Frictional characteristics of electro Zn-Ni alloy coated steel sheets (Zn-Ni계 합금도금강판의 마찰특성에 관한 연구)

  • The frictional characteristic of Zn-Ni electrogalvanized steel sheet was investigated by experimental procedures. To clarify the effect of surface property on the frictional characteristic of Zn-Ni coated steel sheet, Micro-hardness test, SEM analysis and X-ray diffraction analysis were carried out. Coefficients of friction for various stamping lubricant and Ni content in coated layer were measured by a draw bead friction test. The results show that frictional characteristic is very sensitive to Ni content of coated layer and depends on stamping lubricant. For Ni content less than about 11%, selection of proper lubricant is necessary to obtain low coefficient of friction in Zn-Ni coated steel sheet such as in case of cold rolled steel sheet.

Dry Sliding Wear Behavior of Carbide-Particle-Reinforced 7075 Al Alloy Matrix Composites (탄화물(SiC, TiC, $B_4C$ ) 입자 강화 7075 Al 합금 기지 복합재료의 건식 미끄럼 마멸 거동)

  • 무가압침투법으로 제조된 부피분율 10~24% SiC, TiC, B$_4$C 탄화물 입자강화 7075 Al 합금 기지 복합재료의 건식 미끄럼 마멸거동을 강화입자의 종류, 크기 및 부피 분율을 변수로 연구하였다. 미끄럼 마멸 시험은 pin-on-disk 형태의 마멸 시험기를 사용하여, AISI 52100 베어링강을 상대재로 상온 대기 중에서 실시되었다. 마멸특성의 분석과 마멸기구의 규명을 위하여 마멸면과 마멸단면을 SEM, EDS를 이용하여 분석하였다. 제조된 복합재료의 압축 시험을 통하여 측정된 항복강도와 가공경화지수는 서로 반비례하였고, 각 시편간의 경도 차는 크지 않았다. 마멸 시험결과, 크기 및 부피 분율이 7$\mu\textrm{m}$ !0%인 SiC 입자로 강화된 복합재료를 제외하고, 전체 복합재료 시편은 7075 Al 기지 합금에 비해 낮은 마멸 속도를 보였다. 10N 이하의 저하 중에서는 강화상의 종류와 상관없이 복합재료는 낮은 마멸 속도를 보였고, 25N 이상의 고하중에서는 TiC 입자강화 복합재료가 가장 낮은 마멸 속도를, SiC 입자강화 복합재료가 가장 높은 마멸 속도를 나타내었다. 강화 입자의 크기 및 부피 분율이 동일한 경우 SiC 입자로 강화된 복합재료가 가장 낮은 내마멸성을 나타내었다. 강화상의 크기 및 부피 분율이 증가함에 따라 미소 마멸에서 격렬 마멸로의 천이 하중이 증가하였다.

  • 벌크형태의 태양전지 기판을 대체할 목적으로 연성기판을 적응한 태양전지 개발이 활발하게 진행되고 있으며, 주재료는 플라스틱 기판, 금속기판 등이 있다 그러나 기존의 연성기판인 플라스틱의 경우 열과, 내구성, 화학약품에 약하다는 단점이 있으며, 금속기판은 높은 생산원가, 박막화의 어려움 등의 문제를 안고 있다 이러한 문제를 극복하기 위해 전주성형법으로 제조된 철-니켈계 연성기판을 개발하였다. 이 연성기판의 경우 고온의 공정조건에서도 열팽창율이 플라스틱 기판보다 낮으며, 기존의 금속기판 보다 저렴한 생산단가로 쉽게 극박화 할 수 있다는 것이다. 전주성형법을 적용하여 40Ni, 45Ni, 52Ni 연성기관을 제조하였으며, TMA 장비를 사용하여 각 연성기판의 열팽창 계수를 측정한 결과 6.36, 6.78, $10.93{\mu}m/m^{\circ}C$로 기존의 연성기판인 플라스틱, 금속에 비해 낮은 열팽창 계수를 가짐으로서 고온 공정 중에 안정성 요구를 충분히 충족시킬 수 있다.

  • By the mechanical alloying method Ni-W(WC) composite materials were prepared to improve the resistance for creep and sintering of Ni-anode at the operating temperature of$ 650^{\circ}C$. Amorphization was observed from the XRD analysis of mechanically alloyed powder caused by the destruction of ordered crystals. Sintering was performed at $1280^{\circ}C$ for 10 hours in $H_2$ atmosphere. From the result of dot-mapping and TEM analysis the second phase was not observed at Ni-W interface while W particles of less 0.lam were distributed finely and uniformly in Ni matrix. This finely and uniformly distributed W in Ni matrix is expected to enhance the mechanical properties of Ni-anode through the dispersion and solid solution hardening mechanisms.

  • Conventional methods for reducing vibration in engineering designs (i.e. by stiffening or detuning) may be undesirable or inadequate in conditions where size or weight must be minimized or where complex vibration spectra exist. Alloys which combine high damping capacity with good mechanical properties can provide attractive technical and economic solutions to problems involving seismic, shock and vibration isolation. To meet these trends, we have developed a new high damping Fe-17%Mn alloys. Also, the alloy has advantages of good mechanical properties and more economical than any other known damping alloys(1/4 times as cost of non-ferrous damping alloy). Thus, the high damping Fe-17%6Mn alloy can be widely applied to household appliances, automobiles, industrial facilities and power plant components with its excellent damping capacity(SDC, 30%) and mechanical property(T.S 700MPa). It is the purpose of this paper to introduce the characterization of the high damping Fe-17%Mn alloy and the results of retrofit several such applications.

Experiments for Forming Limit Diagram and Springback Characteristics of AZ31B Magnesium Alloy Sheet at Elevated Temperature (AZ31B 마그네슘 합금판재의 온간 성형한계도 및 스프링백 특성 시험)

  • The effect of temperature on the forming limit diagram was investigated for AZ31B magnesium alloy sheet through the limit dome height test in the range from room temperature to $300^{\circ}C$. The formability of AZ31B sheet was improved significantly according to the increasing temperature. Also we studied the springback characteristics through the 2D draw bending test with different blank holding forces at elevated temperatures. Springback quantity was considerably reduced as temperature went up. The blank holding force in the range used, however, had little influence on springback. Experimental results obtained in this study may provide a material database for AZ31B sheet.

소형 프로펠러 경항공기 복합재 날개의 구조설계에 관한 연구

  • 복합재료는 높은 무게비 강도 및 강성뿐만 아니라 우수한 재료 특성 때문에 경량화와 구조적 안전성이 요구되는 항공기의 구조재로서 사용이 증대되고 있다. 소형 민용항공기는 구조적 안전성과 함께 제작과 정비, 유지보수의 용이성이 중요시된다. 본 연구에서는 복합재료를 구조재로 사용하였을 때의 성능변화와 경량화 등을 검토하기 위하여 기존의 알루미늄 합금을 이용하여 설계된 소형 프로펠러 경항공기 날개의 구조재로서 복합재료를 사용하여 재설계하였다. 날개의 기본 구조는 스킨, 스파, 웹으로 구성된 상자형 단면으로 설계하였으며 날개의 구조재로서 탄소/에폭시를 사용하여 상용 유한요소해석코드인 NISAII를 이용하여 굽힘, 좌굴 등의 응력해석을 수행하였고 기존 설계된 날개와의 성능비교를 위하여 알루미늄 합금으로 설계된 날개를 모델링하여 해석한 결과와 비교하였다. 비교결과 구조재로 탄소/에폭시를 사용하여 설계된 날개가 무게비 성능면에서 더 우수함을 확인하였다.

Development of Automatic Tool Change System of the SMA-Based Tool Clamping Device (형상기억합금 기반 공구클램핑 장치를 위한 자동공구교환 시스템 개발)

  • This study developed an automatic tool change system of the SMA-based tool clamping device for applications of micro-machine tools. This paper first describes clamping and unclamping procedures of the automatic tool change system and its basic configuration. Second, it presents fabrication techniques of components, such as a heating/cooling system and a tool loader. Finally, it describes automatic tool change test conducted with a prototype in which the fabrication techniques of components were employed. As the results of the test, times needed for clamping and unclamping operations were estimated to 18(s) and 8(s) respectively. The experimental results confirm that the proposed automatic tool change system can be sucessfully applied to micro-machine tools.

  • This paper presents a simulation study on the description of the motion and the control of an active catheter actuator with multi-link structure actuated by Shape Memory Alloy(SMA). The model of an active catheter adopted in this paper has 3 links, and the individual links are composed of 3 micro coils of SMA for the omni-directional motion. In order to analyze the motions of multi-link structure, 3-dimensional kinematics description is presented. Also, the motion control of the end point of an active catheter using simple Neural Network is shown based on GUI(Graphic User Interface) system.

  • Recently, environmental pollution has become a significant problem in industry and many researchers have investigated in order to preserve the environment. Environmentally conscious machining and technology have more important position in machining process, because cutting fluid has bad influence on the environment in milling process. This research is the experimental study on high speed machining of aluminum alloys through environmentally conscious machining. In this study, the surface roughness and chip appearance was investigated in the machining of aluminum alloys by dry machining, using cutting fluid and oil mist.
