This study examined the participation of the people with stroke living in the community in terms of productivity, leisure, and social domain, and identified the effect on disability acceptance and anxiety. For data collection, from October 2018 to January 2019, data on disability acceptance, anxiety, and participation were collected from 192 people with stroke who used welfare centers and community services. For general characteristics, t-test and one-way ANOVA were used to compare participation according to descriptive statistics and general characteristics. Pearson correlation analysis was used for correlation between variables, and multiple regression analysis was used to identify causality. As the result, factors affecting the productivity of participation were labor(β=.28, p<.001), de-emphasis on disability salience(β=.14, p<.05), compensatory(β=.22, p<.01), and subjective anxiety(β=-.35, p<.05), and the explanatory power was 33%(F=9.44, p<.001). Leisure was expressed as self-satisfaction with disability(β=.18, p<.05) and the compensatory(β=.18, p<.05), and had an explanatory power of 23%(F=6.32, p<.001). Social activity was labor(β=.19, p<.01), and subjective anxiety(β=-.51, p<.05), which showed 23%(F=6.05, p<.001) of explanatory power. This suggests the importance of psychosocial factors for a changed life after the onset of a stroke, and a practical approach is needed to construct and apply programs to improve participation.

The population aged 95 years and older in Seoul approximately increased to five-fold over the past 10 years, while nationwide rates increased to three-fold. In order to examine the dietary habit and nutritional status of oldest-old population living in Seoul, we recruited 87 subjects (25 males and 62 females) aged 95 years and older. The prevalence of underweight (BMI < 18.5 $kg/m^2$) and obesity (BMI ${\geq}25kg/m^2$) were 18.2% and 18.2% in males, and 20.8% and 9.4% in females, respectively. In self-assessment of health, only 25.3% answered to be unhealthy. More males exercised regularly and reported a wide range of activities than females. The average of %Kcal from carbohydrate, protein and fat (C : P : F) was 64.9 : 13.8 : 21.2 in males and 68.1 : 14.2 : 17.7 in females. The average daily energy intake was 1,307 kcal in males and 1,304 kcal in females. More than 75% of subjects were taking under estimated average requirements (EAR) for vitamin $B_1$, $B_2$ & C and Ca. The average of mean adequacy ratio (MAR) was 0.66 in males and 0.70 in females, and 28.8% of males and 12.9% of females were in MAR < 0.50. Based on MAR, 32.0% of males and 14.5% females were classified as normal and 16.0% of males and 25.8% of females were classified as malnourished. Our subjects were taking more animal food, especially milk and its products, compared to those living, in rural areas. However, a significant proportion did not meet the EAR for vitamin $B_1$, $B_2$ & C and Ca.

With the rapid progress of ageing several issues concurrently occur, and one important social issue that must be resolved is accidents involving Elderly drivers. Efforts to reduce the frequency of such accidents is a must in order to be prepared to face a superaged society. Currently people aged 65 or older are prescribed as an "Elderly person." Therefore, various studies concerning accidents involving Elderly drivers apply this age criteria to separate regular drivers and Elderly drivers. However, there is no criteria to practically discern Elderly drivers with certain physical features as vulnerable road users based on a level of acceptable accuracy. Therefore, this studies intends to compare the possibility of accidents by age group of Elderly drivers by correlation analysis to analyze the accident characteristics by age group. Results showed that for drivers aged 75 and older, their influence on major accident characteristics by vehicle type increased with higher age groups. In particular, passenger cars had a relatively low accident frequency rate for drivers aged between 70 and 80, but for drivers aged 75 to 84, they had higher influence on accidents for the same vehicle type. This demonstrates that as ageing progresses and the average life expectancy increases, the age span of elders continues to increase, meaning that characteristics differ by age group among the aged. This study confirmed that the influence on the possibility of accidents differs by age group among the aged.

After city of Busan has been entered to the aging society in 2000, the city has the highest aging rate among 7 representative cities in 2011. Moreover, while entire population and number of average household are decreasing, over 65 years old of elderly population is rapidly increasing. So, it is possible to enter the super-aged society, where aging rate would be about 20% after 2020. The purpose of this study is that older housing-related analysis is consisted of dong-unit, and this led microscopic analysis has become necessary. Surveys from 2000 through 2010, census aggregate (output area) unit of spatial analysis was conducted. Take advantages of this, aging population and area, soaring area, high-density areas, such as the region of interest were primary extracted, and microscopic location and spatial distribution patterns were analyzed. Upon analysis, aging population is concentrated in the city and adjacent area, the highlands, and 10 years of increasing rate was more than 30 times in certain aggregate. Regarding the characteristic of these areas, the original city center, Busan, especially concentrated and intensified in aging population. Also, 2000 to 2010, the overall distribution pattern of Busan has identified aging population that is increasingly being distributed. This is the result, which is confronted with previous research result. Entering a super aged-society for the future is accordance with migration of social costs and improve the quality of life of elderly. And this could be the basic information to use the spatial dimension for the corresponding.
Today's elderly people is no longer dependent, but is being transformed into learning, serving, producing and contributing. Therefore, the importance of lifelong education for the elderly people to overcome the social and psychological anxiety of the elderly people and improve the quality of life is increasingly emphasized. In addition, the starting point of lifelong education for the elderly people is getting faster and faster to prepare for the post-aged society. The purpose of this study is to examine how lifelong education for the elderly people affects self-esteem and self-integration, and how empowerment mediates between lifelong education for the elderly people and self-esteem, lifelong education for the elderly people and self-integration. To this end, 220 members over 50 years of age who participated in lifelong education responded to the survey, and statistical analysis was conducted by SPSS and AMOS. The results of this study proved that lifelong education for the elderly people improves self-esteem, self-integration and empowerment, and empowerment plays a mediating role in the between lifelong education for the elderly people and self-esteem, and in the between lifelong education for the elderly people and self-integration. As a result of this study, the importance of lifelong education for the elderly people was confirmed and the practical plans were found. Finally, the direction of lifelong education for the elderly people and the limitations of this study were discussed.
Purpose: This study was conducted to effectively apply the nutrition and hygiene education program for improving the nutritional status of the elderly aged 65 years and above. Methods: The first study was conducted by enrolling 121 willing elderly subjects from welfare centers in four regions of Chungbuk. The second study included 347 people from 10 regions of Chungbuk. Data were analyzed using the SPSS (version 12.0) and SAS (version 9.2) programs. Results: Most participants in both studies were women, ranging from 70-79 years of age. In the first study, the performance rates of subjects, after imparting the education on hygiene, eating habits, and nutritional knowledge, were significantly increased for all factors. Goesan and Boeun areas were highly effective in hygiene practice and eating habits after education. In the second study, Chungju had the most educational effect on hygiene education, with a score of 6.41 points before education and 7.68 points after education. The greatest impact of education on eating habits was obtained at Goesan, with 9.23 points and 11.26 points before and after education, respectively. Large regional differences were determined for the effect of the education program. For nutritional knowledge, the combined average score of Boeun and Goesan showed a maximum increase after education. When considering satisfaction, the scores of Cheongju and Jeungpyeong increased the most after education, whereas Goesan showed that the average scores before and after education were close to perfect. Surprisingly, the Okcheon area, where there was no significant difference in the educational effect after the education program in the first study, showed significant improvement for all factors after the second education program. The current study indicates that continuous education programs are essential for improving the nutritional status of the elderly. Conclusion: Therefore, continuous nutrition and hygiene education programs are recommended to improve the nutritional status of the elderly.
Objective : To identify the effect of lifestyle risk factors on the daily activities and cognition of the older adults in the community using the National Health Insurance Corporation 2015 geriatric cohort database. Methods : Lifestyle risk factors were defined as body mass index (BMI), smoking, drinking, vigorous exercise, moderate exercise, and walking, and basic and instrumental activities of daily living (ADL) and cognitive function variables were included in the analysis. ADL and cognitive function according to sex and age were analyzed using a t-test and one-way ANOVA. The correlation between lifestyle risk factors, ADL, and cognitive function was analyzed using Pearson's correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis was performed to analyze their influence. Results : The factors affecting basic ADL (BADL) were sex and walking exercises, with an explanatory power of 1.7%. Instrumental ADL (IADL) included age, drinking, and walking exercises, with an explanatory power of 2.6%. Cognitive function included sex, age, BMI, vigorous exercise, and walking, with an explanatory power of 5.3%. Conclusion : Lifestyle risk factors partially affected BADLs/IADLs and cognitive function in community-dwelling older adults. This suggests the need to systematically manage lifestyle risk factors to improve and maintain the healthy lives of older adults facing biological aging.
Recently, "aging in place" has become the principle philosophy of elderly housing policy in many countries. However, since there is ambiguity surrounding the universal definition of it, the meaning of AIP has been defined by political expediency. This study aims to discuss the meaning of AIP by examining the transition of elderly housing issues and policy in Japan. During the last two decades, the Japanese government has tried to launch a new elderly welfare system to shift the responsibility of elderly care from the family to the society and from the society to the region. And the focus of elderly housing policy has shifted from the promotion of three-generation dwellings to supporting the development of private residences. However, since the main goal has been limiting the welfare budgets rather than enhancing the quality of life, elderly housing issues have been reduced to a matter of choosing either elderly care facilities frequently located in suburbs or not. This paper suggest that we should pursue the true AIP idea in housing policy, and argues that to do so we need to consider AIP from diverse aspects such as temporal continuity, the range of space, the dynamics of place experience and the capability of communities.

This paper analyzes the characteristics of trip chaining activities of elderly and explores temporal and spatial distribution. The research also estimates ordered probit model and binary logistic model to investigate various factors affecting trip chaining and mode choice patterns. We utilized household survey data for elderly conducted in 2006 and 2010 in Seoul metropolitan area. Research results indicate that trip chaining showed an increasing trend and simple trip chaining counts for more than 85%. GIS mapping expressed spatial distribution of trip departure and arrival areas, particularly showing regional changes in job-related trips. We also found that more factors influence trip chaining in 2010, compared with 2006, and travel cost is more sensitive than travel time in determining travel mode. The research contributes to establish transportation policies based on travel behavior of elderly in a upcoming super-aged society.
As the aging society progresses and the functional cosmetics market is revitalized we have learned that the functional cosmetics that the silver generation is most interested in are wrinkle-improving products and we are making great efforts to develop functional cosmetics that improve wrinkles. The ingredients are actually making. From the early 2000s when the development of functional cosmetics began to the present the research trends of functional cosmetics for wrinkle improvement were analyzed by analyzing papers on functional cosmetics for wrinkle improvement. Research methods focused on literature search and SIRS paper search keywords. And the cosmetic material that needs to be researched focuses on the anti-aging function among functional cosmetics which is the anti-wrinkle function. The research results show the rapid growth of the Anti-aging market. As the population ages the generation of silver with high purchasing power will expand and a market for expensive anti-aging products and services for a healthy old age will be formed.
