In the last decades, inter-networking technologies advanced more rapidly than any other field. Today, the Internet is one of the most important infrastructure to society as becoming an indispensible tool of people and companies. During mid-1990's, developed countries recognized the advanced network as a basic infrastructure for the future science and technology development. They developed national research and education networks for the development of future science and network technology. In this paper, we made a comprehensive review of global research and education network developments. We also made analysis of Korea's activities on advanced network comparing with those of developed nations, then suggested approaches to improve Korean advanced networks.

최근 건설되어지는 도시들은 정부의 신도시 정책의 일환인 첨단 도시 건설을 목적으로 하는 Ubiquitous City를 계획하고 있다. Ubiquitous City는 언제 어디서나 유비쿼터스 서비스와 인프라가 제공되는 환경을 가지고 있으므로 노출 위험이 높다. 보안을 고려한 개별 시스템들의 설계는 정부 정책과 함께 활발히 진행되지만 통합 시스템을 관리하는 면에서의 방안은 제시되지 못하고 있다. 보안관리방안이 성립되지 못한다면 침해 유형이 고도화되면서 항상 변화하는 유비쿼터스 시대에 보안은 취약해질 수밖에 없다. 시스템을 총괄 관리 및 관제하는 통합네트워크전산센터인 U-City전산센터의 보안 관리망을 구성하고 취약한 시스템들의 보안을 관리하는 대책이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 유비쿼터스 보안망의 체계적인 관리 방안을 통합보안관리(ESM)를 중심으로 기술적인 보안관리대책을 제안한다. 제안된 보안관리대책이 Ubiquitous City를 계획하는 모든 신도시들의 플랫폼이 되도록 한다.

그 동안 세계 자동차산업의 중심이 빠른 속도로 동북아지역으로 이동해 왔다. 일본이 친환경 기술을 비롯한 자동차 첨단기술의 개발과 상용화를 주도해 왔고 중국이 높은 경제성장세를 바탕으로 세계 최대의 자동차 수요국이자 생산국으로 부상했다. 이에 따라 우리 자동차산업이 일본과 중국 사이에 낀 넛 크래커(Nut cracker) 형국에 빠지는 것이 아닌가하는 우려도 일었다. 그러나 중국 자동차산업의 고속 성장에 따른 임금상승과 취약한 부품산업 및 일본 지진사태로 인한 글로벌 부품 공급망의 위험이 노정되면서 동북아 자동차산업의 환경이 급변하고 있다. 본 고에서는 최근 한중일 3국의 자동차산업과 타이어산업의 수급 현황 및 자동차산업정책 동향을 살펴본 후 국내 타이어업계의 대응 전략을 제시해 보기로 한다.

POSCO has been chosen as the most competitive steelmaker in the world, for the 4th year in a row. It's potentials and key success points lay at technology innovation as well as effective partnerships with suppliers and customers. Partnership with suppliers is based upon the effective supply chain management. While ERP system supports the standard business work flows, the biggest impact on business performance is created by exceptions and variability. A SCM Advanced Planning System reduces the amount of exceptional situations, helping to keep business in a standard mode of operation. A case summary on SCM Advanced Planning System of POSCO as well as its impact on firm performances is presented. As a supplement to this case study, we also investigate the employees' perceived level of SCM-related factors, including information sharing, collaboration, incentive system for suppliers and their impacts on SCM performances. As a conclusion, the practical implications of these findings are discussed.

S&OP(Sales and Operations Planning) is an ongoing process of periodic planning, reviewing, and evaluation through the involvement of all key stakeholders. Within this process, performance is regularly reviewed and early warning signals are generated, so that the company can react quickly to changing market and operational environment. This paper presents a framework for effective S&OP for fair alignment, accountability, teamwork, visibility, and risk management. This framework focuses on supply chain information governance, level of information sharing through S&OP, role of S&OP as coordination mechanism, APS effectivesness as a planning tool and SCM performance. In addition, a brief case study on the operating characteristics of S&OP at three Korean firms is presented. Implications of the study finding are also provided. It will also make companies that are considering the introduction of S&OP aware of the importance of S&OP, which will provide practical guidelines for the introduction of S&OP.

Virtual Network service is a key characteristics of future Internet which is debate internationally. There are two kinds of network virtualization technologies considered lately: network functions virtualization and virtual network approaches. Several national wide research networks including US's GENI project have experimented technologies for future Internet and in particular network virtualization is one of key issues. Representative Korean research network, KREONET, is working on deploying virtual network framework as a preliminary for future Ineternet using the virtualization model of SDN/OpenFlow which is typical network model of future Internet. This paper proposes a stepwise model to bring virtual network services in KREONET. Firstly, we requirements of KREONET users' virtual network service and network resource management and network deploying virtual network. Finally, we verify the adequacy of our virtual network model for KREONET.

This paper develops pedestrian fatality models capable of producing the probability of pedestrian fatality in collision between vehicles and pedestrians. Probabilistic neural network (PNN) and binary logistic regression (BLR) ave employed in modeling pedestrian fatality pedestrian age, vehicle type, and collision speed obtained from reconstructing collected accidents are used as independent variables in fatality models. One of the nice features of this study is that an iterative sampling technique is used to construct various training and test datasets for the purpose of better performance comparison Statistical comparison considering the variation of model Performances is conducted. The results show that the PNN-based fatality model outperforms the BLR-based model. The models developed in this study that allow us to predict the pedestrian fatality would be useful tools for supporting the derivation of various safety Policies and technologies to enhance Pedestrian safety.

Smart grid is a representative convergence new technology in the era of the 4th industry revolution that deals with three broad security areas consisting of control system, the power grid, and the consumer. As it is a convergence new technology of the 4th industrial society, it is true that it can have a positive effect on the country's technological development, growth engine, and economic feasibility in the future. However, since the smart grid is expected to cause enormous damage in the event of a security accident, energy-related organizations must prepare various security measures to predict and respond to the latest security incidents. In this paper, the current status of domestic and foreign smart grids, trends in security standards, vulnerabilities and threats, and prospects for smart grid security technologies are to be considered.

Digital broadcasting areas are leading information technology and having been strengthen the competitiveness of industries. In this paper, we developed HSS(Home Stream Station) for recording and transmitting digital broadcasting on digital TV without additional devices, which is based on cable TV network at home. The HSS can record a broadcasting program selected by user while digital TV shows the other channel. User can watch the program stored on the HSS at any time and any digital TV in the home. LAN interface of the HSS was also developed for supplying high quality digital broadcasting-contents through home network using IP-STB(Set Top Box).

Defense exports have overgrown in a short period, and items have been diversified with advanced high-end equipment, but exports have been stagnant due to the global economic recession and fierce competition. Weapons importers in the global market are diversified, volatility is higher, and global defense companies are also expanding their global value chain (GVC) By participating in the GVC of a global defense company, the defense SME can grow into a competitive company with specialized technology, rather than participating as a partner of a domestic system company. It is time to prepare an export promotion support plan. In this study, we selected five global companies with high value for the implementation of offset and general considerations on domestic SMEs' entry into the international parts supply chain and related cases, and investigated GVC entry requirements, the current status of cooperation partners, and the perceptions of GVC entry, through local surveys in Korea and overseas. Also, by considering the export target comprehensively, GVC stage, and the level of export competitiveness of domestic SMEs, strategies for promoting GVC participation of defense SMEs and improvements in government policies were derived and presented.
