Recently, sterilization technology has received increasing interest due to the COVID-19 pandemic and required safety precautions. Particularly, sterilization devices using near ultraviolet (UV) with a 405 nm wavelength are also drawing attention. It has a UV-C wavelength and other sterilization effects. Its blue-colored light on the boundary between UV and visible light is used as a light-emitting diode (LED) lamp for 405 nm sterilization, owing to its longer wavelengths than UV rays. However, the 405 nm wavelength contains blue light that can damage the eyes and skin during prolonged exposures and affect the emotional and biological parts of the body. Currently, 405 nm sterilization LED light registers are circulating in the market. However, they have not undergone safety tests for blue-light hazards. Thus, with the active distribution of sterilization LED lights, solid safety standards and management systems are essential to protect users from blue-light hazards. Accordingly, in this study, we conducted spectral radiance and spectral radiative luminance tests on 405 nm sterilization LED registers available in the market by the measurement criteria of IEC 62471. Safety standards must be established to secure users' safety against blue light hazards at a time when 405nm sterilization LED lights are actively distributed due to COVID-19.
Rose seed shows low germination percentages (about 20%) because it has a high amount of substances that inhibit germination in the pericarp. We investigated the effect of orientation of achene, the day after pollination (DAP), and cold storage with or without half-cut in achene for the germination percentage in R. rugosa. Germination percentages of intact or half-cut achenes were investigated in a 16-hour photoperiod at $25^{\circ}C$ room on basal MS medium for two weeks. In germination percentage, maximum 100% was measured within one week when half-cut achenes were cultured on an orientation that the embryos facing to the light. Half-cut achenes at 90 DAP were germinated 100% regardless of cold storage. Various LED lights (red, blue, yellow, green, and white) were illuminated over the half-cut achenes to gain the effect of light color. Germination percentage of R. rugosa seeds under blue LED reached the greatest with 90% within one week of culture and these seedlings were the best with a steady growth rate. It is concluded that half-cut achenes would be an effective method to improve seed germination in R. rugosa without stratification or scarification. This system could be applied to breeding studies in rose cultivars.
Organic electroluminesencent device have been studied because of its easy fabrication and high brightness for plate panel display instead of CRT and LED. There are some device structure for full color filter system can be applicable to the full color application if the blue light organic electroluminesencent device(OELD) is developed. In this study, We have investigated electro-luminescent (EL) characteristics of organic EL device using Alq3, PBD as emitting material. Current and luminance can be seen that express a similar relativity in voltage and could know that luminance is expressing current relativity.

The effect of the wavelength of the light emitted by the light-emitting diode (LED) on the growth characteristics and physicochemical and sensory qualities of Pleurotus eryngii were investigated. Pleurotus eryngii were grown under different light sources: blue light (450 nm), red light (650 nm), green light (525 nm), UV-A (365 nm), and mixed light ($B^*R$, $B^*G$, $R^*G$, $B^*R^*G^*UV-A$). The quantity of LED light was set up at 50% (LED: 64.9-108.0 $pmolm-2{\cdot}s-1$;fluorescentlight:11.7lux). Fluorescent light was used as control. There were no significant differences in the flesh firmness. In the case of the Pleurotuseryngii cultivated under red, green, and mixed light ($R^*G$), the color of the pileus and the length of the stipe were similar to those of the control group. The sensory scores were not significantly different between the LED lights (red, green, and $R^*G$) and the control. Among the three LED light conditions, the sample cultivated under red light recorded the highest score. The samples under UV-A, blue, and mixed light ($B^*R$, $B^*G$, $B^*R^*G^*U$) had a dark pileus color and had a short stipe. These results showed that the wavelength of LED light affected the growth and quality characteristics of Pleurotus eryngii, and that using red LED light is preferable for the cultivation of Pleurotus eryngii with better quality.

LEDs are considered to be an alternative for enhancement of energy efficiency, applied for numerous areas such as display, automotive headlight not only lights. Yellow phosphor is generally utilized with blue LEDs to generate WLED, $Y_3Al_{5}O_{12}:Ce^{3+}$ is typically used as the yellow phosphor. The phosphor, mixed with epoxy resin, has been used by being spread and hardened on the blue LED chip. This paste-based packaging gives rise to problems of degradation of phosphor by heat and decrease of luminous efficiency. Although phosphor plate is used instead of the epoxy-phosphor mixture to solve these problems, loss of luminous efficacy by total internal reflection inside the plate also should be solved. In this study, we coated the side of the plate with silver as one of the solution.
The physiological roles of various wavelength of light emitting diode (LED) on ‘Hayward’ kiwifruit experiencing after-ripening were investigated. Various wavelengths from LED light source were irradiated on kiwifruits kept in plastic bags or under open air at $25^{\circ}C$. During two weeks of storage, firmness of Hayward kiwifruits was decreased by $25^{\circ}C$ treatment than by $4^{\circ}C$ treatment. In the $25^{\circ}C$ storage condition, the firmness of kiwifruits was decreased by the treatment of 380 nm UV and 470nm white LED light source. Sweetness of kiwifruits treated with 380 nm UV LED and dark condition at $25^{\circ}C$ increased higher than $15^{\circ}$Brix. The acidity of kiwifruits under open air was decreased 52% by incubating at $25^{\circ}C$ with 660 nm red LED treatment. The acidity of kiwifruits in plastic bags was decreased 52.6, 55.6, 52.8% by the treatment of 440 nm blue, 470 nm white and 660 nm red LED light source, respectively, compared to that of kiwifruits incubated in darkness at $25^{\circ}C$. Decreased acidity irradiated by 660 nm red LED light source can be applied for regulating periods of the kiwifruit after-ripening process. LED light sources emit very narrow wavelength with a power-saving mode, therefore, the usage of these LED light source for regulating the after-ripening process can be classified as a clean biotechnology producing safe and environment-friendly kiwifruits.
We found about cultivation light environment conditions of Neolentinus lepideus. For the high quality of N. lepideus, lights-out was useful. In the lights-out, the diameter of pileus of N. lepideus was smaller, and the length and the thickness of stipes were longer and larger than in that of lighting. At the LED effect, the orange and red LEDs prolonged the cultivation period in N. lepideus. The yields of N. lepideus under the white, blue and green LEDs were higher, and the number of available stipes of N. lepideus under the white and blue LEDs was higher than that of other LEDs. The diameter of pileus of N. lepideus under the white, blue and green LEDs was higher, and the length and the thickness of stipes under the orange and red LEDs was higher than those of other LEDs.

Plants under the genus Orostachys have been known as medicinal plants. This study deems to determine the growth and leaf color of Orostachys japonica and O. boehmeri when subjected to various LED light sources. A total of seven LED light treatments were used, i.e. red (630 nm), green (520 nm), blue (450 nm), purple (650 and 450 nm), 3000 K white (455, 600 nm), 4100 K white (455, 590 nm), and 6500 K white (450, 545 nm) LEDs. Results showed that O. japonica plants showed favorable growth under 4100 K white LED, while O. boehmeri plants had a positive growth response under white light LEDs (3000, 4100, and 6500 K). In leaf color analysis, the use of green LED showed the greatest change in CIELAB L* and b* values which were relatively higher compared to other treatments indicating that leaves turned yellowish. Further statistical analysis using Pearson's correlation also suggested that there is a small negative association between dry weight and b* values of O. japonica, and a negative moderate association between plant weights (fresh and dry weight) and leaf color (L* and b*) and positive association between said plant weights and a* color values of O. boehmeri. Therefore, it is recommended to cultivate O. japonica under 4100 K white LED and O. boehmeri under 3000, 4100, 6500 K white LEDs.
This experiment was conducted to find the day and night temperature combination and the light-emitting diodes (LEDs) on the most effective globe coloration and growth of Chamecereus silvestrii f. variegata 'Hee-Mang'. The $L^*$value, $a^*$value and $b^*$value were all significant difference in the yellow globe color expression in the day and night temperature combination. Especially, the bright yellow color and visual value were the highest in the temperature combination, the day temperature of $20^{\circ}C$ and night temperature of $20^{\circ}C$. Globe color quality was lowered from the day temperature of $25^{\circ}C$ and night temperatures of $5^{\circ}C$ and $10^{\circ}C$ combination. In light-emitting diodes (LEDs) treatments, $a^*$value and $b^*$value are significant difference. A unique beautiful yellow coloration and globe quality were maintained the $a^*$value of +5.23, $b^*$value of +39.9 in a red LED. The optimum temperature range and light-emitting diodes (LEDs) on the globe color expression were the most effective the day temperature of 200e and night temperature of $20^{\circ}C$ and a red LED. In addition, the outer globe color quality of Chamecereus silvestrii f. variegata cultivation, rather than the light environment improvement is better in a proper temperature environment to keep. Especially, a unique globe color expression of yellow lines was most effective in a red LED.

Micro-LEDs show lower efficiencies compared to general LEDs having large areas. Simulations were carried out using ray-tracing software to investigate the change in light extraction efficiency and light distribution according to chip-size of blue flip-chip micro-LEDs (FC ${\mu}-LEDs$). After fixing the height of the square FC ${\mu}-LED$ chip at $158{\mu}m$, the length of one side was varied, with dimensions of 2, 5, 10, 30, 50, 100, 300, and $500{\mu}m$. The highest light-extraction efficiency was obtained at $10{\mu}m$, beyond which the efficiency decreased as the chip-size increased. The chip size-dependence of the FC ${\mu}-LEDs$ both without the patterned sapphire substrate, as well as vertical FC ${\mu}-LEDs$, were analyzed.
