Development on the Soil-Water Characteristics Curve Equation of Deformable Soils (체적이 변하는 흙의 흙-수분 특성곡선식 개발 비교)

  • 본 논문은 체적이 변하는 흙에 대하여 새로운 흙-수분 특성곡선 이론을 제시하고 이를 실험적으로 규명하였다. 그 결과, 점토와 같이 불포화되는 과정중 체적변형이 발생하는 흙의 흙-수분 특성곡선은 간극비와 흡인력의 함수이므로 체적변화를 무시할 수 없음이 밝혀졌다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 체적변화가 있는 경우 흙-수분특성곡선을 구하기 위하여 두가지 실험법을 채택하였다. 그 첫째는 전통적인 압력판 추출시험과, 중량함수비와 간극비와의 관계를 알 수 있는 수축한계시험을 실시하여 조합하는 방법이며, 둘째 방법은 압력판 셀을 새로인 고안하여 추출시험시에 체적 수축도 측정할 수 있는 수정된 압력판 셀 시험방법을 이용하는 것이다. 이 시험결과를 3차원 상의 면(surface)에서 표현하여, 체적변형을 고려한 흙-수분 특성을 규명할수 있도록 하였다.

Effect of Cross-Sectional Dimension on the Shrinkage Property of Korean Red-Pine Wood (소나무재의 단면치수에 따른 수축률 특성)

  • Red pine (Pinus densiflora) has been used for structural wood members of Korean traditional residence (HANOK) and historic wooden structures. For these constructions, generally, natural drying has conducted for long time; however, unless drying is conducted sufficiently, it could cause several drying defects such as check or warping. Shrinkage changes of red pine species for small clear specimens and big-size specimens according to the conditions of moisture contents, were examined. For the estimation of volumetric shrinkage at a special moisture content, it was more precise to divide the range of moisture contents into two groups, green to air-dry and air-dry to oven-dry. The volumetric shrinkage had no difference with specimen sizes in sapwood, but decreased as specimen size increased in heartwood.

  • 사출성형은 많은 장점과 유용성에도 불구하고 싱크마크나 휨과 같은 변형문제를 피 하기 어렵다. 이것은 성형품의 부위별 온도분포 및 냉각속도 차이에 의한 잔류응력에 기인 하는 것으로 구조가 복잡하거나 크기가 쿤 경우에 더욱 더 문제가 되기 쉽다. 이와 같은 문 제를 해결하기 위하여 성형품의 내부에 기포를 형성시켜 수지의 수축분을 기포의 성장으로 보상하여 주는 가스사출성형이 개발되어 많이 활용되고 있는 실정이다. 한편 일반 가스성형 과 달리 수지를 완전히 채운후 저압의 공기를 이용하여 기포를 발생시켜 수지의 체적수축분 을 보상해주는 PFP성형기술은 가스사출의 나점인 공기의 유동조절문제를 해결하고 비용이 저렴한 등의 잇점을 가지고 있다. 이 과정은 가스성형공정의 2차 침투과정과 매우 유사하나 아직까지 이에대한 이해나 연구는 매우 부족한 실정이다 본 연구는 기포의 성장이 수지의 체적수축에 의한 것이라는 가정에 근거하여 기포성장길이에 관한 모델링을 수행한 것이다. 실험결과와의 비교를 통하여 기본 가정에 대한 타당성을 검증하고 여러 인자들의 영향을 살 펴보았다. 본 연구는 PFP성형공정에 대한 이해를 증진시켜 금형설계 및 성형조건 설정에 대한 가이드라인을 제시하며 아울러 PFP공정에 대한 보다 체계적인 이해 및 일반가스성형 의 2차 침투과정 등의 관련 현상에 대한 이해 및 연구에 도움이 될것으로 기대된다.

A Similarity Solution for the Directional Casting of Peritectic Alloys in the Presence of Shrinkage-Induced Flow (체적수축유동이 있는 포정합금의 방향성주조에 대한 상사해)

  • This paper presents a similarity solution for the directional casting of binary peritectic alloys in the presence of shrinkage-induced flow. The present model retains essential ingredients of alloy solidification, such as temperature-solute coupling, macrosegregation, solid-liquid property differences, and finite back diffusion in the primary phase. An algorithm for simultaneously determining the peritectic and liquidus positions is newly developed, which proves to be more efficient and stable than the existing scheme. Sample calculations are performed for both hypo- and hyper-peritectic compositions. The results show that the present analysis is capable of properly resolving the solidification characteristics of peritectic alloys so that it can be used for validating numerical models as a test solution.

  • Restriction orifices in the feed and bleed circuit of nuclear power plant are designed using computer program capable of handling multiple hole cascade orifice assembly. Single hole stages of orifice assembly are alternated with multihole stages where necessary. The distance between stages is such that it allows full pressure recovery. The minimum static pressure is higher than vapor pressure at the operating temperature so that cavitation does not occur. Piping sizes are reviewed and increased if necessary to improve rigidity.

  • This paper presents an optimization procedure for reducing warpage of injection molded part by using a volumetric shrinkage deviation as an objective function. A design of experiments based on orthogonal arrays was used in the optimization procedure, and the entire optimization was performed through a two stage process - a preliminary experimentation and a principal experimentation. Proposed optimization method was applied to the design of a CPU-base part in computer. With the moderate number of experiments, an optimal molding condition for uniform distribution of volumetric shrinkage was obtained, as a result, the warpage of the molded part was significantly reduced.

  • The quality of injection molded parts is affected by the variables such as materials, design variables of part and mold, molding machine, and processing conditions. It is difficult to consider all the variables at the same time to predict the quality. In this paper neural network was applied to analyze the relationship between processing conditions and volumetric shrinkage of part. Engineering plastic gear was used for the study, and the learning data was extracted by the simulation software like Moldflow. Results of neural network was good agreement with simulation results. Nonlinear regression model was formulated using the test data of 3,125 obtained from neural network, Optimal processing conditions were calculated to minimize the volumetric shrinkage of molded part by the application of RQP(Recursive Quadratic Programming) algorithm.

  • Volume change of the dredged soils is composed of loss amount of the soil particles flowing over an outflow weir with water and settlements due to both the self-weight consolidation in reclaimed layer and the desiccation at the surface of reclaimed layer. In order to estimate the amount of soil particles flowing over an outflow weir with water, the breakage theory and the results of hydrometer analyses. To verify a validity of the proposed procedure, evaluated loss ratio is compared with various estimates from the other existing methods.

원봉의 일방향 응고과정에 대한 수치해석

  • 본 연구에서는 금속의 응고과정에 수반되는 고체와 액체의 밀도차에 의한 체 적수축을 고려하여 원봉내에서의 일방향 응고과정에 대한 수치해석을 하였다. 상변 화면에서 체적수축에 의한 중력방향으로의 액상 전체운동(bulk motion)과 원봉의 인출 속도 및 주형벽면에서의 경계조건이 금속내부의 온도분포와 상경계면의 이동속도에 미 치는 영향에 대해 연구하였다.

  • The causes of concrete shrinkage are very diverse, in particular, aggregates impact the characteristics of shrinkage in concrete by constraining the shrinkage of cement paste. Meanwhile, owing to the lack of natural aggregate, various alternative aggregates are being developed, and their application in concrete also becomes more diverse. This study aimed to experimentally evaluate the drying and autogenous shrinkage in concrete that was composed of electric arc furnace slag as coarse aggregates. And, the results were compared with prediction models. From the results, the application of electric arc furnace slag can reduce the drying and autogenous shrinkage. In particular, autogenous shrinkage is greatly decreased. The predictions using GL2000 for drying shrinkage and Tazawa model for autogenous shrinkage were similar to the experimental results. However, the most prediction models do not consider the impact of aggregates, hence, the new prediction model should be developed or improved.
