services, there are still challengeable areas to be served, such as remote or low populated areas because those areas are potentially non-profitable to commercial broadband service providers. This paper addresses the spatial disparity or in a broader term, the 'digital divide' of the broadband access by the county level in the United States. We propose the quantified measure of the county level broadband accessibility for identifying such digital divide. The developed measure is a hybrid form of the classical gravity based potential model and network topological accessibility, encouraged from the lack of prior efforts eying to explicitly incorporate the understanding of the whole process of the Internet access. The computational tasks are performed in a GIS platform, which includes several programmed functions.

This paper proposes QoS Model which has tested and analyzed the capabilities of provisioning multimedia service in high speed Internet environment. We have tested quality measurement test for VoIP/MoIP, VoD, IPTV services and analyzed the level of QoS and QoS degradation by constructing test laboratory consisted of 46 subscribers which provided by 3 telecom operators. Besides, We propose QoS Model to apply for BcN application based on analysis result and prove proposed model by constructing test lab in KOREN environment. It is expected that telecom will use this results as a valuable information to construct All-IP network based on NGN(NGN:Next Generation Network).This paper proposes QoS Model which has tested and analyzed the capabilities of provisioning multimedia service in high speed Internet environment. IPTV는 초고속인터넷망을 이용하는 양방향 TV 서비스로, 기존 인터넷TV와 다른 점은 컴퓨터 모니터 대신 TV 수상기를 이용하고 마우스 대신 리모콘을 사용한다. IPTV 서비스는 인터넷이 연결된 TV 수상기, 셋톱박스만 있으면 이용할 수 있다. 그리고 IPTV는 1,000개 이상의 고화질 채널에 있어 채널수가 제한된 케이블TV 보다 많은 종류의 서비스가 가능하다. 그런데 최근 이런 IPTV 서비스에 대한 궁금증이 증가하고 있다.
